Trying to open an account with $100K starting balance and it has been the most ridiculous and negative experience so far. Online process simply declines without any reasonable explanation. Then tried to make an appointment at the only branch in San Jose. No way to make an online appointment and when I call, I have been waiting for 40 mins on the phone on hold. Sounds pretty bad so far; maybe a good warning not to open an amount. My interest was the options for international banking, but it might not be worth the hassle.

The personnel at the front desk is extremely rude and unprofessional. Whatever you asks her she would reply with a mad and impatient face saying “it’s hard to explain “. So disappointed with the training and service of this specific brunch. Try to avoid this brunch at all cost, there are a lot of other better options, where the personnel cares and are well-trained.

UPDATE: AVOID THIS "BANK" AT ALL COSTS. They keep your money in transfer for days to get free interests, in complete disregard for the inconvenience and financial damages it may cause you or the recipient,I submitted an international wire transfer. Called to confirm all the details. However the transfer has not gone through after more than a week despite their app saying "completed". The branch says they are unable to check the status so I'll have to call their customer service. Customer service says it's still in "clearing" - haven't even left the US yet. They have no set date for the completion. I ask to cancel the transfer. They agreed but then told me that it will take at least two days for them to review the cancellation request - and the reversal may or may not succeed!! According to them, I may also receive less than the original amount because of currency rate fluctuations, so they are essentially charging me the bid-ask spread for money they sat on for days.I am filing a complaint to CFPB and OCC.--The branch and relationship manager is fine. HOWEVER for a simple transaction - be prepared to spend hours on the phone talking to their customer service center in India and their broken phone app.

I opened a new account at this brunch on June 2023. I was helped by a very nice, welcoming associate; Gitanjali Misha.She was willing to help and tried her best in a complicated situation. I appreciate her time and effort.

The manager of the branch Onjali Phailbus, was rude, impatient and irritated at the questions I was asking regarding tax forms. Instead of calmly clarifying my concerns, she said there are other people on the phone line she had to attend to. As a 15+ year premier customer, this is unacceptable. I’ll be moving my funds and closing my accounts. I suggest you stay away from this location if you want to be treated with respect.

Got a check for Ticketmaster refund from HSBC. The HSBC branch in Cupertino would not cash. Asked to speak to manager. Made me wait. Same thing. HSBC is a bank!? Their check..

Too bad we can't give negative stars. This branch should be closed down like the rest. Incredibly incompetent while smiling and apologizing incessantly. No one is trained. The manager is very uneducated and can't seem to listen. Either that or she was high. No wonder there were only a few customers, and yet they couldn't seem to stop chit chatting with each to help anyone. Total waste of gas

HSBC no longer wants to handle your business account deposits of cash or checks. They state that they focus on Premier account holders and will push you aside to handle those customers even though your in a middle of your transactions. Ridiculous. Don't believe what their web page says about help your business. Cupertino Branch on s DeAnza just confirmed that in person.

My experience was excellent I was lost I got to the bank at closing time I believe the woman who is the manager said it’s just fine come on in and I was very pleased with their service. There was one exception the woman who helped me even though I gave her my ID I was hesitant to let me withdraw cash. But the person next to her help the situation and made it and as a pleasant one. So I happily discussed my plans to go to the beach

when I walked in and I heard their branch manager yelling at their employee. some of clients were shock and it seems like everyone there got used to it. when they intro the branch manager to me, I was shock again that most of the questions I asked she couldn't even answer them. all she did was asking her people , so why did I talked to you ? I chose to do business with people who are professional (at least minimum knowledge required), but she made me feeling like dealing business with scam. Also, please dress more like a people that works in a bank. I don't want to judge anything but this is very important for all your clients. And again, DO NOT YELL AT YOUR EMPLOYEE AT YOUR BUSINESS HOURS. This is very bad to those clients who walk in your branch, to those people who work with you and also to yourself.

I would give 0 star if it allows me to. Such a bad experience with the loan officer Ken Chan sometime ago. I have 800+ credit score. I almost need to sue them in small clam court. Luckily, my loan application fee got refunded after they provided me nothing. I meant really nothing. Avoid at all cost with this branch!! HSBC should just close this branch.

Worst HSBC banking center in Bay Area!!! Inexperienced teller doesn't know how to deposit a check and incorrectly told me that the check has to be deposited into a new account. I went to the HSBC Saratoga and deposited the check without any problem. Very disappointed with the service!! I'm going to move all money to somewhere else.
