Last week I was admitted to Southern California Hospital at Culver City after suffering a severe asthma attack. The staff there was extremely professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They took great care of me and I am back home on the mend. I would like to give a big shout out and THANK YOU to the terrific staff that I encountered during my stay there: Nurse Rosette, Nurse Karla, Nurse Jon, Physicians Assistant Rachel, Nurse Assistant Kalea, Leah, and Reggie! You all are AWESOME!

I got what I paid for. Cannot blame the hospital after all. Am under Medical and enjoying the best service.Incidents happen. Thats lifeAfter a reconstructive surgery I was discharged by two nurses rushing me to the exit as fast as they could. I was still drowsy. The effect of the anesthesia still making me feel knocked out! A pillow on my belly oops off we go. Hop in the car of an acquaintance, who was very solicitous to come asap to pick me up.Arrival at home few hours later, Blood was all over my middle section: around the belly: the plastic belt the cloth I was wearing all soaked in blood!!While undressing and changing my clothes ! Surprise : my pelvic hair all shaved off!!!Two lip suctions from both sides of the hip were expected but also from the “pierced my belly button”” bleeding from there as well my skin discolored because of the trauma the body went thru because no band aid or cover directly on the wounds! Burning feeling and painful … fresh woundsI worked hard to get over it.Never trust this hospital if another illness requires me to check in a hospital !My regret is that I always researched every medical office, services… prior using them. Not this time!! It does not make sense to trust the medical team:cancer and reconstructive surgeons and just go for it. They are two independent parties.Where is the Los Angeles county to watch, audit and regulate hospitals I wonder what must have happened to patients during the lockdown n COVID-19 plague ?

Needed surgery and looked up my surgeon. He was really good in the field I needed surgery for. Great reviews for him as a neurosurgeon. When I got the place where I will be having the surgery blew my mind cause they changed the name. When I walked in I see they kinda tried to update everything make it look little different. Got there hrs before surgery to get paperwork done etc. was sitting in the lobby for hrs. Then it was past my surgery time and still sitting. I went up to the window finally. I thought it was to do the paperwork etc. but the lady took my ID insurance and wrote something down on sticky note and said we’ll call your name. Sat for another hr and a half. Drs came in. And about 10-15 min later they are drilling the staff about how they need to do their jobs. Good job on the drs. Someone needed to tell them something instead of letting them party and just do what they want when they want. 30 min after they everyone started getting called up to the window. Me for the second time. The first time they could have done everything at once. That’s for down stairs lobbyNow for the journey upstairs. The nurse that came down to get you just didn’t care what so ever. The way she acted and treated and how she talks. Didn’t really listen too busy on the phone when we get to the room. In the way up she was impatient cause some of the patients couldn’t walk fast enough for her. Finally got in the bed prepping for surgery. Taking clothes off etc. they were running around like they didn’t know what to do. Asking questions on where to put a wristband and was wrong one and to reprint it. Note: This is all 2 hrs after my surgery was supposed to start so they were probably tripping and scared cause they got chewed out. I’m thinking. Still not cool tho.surgery room. Surgeon was great the whole staff was. They really cared, told you everything they were doing before they do it. Why they were doing it. Answered all your questions. Made you feel comfortable. And like they cared. Anesthesiologist Was also great and answered whatever in and of the operating room. After care. Finally in a room. They check your vitals to see if you are still alive and that’s it. 3 days in and nurses did not give a crazy about the patient. They had more front desk nursing parties than anything else. Like pulling teeth to get something done. They take forever to do it cause they forgot about you. And when they are in there they don’t care at all. Spent majority of the time in really severe pain. The practitioner came in told him it wasn’t working. He sat he will give something different and never came back and the nurse didn’t know or even care. I got lucky and there was 2 nurses that came in during shift change the next day. Different than all of the rest. They were awesome. She actually came by checked if I needed anything. She’s the one that got me different meds, comfortable. Came back within a reasonable time whenever I needed something. Was on point. If I rejected her name I would put her name here so they know she’s a great nurse and she’s probably the only one doing the job right and cares about her patients. And the other guy. Finally got discharged after 3 hrs of waiting because the nurse didn’t do his job and check when they were supposed to check on the order. If it wasn’t for a visitor to walk out and say something they would have never seen anything or gotten the paperwork cause no one would have ever came back.Finish getting discharged finally. The lady rolled me out. The front desk stopped her and was wondering what was going on. I had the paintbrush in my hand. They were so confused and scared. Sat there for couple min. While they tries to give her wrong paperwork then says it’s my copy and I already had my copy. They acted like 9th graders at a desk full of paper and had a pop quiz lol. So unorganized. One of them smelled like weed. They were probably all high. Finally make it down stairs pusher didn’t care.

