I've been bringing my mini poodle here for three years. They do a great job with the haircut, and can customize if you just wants scissor cut or razor cut. The customer service is great, they take care of you and your furry one.

I feel bad I didn't write this amazing review sooner! California Groomers is my favorite LA city area groomers because everyone that works there cares about pets/animals. I have been visiting from out of town every time I went there. My dog does not like me brushing her so any grooming makes her upset. Every time I picked my dog up she was much calmer than when I dropped her off. Which for me is the best positive sign for a dog groomer. I think the people Who work there have it figured out. This is my LA AREA dog groomer, por vida.

I’m giving them a 3 cause they charged 100+ for my small dog. So I expected it would be a pretty luxury grooming. It wasn’t. They cut him very uneven all through out and so short that I know they did no brushing. They told me it’s cause he was badly matted but I brushed him two days before bringing him in. So I know if there were mats they were manageable. It’s clear this place is a quick in and out but you are still paying a high price. They also didn’t cut his nails when that was apart of the service so I had to go back. Overall just a pretty bad experience for me.

I really want to thank Frank at California Grooming for the time and attention he gave to my beloved little Min-Schnauzer Sadie. As a 1st-time, new client, I was nervous. I had been taking my dog to be groomed in Irvine, although we live in L.A. (a location which also served as her primary veterinarian) for the last 8years. (Sadie is 9yrs old). Because she gets extremely anxious and can be a little snappy when doing nails, feet, and bathing, the previous groomer always charged me $$$ to do a mild groom sedation. August 2023 was the last straw--Sadie's usual groomer retired and the new person made my beautiful schnauzer look like a chihuahua (nothing against chihuahuas) by completely shaving her entire body---beard and all. I was LIVID. Since then, I've been on a quest to find the right person with the right temperament to groom my girl and care for her properly. Fast-forward to December--her hair finally started growing back and I did a bit of research for good groomers in the area. My neighbor mentioned California Groomin', so I stopped by to check it out. In consulting with Frank about Sadie's issues, he said he was up for the challenge. Today, I took Sadie at 9AM and she was finished in 1.5hrs!!! A huge difference from leaving my dog in Irvine from 8am to 4pm...and California Grooming did an excellent job with NO SEDATION! Frank determined the areas that Sadie didn't like and simply worked around them. He gave her a few of the treats we use at home and said that future groomings with him would not require sedation, only my regular small dose of trazadone an hour prior for her nerves. After 8 years, you can't imagine how grateful I was---between the drive, grooming/vet cost, and losing a full day of work, I was elated. Best thing: Sadie was active, happy, and soooo cute! Price was under $100, and it was worth every penny. California Groomin--you rock! See you next month. Blessings, #SadiesMom

Francisco and his distasteful horrible assistant cut my dogs nails so sloppy she started wimpering in pain. What barbaric humans they are. I guess working with animals for so long made them become insensitive because when I immediately let them know of their bad job, they blatantly said that we went to another grooming place...like i think I would know what place I took her to. Francisco, you vile tyrant, I hope karma comes back to you for all the dogs you have hurt and got away with. Cynical..yuck Edit: He says there's no point of arguing because it seems unreasonable to get mad about. My pup's left foot where he/they horribly messed up got badly swollen. What I don't understand is if they think a pup can be a "hassle", then mention that before trying to get your money. What leeches & deflectors. Take accountability & apologize when necessary (like now), is it that hard? I will say right now my pup is not aggressive as she's been trained but any pup will be a handful when you hurt them and cause nerve pain in their feet. Seems that didn't register but can only be taken as "venting." One last thing, my bf was in the waiting area, NOT in the back with them. DON'T LIE TO LOOK GOOD. Instead, do better for the sake of the innocent who will not see these comments.

I have never gotten my cat groomed so this was my first time at a groomer. I did a lot of research and found that this was one of the few local places that actually groomed cats. Frank was more then willing to answer any questions I had.I asked for a lion's cut. You can't really see how they do it since they do it in the back. Be prepared for them to shave off your cat's fur vs a trim. I think I would come back again, but I am open to looking for another groomer in the area to compare price/differences.

