They botched a neuter surgery and killed my father’s dog.
My father brought his perfectly healthy bulldog in for a routine neutering procedure. They didn’t run an ECG and take the proper pre-surgery precautions, and his dog died. She was a member of the family and our dog’s best friend.
Who doesn’t run an ECG on a bulldog before administering anesthesia? On top of that, they charged him $100 more dollars because she was “in heat” but assured him that it was perfectly fine and safe to do the procedure.
It’s inexcusable for any professional, and it has fundamentally changed my elderly father’s life forever.
I’ve already reported this to the Veterinary Association, and NO vet should be so focused on adding in extra charges for a surgery (which was $3,000 by the way) that they don’t disregard safety.
Also, they didn’t realize the animal lost its heart beat until after the anesthesia was administered…because they weren’t monitoring her heart.
How about you focus less on up-charging for elements of a surgery that are requirements at EVERY OTHER VET in America and maybe focus on not killing animals due to negligence.
The worst part? The nurse’s excuse was that they didn’t run an ECG because “my dad checked the wrong box” - blaming the victim.
Despicable.

Devastated and Heartbroken - Do NOT Trust This Vet!
I trusted this vet with my 7-month-old English Bulldog, and they completely dropped the ball. They failed to perform the proper pre-surgery testing, even though they knew my dog was high-risk. Despite my dog being in heat, which increases the risk of complications, they assured me it was safe to proceed but never fully explained the risks. They even charged us extra because she was in heat, but didn’t inform us of the potential dangers.
It was clear that this vet was more concerned about collecting a $2,500 payment than the well-being of my dog. We were rushed through the paperwork, signing forms without them properly explaining what we were agreeing to. Now, we are left devastated, heartbroken, and without our beloved pet.
What makes this even worse is that basic monitoring during surgery, which should be standard, was neglected. My dog’s life was in their hands, and they failed her – and us. This vet has permanently damaged our family. I cannot emphasize enough: Do NOT trust them with your pet’s life.
Please, for the sake of your animal, I beg you – do NOT take them here. I wouldn’t wish this nightmare on anyone.

This has been my dog’s Vet since I got her at 2 months and I love them, they’re great!! I brought my pup to get spayed and they did an amazing job. I also bring her for her yearly check ups, to get her nails trimmed (bc I’m so scared to hurt her) and they have even done the exam needed to travel outside of the country. I will continue to bring her and trust them with my fur baby.

They are so good at dealing with my cat! And that’s not always easy, my kitty can be quite the handful.
Everyone here is awesome. Never more invasive than necessary, never push for extraneous testing.
Recently moved to Dublin and had some frustrating experiences establishing care out here. Ultimately we decided that it’s worth the drive to continue care with a team we can trust!

Everyone at Cupertino Animal Hospital cares about animals. I drive from Fremont to Cupertino just because I know Dr. Kureshi and his staff will provide the best service for my pets. Highly recommend!

Extremely kind, caring, and approachable staff, who very clearly have a lot of knowledge and passion around helping animals! I've been taking all three of my dogs here for the past few months and Dr K and his staff have been excellent for everything from routine medical care to even a life-threatening emergency we had -- Dr K also strikes me as a very honest person who will decline tests and extra medical procedures that he thinks won't be useful. The bills and costs are also very reasonable.

Great place, very friendly staff. Especially when I go in there and there is a bunch of quacking from the ducks.

Update 12.14.23. still five star service. I arrived pretty much on time for my appointment and was seen within a few minutes. I was a little bit embarrassed because I hadn't been able to take them in for a while, but the vet and the staff were very friendly and just gave them their regular shots and checkups. Had a nice chat about my cats and the vets own pet lives too, and it was quite nice. One of my cats is really hard to handle, but they got most of the exam done without any issues, and I was satisfied to hear my cats were still in good health ?. I forgot to ask them a question about my cat's teeth before leaving, but I will probably send them an email, as they seemed open to communication after the exam. Definitely will be coming back again, and still biased because I still live right down the street. This reviews a bit biased just because of how close I live. Literally walking distance to this vet, and my cats are indoor/outdoor and take walks with me.Because of covid, a lot of businesses have been struggling so I guess I was lucky to get an appointment to here. Was able to schedule an appointment about a week out, and was seen promptly when I arrived.Doctor saw my cat for a regular checkup, and hopefully these guys will be my regular vet from now on!(Pic is of my cat that was seen, not the business)

Dr. Kureshi is amazing. We have taken our various cats to him for almost 30 years. He always spends time with us, has solved many problems from diagnosing our cat's diabetes to helping us figure out why our cat was always throwing up (gagging from ingesting little bits of yarn). When our elderly cat had to be euthanized due to kidney failure, he was very attentive and compassionate. I'm so glad that we found his practice all those years ago.

Fantastic *small* veterinarian! We chose this vet because they offered laparoscopic spaying for our Bella girl (dog). The doctor is extremely experienced, and carries an amenable "laid back" attitude. That means that he doesn't push certain care just for the bottom line.
Keep in mind this place is small (which I prefer). That means that it can get very busy. If you are impatient or can't be flexible with your schedule to a reasonable degree, I would recommend you find somewhere else to go. Just this week, I was there and a customer had something else to do at the same time (drop child off somewhere). Within 5 minutes of waiting, she left and missed her call for care. She returned shortly, and it became an unnecessary scene (because of the customer). The staff responded very professionally. This is exactly the type of situation you should avoid when scheduling ANYTHING, let alone with a small vet.
The staff is seasoned, extremely nice, and most importantly, fantastic with your pets. This includes engagement, inoculations (painless), communication between staff, and especially cookies for Bella. And obviously the procedures. Bella's spaying was as good as it could have been.
Enjoy this vet for what it is, a wonderful "small town" vet that can do or arrange whatever care your pet needs.
To the staff, Bella says hello!

Whoever answers the phone might need some customer service training; it's not okay to be rude to customers for no reason. We are not investing our money here anymore, sadly.

I have a 7 year old Staffordshire Terrier named Smudge. At 2 y/o he got a foxtail in his ear. Took him to my vet at that time. I started to notice his behavior changing. He was losing his confidence and loud noises started to scare him. I went to various vets and I kept hearing was that my pup was having behavioral issues and they would send me home with anxiety meds. I was frustrated and knew better. There was something wrong with his ear. After 5 years of being told that I was overreacting and there is nothing wrong with my pups ear, I found Dr. K at Cupertino Animal Hospital. He heard what I was saying not necessarily convinced himself there was a problem with Smudges ear. I insisted and Dr. K suggested a CT scan. The scan showed the problem in his middle ear behind the ear drum. Still not knowing exactly what it was, we knew something was wrong. 6 months later we went back and did another CT scan. It had progressed, Dr. K did surgery and removed the ear drum to get get to the problem. He took samples and sent them to the lab for testing. Results were Cholesteatoma. A disease that if left untreated could have killed my pup, eventually after suffering. I am so grateful for Dr. K. He told me that the surgery was very extensive and he could see what i was telling him about me pup's behaviors. It didn't make sense to him at he time because the two didn't add up. I am so glad that Dr. K never gave up on us and we found the problem and a solution. Smudge is slowly gaining his confidence back, his hearing is muffled in that ear and no water is allowed in. He gets medication in his ear which we are weening him off. He is a happier loving pup. Thank you Dr. K for not giving up on us. We highly recommend Dr. K at Cupertino Animal Hospital to find and fix your animals ear problems. Smudge approved
