Beware: bikes get stolen from the rack outside of the smoothie bar (speaking from experience). Otherwise, the gym is excellent and everyone is friendly!

The gym is fine but watch out for your car or bicycle if you park outside. My friend had his bike stolen, it was locked right out front on the sidewalk. Security guard then told him that there are lots of issues with stolen bikes and cars being broken into.

The problem of having to wait for equipment is much much worse at Equinox than I have experienced at competing gyms like LA Fitness or 24-hour fitness and the cost of Equinox is 5x's as high as competitors. The equipment at Equinox is not newer or higher quality either. What you get is a nice locker room with towel service. If you don't use those things it a very overpriced "meh" gym Update: I'm now downgrading Equinox to one star. It's really in every way as bad or worse than the typically predatory gym membership scam. Case in point: they do not provide a simple and direct means to cancel your membership--you have to email them or go in person. I tried the email with a polite and direct message requesting cancellation of my membership and I got a long reply wherein they let me know they had NOT cancelled the membership and "why is it you are interested in leaving?" Infuriating for a brand that pretends to be a kind of premium service and experience. It's nothing of the kind

Personally, Equinox has always been one of my few luxuries. I've been an on and off member for the past 14-years. The reason I've always been willing to pay the premium monthly fees was due to the uncrowded and clean environment. I have been at this Culver location for 2+ years.. The gym has become so unreasonably crowded, it mirrors 24 Hour or LA Fitness. They just raised the prices due to "new equipment" when there is no new equipment in the gym. The staff work extremely hard, including the GM constantly getting his hands dirty and aiding in the cleaning, this is not at all a knock on them. The men's locker room and showers are flat out disgusting, due to the fact that it is not possible to uphold the Equinox standard with such crowds. In addition, I have not at all been able to get through any of my workouts due to the sea of people on the gym floor. Again, the staff is awesome, I look at this as a problem of the system that places profits above all else. I'd be happy to discuss if someone wishes to contact me.

Pros - at least for me it's walkable which was something I wanted in a home gym -great teachers- love the yoga/metcon teachers. They are friendly, engaging, and have great routines Cons -not the cleanest gym I've been to which is disappointing for the price point. The bathrooms on the main floor have garbages that are overflowing, hair, and unflushed toilets -towels in the women's bathroom are also often overflowing which again for the price and amount of staff working doesn't make sense -weird water stains also in the women's bathroom - equipment screens are not cleaned properly and streaky on most treadmills/ellipticals -multiple ellipticals click so you're left with two functional ones -small location -the weights get very overcrowded as do the classes so you have to be diligent about booking - gym/class hours are not optimal

I've been coming to this location for years now and I'm quite satisfied with my experience to say the least. They have some amazing instructors, most notably Stephanie Carter whose classes are fun, innovative, and a well rounded workout. I always look forward to her barre and Metcon classes and try to snag a spot whenever I can because they tend to get full pretty quickly (hence why it's important to get to class on time). I also want to give a shout out to Jeth who works the check in desk and makes going there such a pleasure. This location is definitely special because of the people that go there and work there.

I would never take a class from the instructor Stephanie Carter. I suggest that everybody stay away from her classes. They way she treated me was horrendous. She disrespected and screamed at me like a child. She has no business ever teaching group fitness. I do not pay membership to be screamed and disrespected. Being a teacher, you would expect empathy and I didn’t receive that.

Whoever writes character assassination about our very Beloved Stephanie Carter Pro Group fitness instructor - Cyclist and Bar teacher as well as our fantastic Lovely Management are plain bitter and wrong - this gym and ALL instructors are the kindest and sweetest, most accommodating to us... Outstanding customer service! They are always ready to take care of EVERYONE. This gym is the cleanest of all Equinox - so anyone complaining about bugs and dirty floors and equipment are wrong -again- you do not have any place to be in our shared community. And you few mean girls should leave and don't let the boot kick you too hard in the butt - your self entitled is straight up unwelcome - stop disparaging other people's names and potentially ruining livelihoods

A primordial soup of an environment where pests roam free. Equinox allows grown men to sexually harass women, both client and employee, and get away with it. Anything other than zero tolerance towards perverts who feel emboldened to say out of pocket garbage to the women that work for you, or who pay for their membership here is encouragement for such behavior. Cowardly and weak leadership paired with unjust policies dressed in Dri-Fit. Just know if you have any issues here, they'll look the other way. Fix ya'll culture.

Limited club hours makes their membership value pale in comparison with other gyms. Stopped by today @ 3:10PM and the gym was closed at 3PM the entire holiday weekend. Seriously ridiculous given the $270 / month cost of the membership.

Great gym. Good classes, excellent personal training experience, convenient location. Cardio and weights main area is a bit on the small side and can seem crowded at certain times as a result, but overall, solid gym!