I would not recommend going here if you have a cat, i called them beforehand to confirm that they could groom my cat theo and they said yea no problem. I get to the place, i only see dogs getting groomed (which isn’t a bad thing thats what i come to expect ) and only male groomers, which isn’t to say male can’t groom as well as women, it’s just given the overall vibe of the place gave me worry.I let them groom my theo, i came back after an 1 hour and the women at the front desk tells me that my theo didn’t like the groom at all, an was kinda ‘misbehaving’, which was the first i ever heard that at all. Anytime i bring my theo to any groomers, they think he’s such a sweetheart and they love him because he’s easy to groom. So i had my doubts, the woman tried to tell me to bring him here more often and he should get use to it. My thing is if theo didn’t like it why would i bring he back, so i just paid for the service and got theo home and he’s happy to be back.I still had my worries about how theo did at the groomers like i was missing part of the story. I decide to check his claws just to see how they did and that was when I realized why theo was ‘misbehaving’, he was completely mishandled! Most of his claws were bloody, which means they had no idea what they were doing, they probably never groomed a cat with dogs in the same room before they just wanted to take my money instead of owning up to the fact that this isn’t a service they provide. It took theo a couple months to fully trust me to trim his nails without getting annoyed, and to get him groomed at a different groomer.Moral of the story, always trust your instincts, I should have just took theo home after getting the initial vibe of the place.

WONDERFUL! I found this place through Google and called them. They took me in at the last minute. I was so happy because my pup needed to be washed & trimmed. Mr. Frank was so nice and informative. I will definitely be back and tell anyone I know that has a pup to go to CALIFORNIA GROOMIN'.

I have taken my two *large* cats to California Groomin twice now. I usually get them groomed once a year. Frank groomed them both and he did an epically fantastic job. These are not easy girls. Plus, they're almost 15 lbs each. I worried about them but shouldn't have because they were totally fine when we got home. I dropped them off around 9:30 am. The window for pick up was between 2-4. I got a call from Frank around 2:15. Seamless pick up. He gave me some recommendations for cleaning their ears. They also got sanitary shaves near their potty area. My cats have never looked better. And they genuinely seem happier to be clean. I can't recommend this place more. I'm a nervous cat mom. But Frank said they did great. I'll definitely be returning with my big, fussy girls. Thanks, Frank! You did a wonderful job on my favorite kitty cats!

I recently took my puppy to Frank, and I can safely say she received the best grooming yet, (even if it's only the 2nd one she's gotten) regardless I couldn't be happier with the service, from the care that went into it, to the attention to detail my puppy & I received, as Frank & his staff maneuvers quality at every step of the grooming process, always achieving top-notch care, as all are keen to making sure your pet looks its best. Speaking of Best... Everyone working there takes professionalism serious, from the moment you walk in the staff is highly trained & attentive to your pets needs, as they take the time to listen to what you want & provide the BEST possible results. And it all falls on Frank, as he goes beyond the call of duty to make sure your pet is attended to, keeping close attention to every detail, thus resulting in my pup getting the perfect groom down to the last hair. Speaking of last hairs...You won't find them on the floor nor anywhere, as cleanliness to the facility is always attended to & welcoming thus allows one to feel confident leaving your pet in their care. And lastly, the one that takes president over all attributes mentioned above, is how the staff & especially Frank, display true passion for what they do, resulting in just another wonderful day at work, as positive energy comes natural providing excellent care ensuring your pet is happy, healthy, & clean. Okay, so if you've gotten this far into my review, it sure means you truly care about finding the best groomers in town, thus you've hit the jackpot by taking my recommendation seriously, to which you'll soon find you & your pet throwing your hands in the air in satisfaction from getin' the royal treatment! And speaking of hands...Hands down, California Groomin' won't disappoint!

This is one of my go-to groomers for my dog. They are very good to the animals and give great cuts. With Frank now taking over, they are very responsive and accommodating. I'm always happy to give them my business.
