The employees there are the worst. Was in the store 10 minutes looking for something and several of them passed me and not once offered to help. Once I asked they seemed irritated. Get over yourself

the worst customer service. the employees there must be real unhappy for reasons they can’t cope with, probably related to the job but JEEZ…what happened to hello hi how are you?? just immediately “PHONE NUMBER???” with the worst look on their faces. they just stand and watch, no greeting no helping. i’ll definitely be shopping online or i’ll just go to the one in marina del rey. they need to retrain and/or pay them more so they’ll be happier.

I came in on June 27th 2024. I am a ulta credit card holder and has spent thousands of dollars with this company. But today there was a worker by the name of Amanda with a very aged face very jigsaw like that followed me around which was actually pretty scary. You've lost 1 of many clients.

Incredibly poor experience all together.
Latino staff talk down to me; unlike how they speak to white and Latino customers (I’ve monitored it for quite awhile now). And honestly, it’s an issue in the Latino community. They always speak down to us black folks.
Manager and one of the female associates that I see a lot is very combative and defensive during interpersonal interactions with me (Particularly the associate). They don’t take accountability for their actions. This is my money. I have a right like everyone else to receive quality service. I don’t owe them grace when they do a poor job on my hair or waste my time due to their poor communication skills. They finger point in every instance and immediately go on the defense. I think they feel they can do that because I am a black female. I called 3x and it was never confirmed to me that I was to go to the Marina Del Rey location for my rescheduled appointment. I also get hung up on a lot (Very questionable behavior). In fact, I recalled 10 minutes prior to arriving to the Culver City location and was still told to pull through. Even worse, they assigned me to a stylist in another location that didn’t do black hair. The Culver City manager didn’t do her due diligence in making sure this stylist was appropriate for my hair type before scheduling me at another location. Incredibly demeaning and careless. I was a constant customer, met this manager in person twice, and also when I arrived my usual stylist Jose actually was in the store (Interesting, considering on the phone they said 2x he wasn’t in the store today). Regardless, they could've spoken with him and made sure he provided feedback to the stylist at the Marina del Rey location who was planning to take me as a customer today. They could’ve asked him what was best for my hair before I left so they could call the Marina Del Rey store…they didn’t take that step. They didn’t take care of me at all.
Communication is poor across the board. I not only spent good money with the stylist Jose but I also tipped well. I've even recommended my mother for him once as well. Overall, they did not value me as a customer. I am certain my black race had a lot to do with it. If I was white or Latino, the treatment would be 100% different. And yes, the nasty looks and unprofessional back and forth is a constant by the latino associates.

I also left this review on yelp! Be careful in there. Horrible customer service. Walked out very disappointed. I asked a worker who was not busy if they could help me. I asked if they could get me a foundation shade since the only one there was already opened. Instead of being helpful the worker started questioning me about the opened foundation. Started accusing me of being the one who opened it when I did not. I was simply checking if the foundation was sealed and thank goodness I did or else I would have purchased an already opened foundation. I always make sure the products I want to buy are sealed when they are supposed to. I simply turned the cap and saw the silver seal missing then immediately thought nope I want to check if they have another one. Never did i imagine the worker would accuse me of breaking the seal on something that was already missing a seal. The tone and facial expressions were so rude. I could tell they didn't want to help me and felt so defeated at explaining myself. I don't know why I was treated like this. I don't ever want to walk in here again. Too bad I didn't get the worker's name. looked like a manager. They should remember that interaction if they read this.
It was on May 11, 2024 around 7 pm. I get better customer service at the Sephora in the same mall.

oh the cashier was so lovely! I was travelling from canada so she taught me a bit about how to tell if US money is counterfeit. She also helped me find a product that was sold out on the floor but had a few kicking around in the back. Thanks!!

Experience could've been better if Belen would've done her job properly. Unfortunately she was making things difficult with our exchange even though we had a receipt and everything. But she had things coming for us the minute she saw us by blocking our way to the line and making us go all around. Thankfully the store manager came and helped us out but even then she was trying to convince her manager to not help us. Hope ulta finds someone better to hire so customers don't have to deal with this type of behavior.

On 5/1 I came here with my boyfriend at around 6:45 pm. As I was done shopping I headed to the register to pay. He then decided to go to the cologne section to wait for me. When he was there an employee approached him asking him if he needed help which he proceeded asking questions on the colognes. As soon as he asked his questions, the employee would not leave and started staring at him making him uncomfortable. She then asked another employee over and said something to them about him.. being absolutely obvious. Who knows what they told each other but they then immediately said something on the pager to the employee that was ringing me up. We then have three employees staring at him and they were saying stuff right in front of us. The girl ringing me up was huffing and puffing, shaking her head.. why? He eventually had to speak up for himself and ask if they needed something because they would not stop. Super unprofessional and disrespectful. I hope you guys werent assuming he was doing something he wasnt because one of the employees participating helped me out with some products. I was also literally paying. I HOPE you guys were not assuming he was doing anything because of the way his sweater was. He's an amputee and tucks in his sweater that way so I really HOPE you guys were not assuming otherwise. Unbelievable. To this Ulta, please talk to your employees on how to not making assumptions and how to not gossip in FRONT of customers faces. This was so unfortunate and an uncomfortable situation. I didnt catch their names but I know one girl had black hair with a claw clip and had on a gray sweater and the girl that rang me up had all black. I cant remember what the other girl had on.

NOPE! NEVER AGAIN! I shop here out of pure convenience but this time I couldn't deal. There are never any employees on the floor to assist customers. They moved or discontinued items so today I especially needed help. As I'm walking around in circles the line is getting longer and longer so I put my unpurchased items down and left.

Of all the Ulta's, this is the only one that has bad associates and managers. They are quick to judge, no matter what the situation may actually be. Even after making a purchase, both a manager and associate (on separate occasions) refused to give me access to the bathroom. Even though I was wearing makeup and holding a receipt, both saw nothing but the taxi driver shirt I was wearing. Yet, almost all of the makeup I get is from Ulta. I never have this problem with any other Ulta. Will not come back to this one. Maybe these so-called associates don't realize: bad service leads to no sales and no job.
