Like several people who posted reviews RE the person who works in lumber (indoor finished wood): WOW he is beyond rude. I've been to lumber stores hundreds of times and this one tops it. He's got a serious attitude and no customer service, although it appears if you are a regular customer (or talk about golf) he is super friendly. He was chatting loudly with regular customers and using the F_ _ _ word left and right with other known customers it seems; fine with me but in front of customers generally (that's unprofessional)? I picked out some boards and laid them on the floor and needed to write up the cost and he assumed that I was asking him to lift the boards up and lay them on the ruler (which I was not and did not ask him to do), he said "I'm not gonna pick them up". I picked them up and set them against the ruler and just ignored him. He wrote up the cost and rudely said "Go pay over there." First of all, I brought stuff from Ganahl before and I know where to go pay, but even if I was a first-time customer and it seemed to him that if I may not know where to go pay, that's not the way to direct a customer to pay (to be rude to them). Yes, we know Ganahl lumber has been around for a long time and you've dominated the market in terms of some specific supplies, but remember that a regular customer was once a first-time customer. I'm going to guess that if you treat them decently they might become a repeat customer. Another visit to the same store to buy more wood for a table, the same guy works there it seems. There's got to be some basic customer service otherwise don't open to the public. (I have to say that my interactions with other employees in the store have been fine. For me, it's this one guy in indoor lumber desk.)

Recently ordered a new front door. The installer I was originally going to work with was apparently vastly overcharging for both the door and the installation. Will definitely look here first from here on out.

A gentleman by the name of Mark by your lumber door helped me today .
He was incredible.
He knew what I needed and where to find it.

Ellysia and her coworker whose name I did not catch in the door and window department were very helpful and kind in assisting me on how to install my new yet complicating door knobs. We didn't even purchase the door knobs from Ganahl and they were nice enough to help anyway and I am very appreciative of that. Thank you Ellysia and fellow coworker!!

No idea how this place gets such low ratings. Unlike the big box stores the staff here doesn't play hide n seek with you. They acknowledge you and help you if you need it. From paint recommendations to working with specific woods the staff is always helpful and very knowledgeable. Picking up wood? Buy what you want then drive into their warehouse where you'll be helped by a well-staffed lumber team that will cut the wood and even help you load it into your vehicle. Unlike the big box stores the staff will actually cut the wood with near perfect accuracy. I once picked up 3 sheets of 4x5 Baltic birch plywood and needed the plywood to be as close to 2x5 for my project and to fit into my SUV and the person who helped me had it within 2/32 of an inch in accuracy. This is one of those places I'm willing to spend more to avoid the big box stores but funny enough S4S lumber is cheaper here than at the big box stores where your lumber is almost certainly always cupping or twisted and rarely S4S. Highly recommended!

*Read reviews on these common mistakes on Yelp. Ganahl will do nothing to help you once they've taken your money. Review: As another review has noted. Avoid Flora for doors and windows. She placed the wrong order for us for a very expensive folding exterior door. Our door was supposed to be hinged on the opposite side than what was delivered. We reiterated we wanted the door to open and close to the right when standing inside our home multiple times during our 2 hour+ meeting and she put the order as opening to the right when standing outside and had our contractor sign documents that everything is correct and make payment. After our installers came out and we realized the issue we called and talked to Flora that transfers us to the manager Vince who tells us that whatever is in writing is what matters and we are lucky our other two orders came out correctly (since all of our descriptions with Flora were from doors and windows opening inside the home). Ultimately blaming our contractor and us for not reviewing the documentation instead of accepting responsibility for the error on their side. Stated that the documents always show from outside looking in, but the document images were never reviewed with us before we confirmed the order. Vince explains there is tiny print that notes "images from outside." I'm a health care professional and read charts all day, so I am used to assessing important documentation, but these documents are not easy to decipher without someone properly explaining them to you and Flora did not do that. That is a failure in communication. Unfortunately instead of working with us towards a feasible resolution Vince kept referring to their legal documents, demonstrating the kind of customer service you will get after your purchase is complete. We didn't read the reviews on yelp before making this expensive purchase, blindly trusting Ganahl lumber to be the best place for sliding and folding doors because of the size of the company. Just avoid at all costs. You will have regrets. Best to work with reps directly from the manufacturer not Ganahl per our installers who noted this is not the first time they've had this experience. So far our resolution per Ganahl is to pay several thousands for a brand new folding door on our dime with a 10% discount. This is not acceptable, if we come to a fair resolution I will update this review accordingly.

Mark was extremely helpful, courteous, and represents Ganahl with high integrity. He went beyond the call of duty in explaining how to install our floating shelves, helped us pick out the wood, and loaded it all up into our car. Excellent service and personality!!! Will definitely come back, thanks to Mark!!

The customer service here is next level. And available to help you, imagine that! I had some projects that needed to be finished around the house, I always go to Home Depot, and I'm always disappointed. There's never anyone to help you even though it seems like there's employees everywhere actively avoiding everyone. Ganahl is basically the opposite. Everyone is super helpful, they color match paint, staining and finishes, their vibe is just that they're genuinely there to help you, and that's what I need when I walk into a hardware store lol

This review is specifically for an employee, Simon Zervos in the paint department who went above and beyond helping me today figure out a deck stain fiasco I had. After going to Home Depot and Dunn Edwards with zero help and rude customer service, I finally tried Ganhal by the referral of one of the customers at Dunn Edwards in line. It was such a pleasure working with him, and now has a customer for life. Thank you! It's so hard to find good customer service anymore!

I went into Ganahl at 7:20am 12/6/23 as a regular customer as I have been for 20+ years continuing 3 times a week. As I was already currently having a wonderful morning, I got into the warehouse in the morning and I had approached a bald African American gentleman for help, as I asked for a forklift for a 6x6x12 DF RO he had his attention on some random scanner in his hand, he then proceeded to shake his bald head with sweat on it ignoring me saying he did not have any 6x6x12 DF RO when it was the third row to the right and he proceeded to not acknowledge me. I think this is unprofessional due to lack of work for my employees and time spent off my job site when I'm prepping. I have always had good customer service every-time I go in this was the 3rd bad experience in 20 years. I was being nice enough to cut this bald gentleman a break, but this was a 3rd incident due to a different problem each time. I hope they get some worthy workers in there that know what they are doing. On another note, I went back at 10:30am to pick up some paint as I asked a short gal for help and she seemed to not want to interact when it came down to business, so instead of wasting time I then had to proceed and head to a different store down the road which was vista paint. On another note when i was walking out of the store at 10:42am I had a curly hair gentleman buy the front questioning me for a receipt when I had a former receipt in my hand from 2 hrs ago he had approached me in a very rude manner when I never even bought anything inside the store at that time. I had yard material on my truck from earlier that morning and they were 2x4x16 because I never got my 6x6 ro This just goes to show how bad service can be at mom and pop businesses. If I could give this rating 0 stars I would. Please everyone who reads do not do businesses with these people!!!!!!!!! DO NOT
