I came in to buy 2 bottles of water, and picked up a hot dog. Total was $4.80. I tapped my card, saw the receipt printed out, and left. 2 minutes later, my credit card app notifies me that my purchase of $53.18 was approved?!! What purchase?
I went back in, and the lady behind the register looked completely dumbstruck. I asked her how it was possible for my card to be charged again for an entirely different transaction 2 minutes after I left. She found the transaction and printed the receipt. The receipt indicates card was present to tap, and ID was verified. Um...how??? They have yo have a skimmer on their terminal that's retaining card information. The obvious kickers for me on the receipt are the beer and $40 in gas. I've been sober for almost 20 years and I drive a Tesla, no gas needed. Beyond that, I had walked over, didn't even have a car with me.
So could it have been a mistake? Doubtful. My card wasn't there. I wasn't there. It could not have been present to pay for it.
Cashier calls her manager, I try to explain what's going. He keeps cutting me off and is getting belligerent. Cursing, yelling at me. Obviously defensive about something. Did they just get caught? Is this a bigger skimming ring they are a part of? I asked him to just refund my money and let me leave. He says he has to be there. I said I'm waiting. He said he's not coming today, I said I cant come back later. Just passing through. He says dispute it with my bank. I had them on the phone while "Ray" was yelling at me on his employee's phone. He hangs up, like a coward who just got caught. I waited there and steered away 10-15 customers because this store is skimming cards. Sent them to the gas station down the street. Cashier realizing she's not making any sales starts to fidget around, moves to the opposite of the counter. I'm waiting, either for a refund or Ray to show up. I stand by the door, steering more people away. I turn around, and Cashier is taking bills out of the register. As she is, I notice it's adding up to my total of $53.18 I was disputing. Wait, she said she can't refund. Wait, Ray said he can't refund it. What changed? They realized they're losing more potential business then trying to fix this error for me. Tried to make me feel at wrong, didn't take any accountability, didn't want a headache? You ended up losing more money then the $53 you "incorrectly" charged me, or skimmed from me. Oh, and my bank that you wanted me to call? They opened a fraud investigation on your Merchant ID and pay terminal.
Thieves. The lot of you!
To address it before questions come up. Why not just dispute it with the bank? Ya, of course. I did. My concern was how was the card charged 2 minutes after I left, without myself or the card being present. Only means that the card info is being retained without permission, usually a skimmer, making it obvious theft

These guys are jerks. Don't buy food here especially in the rain because they don't allow you to eat it there. Take a walk down the street. This isn't worth it

Nice person working here and good location for gas and snacks, and I say that lightly coming from Idaho. After the crook younger Indian fella at 7 eleven robbed what was left of my 20 dollar bill I wouldn't shop anywhere else in this god forsaken town. Nice to have one decent place around here to get necessities.. Arco in Culver is the only place I like. Can't wait to get back home and needed reasonable gas on the way out. Thanks Arco. Sorry you have to deal with all these liberals with no class.

I stopped here for a quick snack on a road trip, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of their snack selection. The store was well-stocked with a variety of options, including healthy snacks and indulgent treats. The prices were reasonable, and the freshness of the snacks was outstanding. It's a perfect place to refuel not only your vehicle but also yourself with quality snacks at great prices.

Tight gas station, small and expensive but I think that might be the city taxes

This place is really sketchy. Had to pump gas here on my way to a birthday party. The neighborhood here is no different than Crenshaw in LA. Got my gas and got the heck out d there! ? my next purchase will be an electric car!
