2024 update
Still going to CMAH, but a different cat now. Charlie was taken by coyotes. Now Artemis. She gave me 15 years of grief in the first 3 weeks at our house. I was ready to give her the shot. But, as it turns out she is my loving kitty now and spends hours on my lap with a snore that sounds a little wheezy. Good check ups for her for the past 6 years now. I get flea treatment from them in the form of a pill, and she has actually gotten good at taking it, none of my blood on the floor! The doctors are still great there, each of them. And super staff. BUT, if you are boarding a cat, please note it is a mixed group with dogs barking in the kennels. Look in the cat's eyes for how they are feeling about that!

Both my cat and I had great experiences with these vets. Well, I probably had a better one than he did, if you know how cats are with vets. I usually went for regular check ups, but once we had tooth problems, and they handled it with great care. I always found them to be very reasonably priced compared to similar services provided by other local cathouses (ha!). I plan to take my next one there.

Great, especially compared with my previous place that was happy to take my $800, without ANY consultation.

I quit going there because of a few reasons, now I know I will never go back. I'm livid and cannot even talk right now.

I've given this place a few too many chances. The front desk has one young woman who seems to like her job, the rest are rude and difficult, at best. If you care about your pet DO NOT bring them here. I brought my dog in for an eye issue, but instead of treating his eye, Dr. Paladin did 3 other unnecessary procedures including a fecal test--around $100 each. He looked at my paperwork hoping to find a vaccine he could give him....which I did not agree to since I was there for his EYE. I paid almost $400 and his eye was still closed. I go back the next day and he says he thinks it's allergies--and sells me $45 eye drops and tries to sell me their brand of dog food. His one eye is still closed, so I finally took him to a different vet and they immediately said they could see a scratch on his eye and provided the appropriate medications and he healed quickly. They said it was definitely NOT allergies. Of course, this was an additional $300, but at least they weren't just trying to rip me off and do NOTHING to help my dog. I am disgusted with this place and will NEVER go back. Dr. Donnelly is ok, ask for him if you have no other choice.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET do NOT go here. DR.PALADIN is AWFUL AND INCOMPETENT. I brought my dog in for an eye issue, but instead he did 3 other unnecessary procedures to my dog, including a fecal test (for $100 each without asking) snd said it was allergies. Meanwhile, my dog still couldn’t open his eye. I took my dog back again for his eye and he STILL MISDIAGNOSED him, and suggested $40 eye drops. I will NEVER go back.
UPDATE: I took my dog to a different vet and she found a scratch on his eye, he was given the appropriate medicines and is finally healing. But another $300 bill.

Took my dogs here, was switching to another vet closer to my house and the quote they gave me was high. I called Costa Mesa to see how much they would charge for the same procedures, thinking I should bring him back there. The woman told me that she can't give me pricing until he comes in and I pay for a visit. What a quick way to lose business. I'll never go back there. Money grab.

I've taken my pet here many times (thousands of dollars). I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but the workers up front are miserable and the doctors guilt trip you into all kinds of upcharges you dont need. Half the time the receptionists are too busy texting or gossiping to even notice you. I was actively checking out paying my bill one time and I asked a question but the receptionist was watching the TV in the lobby, looked over at me and said, "Huh?" like I was an inconvenience.

Don't rely on the website to book your appointment. I drove all the way from Long Beach (I had moved, used to live nearby) to Newport Beach and was informed "oh, we don't check the website." They couldn't squeeze me in and were unwilling to have one of the vets stay after the last appointment. Consequently, my dogs wound had to wait a day until I made an appointment closer to home.
So why the F was it set up in the first place? Either management doesn't care, is incompetent, or is busy squeezing every $ out without spending anything to support the practice. None of those are things I want to deal with.
I went there for years and am not going back.

Came here one day because my cat was having issues with the litter and Ron Paladin the vet had no communication just said to do a urinalysis and after 5 hours of waiting we come back to a $400 bill of him just racking everything on without communicating what we want done, and when I brought up the bad practice all I got were shrugged shoulders and a sorry.

I took my cat to be seen by this team at a time when she was very ill from being misdiagnosed and mistreated by another vet. The Costa Mesa Animal Hospital team took my cat in and properly diagnosed her, took care of her, provided her with all the medication she needed, and brought her back to health! I no longer live nearby, but I make the 45 minute drive to come have my cat treated by the wonderful and talented team here because I trust they will do everything they can to properly care for her. I now recommend this vet to all my friends and family with pets. Thank you to the Costa Mesa Animal Hospital team for taking great care of my fluffy friend!