They treat their patients horribly and the staff even worse. I won’t be shocked when they end up on the news for labor abuse and scammer doctors. ? this place and I mean that with my entire soul

This place needs to be shut down by California DHCS. Utterly disgusting Feces on the chairs, stench of urine, urine all over the lobby floor that took an HOUR by an extremely rude janitor to clean to clean. This same janitor used a swiffer wet pad to clean the urinated lobby floor, which did nothing but spread urine all over floor and increased the smell. A hospital cleaning HUMAN waste so carelessly is unexceptionable and any doctor treating people at that facility needs their license snatched. Because how dare you? Smh. The place is a health hazard! At least the place could be clean.

I don't know why there are bad reviews for this place. I came here after having a really bad experience at Cedars, a supposed world-class hospital. Cedars did no diagnostic tests on me and did not take my pain seriously. Turns out, I had an acute kidney infection. SCH took my pain seriously and gave me multiple tests. I am also autistic and they were all so accommodating and patient with me. I cannot recommend this hospital enough. I have Medi-Cal and they treated me with dignity. Cedars just treated and streeted me. Because I am low income. Southern Califirnia Hospital has amazing service. AMAZING!

My daughter was there for 10 to 12 hours and she left with the same exact problem that she went in for, there was no resolution. Yes they checked out anything major but they did not find the root cause and just told her to follow up with her primary care doctor. We were all hoping that the source of her pain would have been found, or at the very least managed. When the doctors change shift, the second doctor had a different opinion. I feel like they made an assumption, and it felt very dismissive.A person comes to a hospital to resolve the pain, treated with empathy and respect, not to be sent home with the same pain or to feel minimized and not heard.

If I could give zero stars for this atrocious hospital I would. If there was another word to describe how horrific the nurses and the doctors were in this hospital I would. I think they take pride in mistreating people here. If you went in with a cold you’d probably be left freezing cold in the lobby for 10 hours and come out with Pneumonia and Covid. They have no care or respect for patients or minors. Never go there, let alone take your child. The lobby is full of mental health patients being mistreated by these horrid people. There’s a literal bullet hole at the front intake. There was only one person who was pleasant in there, a nice black lady at the front intake who was kind and patient to everyone. This hospital is disgusting, in a few words or less.Last thing to add, that Asian lady doctor in the ER should be fired. Scroll down and more people have Similar comments.Very rude dismissive and disrespectful and disregards anything about the real reason you’re there. If She was doing this to a child and can’t imagine others

Was misdiagnosed and was almost forced into an ambulance by the doctor over her misdiagnosis. Such a traumatic experience, go to Cedars instead.

This was the worst hospital I have ever stayed in. I was admitted for severe asthma. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days on a mattress that smelled like it was soaked in urine. Nurses never came to check on me. I was afraid I was going to get an infection from how dirty the room was or die from not getting the care I needed. It was traumatizing. It’s so deceptive how it looks so nice in the entrance but all the patients on Medicaid are sent where all the equipment is old and filthy and the patients for weight loss surgery go to the a new side of the hospital. Disgusting.
