I can not find words to describe what a terrible experience it is to shop at this store. I just returned from being stuck in line at the "Self Checkout" where several station were not working and the rest had "Please wait for assistance" flashing on the screen. There were NO staff anywhere to be seen and NO staff at any of the checkout lanes. (And they complain about shoplifting?!?) When you actually find them, the people who work here are the rudest, most unfriendly, unhelpful and plain disinterested staff of any Safeway I have ever experienced. The layout and design of the store is also exceedingly terrible and forces customers to trade back and forth across the store. It is a good thing that there are several other grocery stores in the area because I will not be returning to this terrible one.

*Pharmacy* I left my career as a physician over the covid fiasco. Unfortunately, I live near this store, and for nearly 2.5 years, I've tried to get the pharmacists to verify the actual science to give their patients informed consent. I even protested in front of the store. Since at least December 2020, the science never supported covid mRNA or viral vector DNA technology. I printed out thousands of evidence based peer reviewed studies, tens of millions of formal reports of deaths and serious injuries, pre-existing patents, etc.. that these people at this store refuse to even look at. I have a moral and legal responsibility to keep genocide out of my neighborhood. They say they are "following orders." This is why we repeat the sins of history. It is always traumatic to shop here. We'll never forget what they allowed to happen to our neighbors. Is it complicity or willful ignorance? I don't know. The pharmacist with the curly dark hair seems to get it from day 1- she is sharp. So does the young blonde one with the straight hair. Why can't this store just direct customers to make appointments elsewhere if they want to euthanize themselves? I'm tired of the stench of death and this dark stain on our community. Evil exists when decent people do nothing!

Typically this is my significant and I grocery store we usually go to. Never had an issues with the store until last night . I usually don't leave yelp review but this one bother me . We went to the local Safeway nearby our house to purchase liquor. As we were checking out we notice the cashier was having a problem with the customer ahead of us and seem bothered. As she was checking us out she informed us that she need to check both ID and would not serve if we did not. This was a first time that this location has required to do that . I did not bring my ID but my significant was purchasing the items. As we talk to the manager his name Brook lefwich was very rude and unprofessional things could of de-escalate the situation in a different way instead he told us he wouldn't serve at all without accommodating. I felt discriminated due to the situation based off my looks because I look young but am actually the age of drinking . It's ridiculous to what has happened and it was very unprofessional of how things turn out .

Manager Brook Leftwich is a racist. Discriminating me and refusing to sell to me for no good reason. Ive shopped at this safeway over a decade. The other manager great guy always helps me out. Didnt think id deal with a racist like brook. If you're going on a weekend night expect to deal with him if you have any issues. They will find any reason to discriminate

Rude co-workers gossiping about sale of alcohol/wine products after I grabbed 5 cardboard boxes for a set of 6 wine. Middle aged co-workers proceeds to talk "sh*t" about me in a rude tone. I obviously overheard as I checked out and grabbed my receipt to walk to my car. Do better. Stop gossiping.Customers such as myself can hear and understand the gossip your staff continues to talk about paying/of age customers. Get a grip

The Safeway grocery store has a decent product assortment, however the retail layout can be confusing and congested. Some of the costs are higher than at other local grocery stores, and the checkout lines can be long and slow, especially during peak hours. All in all, it's a mediocre shopping experience that's not worth making an effort to visit.

Decent prices on stuff. Store is a little disorganized and there aren't enough carts when its busy, otherwise its OK. It has all your essentials. What else is there to say about Safeway. It's not a very exciting concept. Reminds me of Winn-Dixie on the east coast tbh!

This Safeway is well managed. Never had an issue with checking out or a store being a mess.I always think of grabbing an order made sandwich, but the workers at the sandwich counter are either not there or are in the back doing something else. Wish there was a easier process.

Conveniently located inside Safeway store. Was there after 7 pm to get my registration and sticker reprinted. Went on without a hitch and no crazy DMV lines.

It is good overall but I am giving it a lower rating because the oranges weren't ripe, asparagus was limp, the deli chicken wings were teeny tiny and my retinol lotion was 7 months expired.

Apparently if you live in Redding, an hour isn't long enough for the smog cert to register as completed at the Kiosk. Wasted day.
