I had a high opinion of this place, but the service ,atmosphere, and overall cleanliness and friendliness have gone down the toilet.
Rooms: The rooms have roaches and rats because they never fill up all the rooms on a consistent schedule leaving plenty of vacant rooms for critters and creepy crawls inhabit where they please. Joe's apartment comes to mind.

For the price on a weekend, I supposed it's what you could expect in the area. It has the potential to be much nicer though.
Detailed in some of the videos and pictures, there just seems to be a lack of care for maintaining anything.
Other then that, it's a relatively nice room.

The rooms are basically good and the environment is excellent.

We stayed here so you don’t have to. You’re welcome. The online video showed promises of a Spanish cantina hotel with grandeur. What we got instead was lipstick on a pig. Checking in was off putting. The two associates were going back and forth and one had no idea what they were doing. It took longer than expected to get checked in and we were the only ones there.
After we went to our room we wanted to get into the jacuzzi so we changed and didn’t pay much mind to the room. We get to the jacuzzi and it’s cold. The knob that you turn to engage the Jets didn’t work. It was an ice bath that we didn’t get into. Naturally the pool was even colder.
There room was sub par and mediocre. Honestly don’t waist your time here. It feels like they started renovations and then they ran out of finances to complete. The rooms appeared nice but there were burn marks on the floor, base boards were missing from the wall, the towels had holes, the bed duvet wasn’t even a duvet. It was sheets and a blanket. They stressed their duvet online lol. It also had holes and/or burn marks. The king bed was an absolute joke. A whole four inches of thickness. I only say that because I’m being generous. And it was on top of wood planks? Ouch. Lastly my favorite, Multiple creepy crawlers that needed to be eradicated.
This is the only hotel we’ve stayed at where we were going to leave. The only reason we didn’t was because we were too tired.
The only nice thing about this place was the fact that it was quiet and not noisy.
There’s great potential here but the maintenance and “remodel” are garbage. Use your money at the Travel Lodge or motel 6. You’ll get more value there for your stay.

AVOID! My friend and I stayed at the Vanllee Hotel in Covina CA, in room 206 from 9/25 to 10/1. Our stay at this hotel was not pleasant to say the least. I have tried contacting the manager twice and no response.
1. For starters, the AC was not working most of the time we were there. The first time I talked to someone at the front desk, I was told it was the whole building, which it did eventually come back on, The second time, I was told that maintenance would come up and check. We waited all afternoon/evening, and no one showed up. AC eventually came on the next day at some point. After that, it was out again. The next day I complained about the AC not working once again, I was told it that the whole building. That night my friend ended up getting a severe asthma attack and almost called for an ambulance because the room was so hot and stuffy (even with the window and door open at night). Monday, our room got up to 80 degrees and we had to leave to go somewhere, just to get away from the heat. Thankfully the AC was working again before we had to check out the next morning.
2. The internet was spotty at best. I brought my laptop for work and was not able to do much at all because the signal was so weak that my computer (and both our cell phones) kept bounding off the signal. Or it would connect to the Wi-Fi, but there was no internet.
3. The hot tub was not working, which we were really looking forward to, and was partly why we chose this hotel.
4. Turns out the in-house restaurant is not open. According to the website, it's still there and functional, so we planned to eat there when we arrived that evening. We ended up having to get an Uber to go somewhere else.
5. All the signs and plaques around the building are wrong and outdated. We walked all over the second floor looking for the vending machines, ice machines, and where the laundry machines were. Couldn't find anything. We ended up washing some clothes in the sink.
6. The alarm in our room went off twice for several seconds one day, no idea why. I'm just glad it wasn't while we were trying to sleep.
7. The guy who has the gift shop in the lobby burns incense every day, and my friend and I are allergic to smoke (which triggers asthma attacks). We had to hold our breath and make it to the elevator every evening. Not sure if that violates the California Indoor Clean Air Act.
8. We are thankful there was some semblance of a breakfast, but it was minimal at best. It shows that little effort or care was given, and not very welcoming.
9. I liked that there was a computer desk for me to use, but I had to ask for a chair since there wasn't one in the room. One was found and eventually brought up.
We also have some suggestions for the hotel:
- a non-slip mat in the shower.
- towel racks or hooks in the bathroom would be helpful.
- a door handle for the bathroom door- it was very difficult to open and close it, especially with severe arthritis.
Rooms: The room itself was fine, the furniture was weird because there were no drawers, so we just spread our stuff all over the place. The "balcony" was maybe 18" wide, so you couldn't sit out there to enjoy the weather.

