On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, Americans will be able to start ordering their Covid-19 home test kits. While this is good news, tests are shipping within 7-12 days. This is N T GOOD NEWS for those who live in areas where the weather can further impact and delay delivery. In Southern California we are spared the horrendous weather, however, what if we need the home test right now? COVINA PHARMACY had purchased wisely and as of Friday, January 14th, the Covid-19 home-19 tests can be purchased at the pharmacy. Your personal insurance company should reimburse you for your purchase of the home test but you may wish to verify with your insurer as some have agreements with certain pharmacies and only for the single test. Please call COVINA PHARMACY, (626) 915-6615 for availability. Covina Pharmacy is located at 174 West Badillo Street in downtown Covina, at the southeast corner of Badillo and South Third Avenue, west of Citrus Avenue and directly across the street from the Holy Trinity Episcopalian church. Covina Pharmacy 's hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm, closed on weekends. Phone number is (626) 915-6615. Covina Pharmacy has a very knowledgeable and friendly staff, and give very personalized service. The owner and licensed pharmacist, Virginia sincerely cares about my health and well-being and treats me like family. My post is not solicited nor for profit. They have been my pharmacy of choice since childhood. Actually, my parents chose them and I decided not to change even when I moved out of the area.

This will be a long post to tell my ENTIRE story, (sorry) First let me start by stating my condition, I have Rheumatoid arthritis, and also have severe Neuropathy. (impossible to work without Pain meds, and even everyday activities are very difficult if not impossible at times) OK, here we go: I have been going to Covina Pharmacy for around 8 yrs and service was great when dealing with Terry (except for the waiting, which I will get to later on) BUT after they got robbed and Terry left/ quit, the place just went downhill from there! The new help was horrible! I am on OXY 10/325 and get 150 pills per month and never had issues BUT during the past year or so "Virginia" who is the owner and pharmacist, told me I need to fill more RX than just my pain meds! I asked why? she said it was due to the DEA, AND the medical supplier require more meds than just pain killers! ( I knew she was full of s**** but but I needed my pain meds) She kept insisting I order Blood pressure meds and told her I do not need this med! On and on we went for several months about blood pressure pills!! I sure needed them after dealing with her again! LOL Then she even stated I must not live far because that is a red flag! I told her my doctor is in Ca. right across the street from you and I live in Glendora, Ca. ( 5 miles away) and she asked for proof!! After several years of doing business with this pharmacy,WTF is this cooze going on about! I then asked her about Lyrica (being she needed more Rx to be filled) and she said, first, its too expensive at around $700 but the main issue is the DEA is making LYRICA a schedule 1 or 2 drug so I cant add that to my order, I said WHAT! THAT IS NOT AN OPIOID! Then she came up with the blood pressure pills again!!! (she must make a killing on these pills) found out she was lying once again!! Then all of a sudden after they get my RX usually on Wednesdays, AND on Friday, I come in to pick up my RX I still have to wait 30-45 minutes and sometimes an HOUR (I am not the only one, many complain and have left) before paying for my RX which varies in price too! By the way, my RX should be ready to pick up, pay and leave!! OK, so I ask why am I waiting so long and VIRGINIA tells me they have to wait for a response from the DEA via email to complete the refill !! (such s**** BUT I can clearly see the very young and ignorant help just walks around looking busy and not doing anything, and when I walked up to ask is that my RX she says Oh Yeah, give me a minute! LOL It was sitting there most likely for 30 minutes! She never looked at the refill box! I should not have to do this and ask! My Rx falls on a Sunday every 30 days and they are closed on weekends so they refill on Friday before the weekend. Now as for pricing, one month I pay $125, following month Then $200, then back to $145 because Virginia was not there that day!!! Then when she got back, it was now $185!!! The price was always the same at $125 when Terry had worked there in the past!! I can even see paying $145 but to change the price to suit your needs is purely ridiculous NOW, Then just last month (Sept 2021) she stated I need to reduce my pain meds and try 120 pills!! THEN 90, etc because I was taking too many! I told her I need these pills for work AND you are not my doctor BUT YET you are pushing blood pressure meds on me! I decided enough was enough! *****You may ask why put up with this garbage, well you are right. I was an idiot and never really thought to go elsewhere being so used to this pharmacy and thought it would be a real PIA changing according to this joke of a pharmacist! as I told her I was moving. I was d*** and ignorant to not change quickly! It was just very convenient because the pain doctor was right across the street! I went to a few BIG BOX stores so to speak, CVS, Walmart, etc and the average price for OXY 10/325 was around $350.00!! AND SOME WOULD NOT EVEN FILL THE RX FOR 150 PILLS! or at the very least tell me I can only order 10 pills! LMFAO (Sav-on) So I searched small pharmacies and on the first call I found my savior so

Covina Pharmacy always saves me money. When I switched to Kaiser instead of my old doctor who turned me to her. My diabetic meds were expensive and the people there always found savings for me even when my old medical insurance overcharged me and Terri said it would be cheaper to pay cash than use the insurance. Kaiser wants $344.77 for 1 bottle of Lantus Insulin and they charge only $289.00 at Covina Pharmacy. The owner is very friendly but usually in the back working on prescriptions. Great people and prices, check them out or transfer your prescriptions if you use Kaiser.

Used to use this pharmacy alit when I was with my old doctor but went to Kaiser and found out later Kaiser is more expensive than here. I am a diabetic and these guys have always looked out for my precious pennies. Kaiser was going to charge me $344.77 for 1 bottle of Lantus Insulin and this place charges only $289.00. They saved me $65 bucks and they know if there are deals out and offer them if they know about it. The owner is awesome.
