Amazing folks that love Jesus and feeding God's people. All faiths welcome to volunteer and they always need help and I encourage you to volunteer and help geed the homeless and less fortunate. We cooked pancakes and scrambled eggs and sausage and chicken and made veggie boxes to hand out???❤️

This is a review of the volunteering experience and not the soup kitchen.Never have I experienced such a rude, condescending, and patronizing staff while volunteering. I volunteered with a group of friends on a Saturday, and the staff we worked with exhibited poor leadership and management. They consistently berated the volunteers (including high school students) by criticizing that we were “not listening” to their instructions when in reality, the directions they provided were unclear and inconsistent. By far and without a doubt, this has been the most toxic volunteering opportunity I have encountered. Perhaps the staff were overwhelmed with an excessive surplus of food, but it is still no excuse to scold individuals who are dedicating their spare (and unpaid!) time to help those who are food insecure or experiencing homelessness. Again, this may be a one-time anomaly on an unlucky day, but I would strongly recommend against volunteering here.

This food bank is amazing. The main security guard John is very awesome. Hes very observant and has a keen eye for riff raff. Very important. The rest of the staff are awesome. The older gentleman that hands out the trays is an Angel

I come to do volunteer work here to help feed needy people and low key complete community service hours ? But I love it. Loving people in charge and Lo the Chef is like a second mother to me haha. Definitely will continue to come after I complete my hours, to give back to the community ????

The organization has a good mission and if you read the history, it is very interesting. I also saw many people there getting fed and items being distributed.I stopped by to volunteer and I assume many organizations help out there. There is a gremlin hobbling woman named "Lo" or "Lori" that has joker style make up. Looking at the other reviews here, it seems like there is a common experience/theme based on other volunteer's experience. When I was there, I was told she has been working at this location for over 30 years and is a cook at the kitchen. If you volunteer here, you'll know who this is.While I was volunteering, I overheard her and another staff member talking about one of the volunteers in a disparaging manner. I also experienced (as many others have as well) very rude and inconsiderate interactions with her specifically. Unlike some of the others who are there for community service, I came to help out and assist the community, and the way I was treated did not convey any lack of appreciation and demonstrated an entitled attitude.I have donated and helped out at other charities in the past, and I encourage anyone who is thinking about blindly donating to a charity to first volunteer at one before you do. I want to know that they are being spent properly and there is a positive contribution being done. Disparaging volunteers and treating them with little respect does not meet that criteria. It is really a shame that others have had a similar experience and the organization can't do better than this with their employees, so my dollars and time will be spent somewhere else.