Gross! Where do I start? First at check-in, the rug was infested with bugs. My ankles we bit 10 times just by standing there. Then they charged me extra because I was 45min early. The toilet was running all night. The heater didn't work and my 3 year old woke up cold at night. The control was missing the back. There were holes throughout the room. I made sure to document this because they are ready to charge me the deposit for anything that broke. At breakfast there were small flies in side the bread box. The cream cheese they provided was a big coscto size bin with all the leftovers crumbs inside from everyone who dug in.

Doesn't look like the pictures. I think it's too expensive for what it is. Everything is broken, nothing is cleaned. They deactivate the cards for no reason so trying to get in your room is really hard at times.

Rooms: The hotel is big, lots of rooms, but it has seen better days, perhaps 15-20 years ago, it must have been a great place.

The hotel is very old, but based on the facility you can tell it was a super fancy hotel back then, it's very old now, but given the price, I think it's a decent deal. Our room had some AC issues, but the staff was very nice and helpful, they switched us to a working room immediately. The pool and garden of the hotel is beautiful, I didn't swim but it would be a nice thing to do if you plan to.

Travelling with my family for funeral. AC would not work, told the receptionist who told us to turn the AC only to 70 degrees and leave it for 15 min while we already did that (left at 68 deg for an hour) and AC still not work. We got a room in the very back row which is very far from the front desk, we saw other occupants that looked like being living in that hotel for a long time, they made us feeling very unsafe. We tried to get a refund but receptionist told us it is non-refundable and manager is not on duty. We decided to stay just because we just didn't have it in us to fight anymore. Prostitution in the parking lot. Elevator with graffity and broken glass. Breakfast is in a dark small room. This hotel used to be the greatest thing but it is now in the past. We will NEVER stay here again. And oh, the AC on the 2nd room took 1 night to actually worked, we slept with window open, almost like sleeping outside. And on the last day, it finally gave up and not work at all, but we survived. Housekeeping service? It is a non-existent service and God forbid if you need extra pillow.

IT HAS a very pretty façade on the outside, like an Acienda style with a lot of old age. THAT is the beautiful thing about this place. Everything is old and not bad, it just needs to be repaired. It needs a lot of cleaning. The dirty rooms, carpet, bathroom more or less, the door. I don't have time to put the microwave in, super old and dirty, towels stained with yellow and hair, this is more like a motel with no attention to anything, the breakfast room had nothing, a worker SAYING that there was nothing. Very angry, they put juice bottles, all stained and very dirty this is not a cozy place for the price you pay, I hope they close it soon oh they take action on all the customer comments and repair it as a real HOTEL AND SUIT, well it's just NAME, but nothing to do with when you enter

Vanliee Hotel & Suites in West Covina has really stepped up its game! The rooms have definitely been upgraded, making the stay more comfortable and enjoyable. One thing to note is that the air conditioning is set to a max of 75, which may be a bit warm for some, but it's manageable. The pool is open and ready for a swim, which is great! The staff seems new, but I can see their efforts to make improvements and create a better experience for guests, which is really promising. Overall, I love this place—it’s so much fun, and it’s close to everything!

Do not stay here! Stick to a trusted hotel chain you know. On the surface initial photos looked nice but once you arrive you’ll immediately see cars that have been parked long term by “extended stay” guest. You’ll notice the grounds are unkept.
One elevator smells like urine, one has a missing handle with the metal bracket exposed. Room felt humid and although our A/C worked the room is pretty gross. Food left on the pull out couch mattress. Handprints one the bathroom door. Carpet is so disgusting our kids pajamas were blackened so that prompted an unexpected laundry day. Bought slippers just to walk in the hotel before getting back in bed.
The staff is polite but got a call at 10pm to move more truck and trailer to an alternate location by security with our much reason…very suspect.
Interval international contacted the friend desk but no refund was offered. Best they can do is move us into an alternate room. I asked the first night but all that was offered was housekeeping.
Pillows are suitable for maybe only a child. Mattress are paper thin and appear to be oversized 15-20 years old.

Stains on bed sheet,
Pretty ghetto, tap holding batteries to control, TVs have no connection, the board to iron by far disgusting! It just didn’t seem clean, they just keep all the stuff with rust and display with nice counters and cabinets.

We’ve been staying her a couple weeks now. The rooms are nice and spacious, has a divided living room area separate from the rooms. Beds and pillows are comfy. The have complimentary breakfast in the mornings.. eggs and sausage. We enjoy the nice pool and Jacuzzi area. The staff has been very helpful and according us. And they have security so I feel safe !
