I scheduled a donation pick up over a week in advance. I regularly donate due to being the daughter of s vietnam vet. Today I had 6 large bags and a small bookcase waiting for pickup on my front porch visible from the street. I got a call from Rosie stating the truck was in front of my home, and there were no items out? I told Rosie that they must be at the wrong address because no one is in front of my home! Then the truck arrived and took everything but the small bookcase. I called Rosie back and she said the truck driver refused to pick up the bookcase because it had a scratch? It is a vintage bookcase, yes it has scratches on it but is lightweight, usable and nice looking. (Attached is a photo). When did the truck driver ( who can't find the correct address) start designating what he will and will not take? I only donate per your guidelines!!! Apparently, The Vietnam Vets don't need donations, and are scamming honest people. Your truck driver was lazy today! Pathetic!!!

Love it ! Scheduled a pickup at 930 pm and they picked up before 9 am the following morning (they have a pickup window until 5 pm) and they left a donation receipt! So convenient!

I’ve scheduled pickups from this place many times. Never had any issues. But today August first I had a scheduled pickup waited all day for them to come. Nothing! Called the Covina location twice but unfortunately the lady who answered the phone wasn’t much help just said I had to wait till 5;00 pm. Well 5:00 has come and gone. Still nothing. The lady in the phone just said I would have to reschedule. Who wants to reschedule and not know if they’ll show up again! Very disappointing !

I regret to write this review. About 2 weeks ago I scheduled a pick-up and explained what the items were. Everything was confirmed for today June 8, 2023 which happens to be my 44th wedding anniversary. We had a two year old, mint condition, head board, foot board, side boards and slates and all hardware. The manual/instructions were in the original packaging. Last night and this morning we received calls to confirm today's appointment. We confirmed. When asked if one person could carry the items, I answered, "Yes, my 70-year old husband could and so could my 20+ year old son". Today we all waited from 8am to 5:30 pm inside our home for any phone calls from the driver. In addition, a family member periodically checked outside to "see if the driver got lost". No driver showed up. No one from VVA called. So I called VVA to find out what happened. I was told it was a "missed pick-up" and that the driver had the discretion not to pick-up the furniture. Well, NO DRIVER CAME...PERIOD. When asked if I wanted to re-schedule the pick-up, I replied, "No, our furniture will go to landfill". Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Well, instead of helping a vet in need, our furniture will go to the dump tomorrow and add to America's land fill. SHAME ON VIETNAM VETERANS OF AMERICA for their incompetence!!!!

It was easy and convenient to schedule a pick up of my items. Being that I am handicapped myself and not easy to get around. This makes it easy to donate.

One star rating is definitely warranted, this is a very, very shady organization! They claim to 'attempt to contact you' but this is a LIE! I don't know if they treat the drivers bad, but my belief is these guys are lazy as all get out, they will find ANY excuse to NOT pick up your items, even if they are clearly marked and put exactly as required. It's just so, so pathetic, honestly the WORST possible organization every.

Zero stars! Two different times scheduling, both times the driver states nothing left outside. Called both times and was told they couldn't come back even though it was minutes after their call of letting me know I left nothing outside. Horrible service, horrible place that is doing our Vietnam Veterans a disservice. Fire everyone and start over! Seems to be a running theme with other reviews here.

They canceled pick up date with an email. No way to contact my pick up team. New scheduled pick up date given to us is over a month away. My donations are all staged for pick up. Poor customer service

Place would be better if that freaking dork with the glasses that spends seriously all day from the moment the store opens up picking all the men's clothes racks and new items that come out to the racks like a vulture would just go away, just another l**** that thinks reselling is his job and seriously ruins the thrift experience for normal people; if you're reading this: go away, go home.

I've been to a few thrift stores in my lifetime, and this one by far is my to go to! You simply can't go wrong with a huge selection, and on top of that it's super super cheap! The stores organization skills is probably one of the best I've ever seen, every time I go. Majority of my closet have been from finds at this store and yes it's a little drive compared to the close goodwill but goodwill has nothing on the community thrift store. If you're looking for your new favorite thrift store to fall in love with, please check this one out!

I called them up when I was clearing out all the furniture from my parent's house. I called at 10 am to see if they were accepting furniture and that I had a lot. The man in charge said yes, but don't come at closing. I hired movers and after they loaded a truck we got there at 2:30-- 30 minutes before that area closed. When I went to the gate the same man rudely said "we're not taking any more furniture," I reminded him what he said a few hours before and he said it didn't matter. They were not taking it.I ended up having to get a rental unit to hold the furniture until I was able to donate it to Camp Pendleton.I WOULD NOT recommend donating furniture here.
