I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kong, her medical assistant Carol, and the other staff members at Cotati Small Animal Hospital. Our 12-year-old dog arrived in serious condition, and, while there is no cure for his kidney failure, Dr. Kong came up with a treatment plan that is enabling him to enjoy life again for as long as he has left. His eyes are bright again; he has a little pep; she has helped bring him back from death's door. The folks there all treat our little guy with tenderness and treat us with compassion. Dr. Kong also helped us consider the costs of different treatment paths so we could decide what was right for us. Plus, she calls after hours, after long days treating patients, to give us updates when necessary.

Dr. Kong was my go-to vet for my senior dog and gave her the best care that she could. She really went above and beyond - she immediately diagnosed her with a UTI when other vets previously dismissed it, she would be on-call with us even after hours when my dog's dementia/anxiety got the best of her, and she always updated us on our pets as soon as any test results came in. Till my dog's last moments Dr. Kong and her staff remained with us and they were so gentle the whole time. This place really cared for all of the animals we brought in!

Happy to be able to bring my two dogs to Dr. Kong at Cotati Small Animal Hospital. She's very thorough and knowledgable. Took over an hour with us (two dogs, first visit) and caught a positive anaplasma on my new little rescue pup. My oldest dog has been licking and chewing her paws for 4 years. Vets have always noticed it, but that was it. One look and Dr. Kong said it's the result an allergy and here's what we're gonna do to treat it. For FOUR YEARS nobody has given me an action beyond the question "does she lick her paws?" yes. Yes she does. Since she was 8 weeks old she has licked her paws and that is why they are rust colored. We all knew this. Oh. You mean there's something we can DO for her? Well, thank you Dr. Kong! Taffy shall have relief soon. The staff is fantastic, and you can tell they all really like each other. Plus they have therapy dogs in there to boot. ALSO! Yes, there's MORE! I got right in at a time when it's nearly impossible to get an appointment as a new patient. Very grateful to have been referred by my friend to Dr. Kong. Five stars. More if I could.

I brought my dog here because he started piddling in his sleep and my other vet had been injured and was out of his practice. I was told by the vet here that she thought he had a neurological disorder and would lose function of his hindquarters. She told me that in order to be referred to the neurologist I would have to first do x-rays and rule out arthritis. I moved forward with the x-rays and she told me that he had arthritis but what was more concerning was that there was a mass in the lower part of his spine. We then had him scheduled for ultrasounds to see what the mess was. His sub lumbar lymph nodes or swollen and without notifying me they did a fine needle aspiration of the lymph. I was told it could be a simple infection, inflammation, or cancer. She said she was concerned that it was cancerous. When the test results came in she told me that they found atypical cells that she thought were cancerous. She wanted me to come back in and do the same procedure a second time so that she could take a larger sample for a proper diagnosis. I decided to look for a second opinion. In doing my own research I found that the most typical form of Cancer associated with swelling of the lymph is anal gland adenocarcinoma. I called her office many times to see if she had checked his anal glands. After finding another doctor I received a call back from her THREE WEEKS LATER when her office was contacted to forward his paperwork. The specific type of cancer associated with the lymph has an estimated two months of lifespan and she waited THREE WEEKS to return my call. She had in fact NOT checked his anal glands and said "yeah that's a good idea, bring him in!" I was not going to give her another penny and she did check him for free but it was a very awkward conversation. It is now been about six months and his condition remains because I chose not to put him on a medication that may deteriorate other organs. Turns out... he's just an old dog experiencing incontinence. The other vet showed me the paperwork from this office and there was nothing in the paperwork that said atypical cells were found. She lied and left me terrified I would lose my baby many times over. Oh and also made over $3000 on my fear.

Just started going to Cotati Small Animal Hospital and so far I'm very pleased. I have 4 puppies, ageing from 17 1/2 years old to under a year old. With such a range in ages things can change in a heartbeat. If I have one issue it's the hours, Monday thru Thursday 8-4. These hours can be very challenging to work with and can create some major problems.

We have been coming here for over 15 years with our multiple pets. They are on time mostly, and very knowledgeable. The most important thing is I can trust them. They don't bill for ridiculous things like other vets and they are accommodating in being cost effective if you can only spend a certain amount. They care about the pets and the staff and vets are great. We have seen other vets in pinch emergencies but are always disappointed and are excessively charged. I always wind up back here and I like them.

When I relocated to Santa Rosa from Pacifica all I found was large veterinarians corporations who only cared about money. One day I was talking with a neighbor about this subject. He told me about Cotati Small Animal Hospital, so I tried them and I can say I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. I would recommend them anytime to anyone who has a pet. Did I mention that they have a LARGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL for horses, cows and other farm/ranch animals ?

So far this vet has been great. The doctors are very nice and so is the staff. They don't do unnecessary tests to ring up your bill. Like the last vet I went to they did that practically every time I took my dog to the vet. Anyways I'm very glad I switched to Cotati Small Animal Hospital. I have a cat and so far they have taken great care of her.

My fiancé and I recently got a new puppy and have been taking him to cotati small animal by a recommendation from the breeder we got him from and we have loved it! The staff has been very friendly and have been so accommodating when we needed to get our puppy in to see the vet quickly. Dr. Davis is awesome!! He's super personable and knowledgeable and has made time every visit to come chat with us about our puppy's condition in person (wearing a mask of course) even though we aren't allowed inside right now due to covid. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does and cares about his patients. We couldn't be happier with our experience so far!

I've been taking my dogs to Cotati Small Animal Hospital since 1979. I started with Dr Groverman, and then along with Dr Cook. And now, Dr Kong has joined the practice! My dogs have presented normal things, and some very unusual and complicated things for the Doctors to deal with. They made referrals when necessary, and handled the follow up from those referrals wonderfully. I have NEVER had a bad experience in all the years and the many visits my dogs have had. The Veterinarians are polite, personal and most of all, professional, honest and skilled. I have trust in Dr Cook and now Dr Kong (Dr Groverman has retired) to care for my dogs and for me!
