This Citi Branch is awful. I waited for it to open at 10 am to take cash out. The manager told me she had no teller and that I should drive to another Citi Bank branch to withdraw money. It is very clear why this bank's branches are closing left and right.

I open Citibank account when I moved in Costa Mesa 13 years ago and I'm glad I did now my mom and my daughter has their own Citibank account. I never have issue, all the teller esp JP, Sara and Brooke are always helpful and don't have to wait long.

The tellers are so kind, so helpful.. One, especially, is JP. JP calls me by name whenever I'm there. Recently, I was feeling really depressed (my hubs died a few months ago.) The next day, JP came over to the teller with whom I was processing a transaction and said, "Hi, Flo." JP made my day. I felt light-hearted walking all the way home.

Beware Investment Advisors at Citi. Last Dec 2021, citi branch setup my mom to get investment advise. Advisor Anna persuade my mom to invest all her svgs into a Franklin municipal bond fund. Less than 1 mos, the fund dropped over $5k, and by 5th mos, it dropped $16k more than 11%. Noted my mom is 81 yrs old, do not speak English, and has NO grammar school, not any investment background. I filed a compliant to Citi investigation team. What it came back was she was in suitable investment because her tolerance level is "moderate", and investment knowledge is "moderate". How on earth does a 81 yrs old widow evaluated as "moderate" risk + experienced investor? Then I find out the decision of "suitable fit" was based on "new acct form" she signed. Anna asked my mom signed an open account form (in English), computer-typed by her, ck box "moderate" investment exp, and moderate risk. So my mom never knew what she signed, but was told in chinese that it was an open account form.I was present, and I did asked "shouldn't we wait until next year because Fed is increasing rate, and wouldn't this bond fund goes down?" Anna replied, she followed this fund over 20yrs, and it is very safe and will go back up eventually if it goes down one year. So far, my mom has lost $16,000 over 11% in this fund within 6 mos. And I later find out citi advisors receives commission from clients and being year-end, advisors must be desperate to meet quotas. Also, Please be aware there is no such thing as "Compliant dept" because there is no person's name who email you nor contact phone no. (Only they can talk justify they're right, but you can never talk to anyone! ) When you call and file a compliant, they take your compliant and after 1-mo reply your email with some ridiculous excuses that your investment is right fit, it is just your bad luck investing on the market. BE AWARE OF THE AGENT, "ANNA L"She service Arcadia, Irvine, SG valley. I had to trace her 3 branches to find her#.

My husband and I went to open a joint bank account and we made an appointment online with Gerardo (jerry). He was absolutely amazing! He made sure we understood all the details of each checking account they offered. There was nobody when we came in, but afterwards there was a line of people and I felt bad because they are very shortstaffed like everyone else, so rememeber to be kind and patient and expect a wait. Everyone at this branch is super friendly and willing to help!

I would NEVER recommend doing business with Citibank! I tried multiple times trying to open an account online, but their system did not work. Then, I tried calling to do it over the phone, and finally succeeded after multiple attempts due to their unreliable phone system towards the beginning of the pandemic. Once it was opened, they would not grant me online access to deposit money until signature package was signed and returned via USPS mail. Well, I never received it and unbeknownst to me, my account was closed because they did not receive that signature card within a certain time frame.I called again to open, but I kept getting mixed information saying that I no longer qualified for promotion. Once, I learned that I still qualified for promotion, I opened up an account via phone. However, I kept running into mail delays because they send all correspondence via USPS mail. Finally, I decided to go to the Costa Mesa branch and met with the Branch Manager Devoi Eduad to move forward with opening my account. She was a pleasure to deal with, but she informed me that my account was closed again, and to open another one. I kept asking her if she was sure that the account was indeed closed. I told her that my main reason was to get the promotion for opening the account, and she said she was positive that it closed, and that I still qualified for the promotion. After finally making my deposit, I later get notification that I no longer qualified for promotion because I had an existing account open. I asked her to look into it, and she said there was nothing she could do. Basically, Devoi screwed me out of $$$ promotion by forcing me to open another account because she failed to complete the process of the account I previously opened over the phone.I was so disappointed because I patiently waited all that time to open a checking account with a bonus, and then get nothing but stress and headaches in the end. Because of this, I closed my accounts with Citibank, and took my money elsewhere. Most banking institutions are much easier and quicker to deal with. You can easily open accounts online with higher interest rates that only takes minutes to open.Citibank's process is far too complicated, flawed, and long. Their website doesn't work, when you call to do business with them on the phone, no one calls you back to follow-up on finishing the process. You have to wait a while for someone to approve your application to open an account. Then, when you get tired of waiting for approval, you go into a branch and deal with the manager who doesn't know what they are doing! Please take your money and business to a better bank!

Everyone in this branch are really nice. This review is a little overdue but I did some transactions sometime Friday May 3rd. I admit it was a little busy, the line was long, maybe 4 or 5 people in line, but what should I expect on a first Friday of the month. There is not much tellers like the old days but I rather deal with that than having this branch closed like what corporate did to the other good branches and having to drive further. I don't really write reviews as I only use yelp for address but reading these comments seems not fair for the hard working people that works at this location. They are really nice, from management to the tellers, everyone tries to smile and very apologetic especially that some of the customers are giving them a hard time and attitude. Some people feels very entitled. Just saying.

My recent visits to this branch has always been good. Though there is a line at times but that didn't bother me. I chose to go to the physical bank instead of using my mobile or the ATM, no big deal right there. During this few visits for my banking, the staff including the Branch Manager are very pleasant to work with. I've known this Branch Manager (Ms. Eduad) back in a Citibank location in Edinger when she was a teller. I remember her so well because of her bubbly personality. Always smiling and very helpful. The bankers in this location are always willing to help, they go extra mile. They assisted me with my online banking when I had issues with it. And One time during rush hour the line was very long. Ms Eduad walks through the line and asks every single customer if she can help them. Some she took some to the ATM and some to her desk, I had to wait in line since I have to make that deposit for my boss. I recommended a lot of my friends and co workers to bank here. Well, every Citibank location I visited, they've always been good to me, this one is just my favorite.

Citibank seems FAR behind other banks: I have to wait 2 days for my money if checks are deposited in ATM. When I go inside there are 2 tellers for 8 people in line. Sometimes ther randomly hold money regardless of my balance Today (Monday) I was told they know Monday mornings are busy, yet they do not increase tellers to accommodate more customers. Today I went inside to deposit a check so I dont have to wait the 2 days and expected all of the funds to be available since my balance was 3 times the check amount and they randomly are holding my money for 2 days!! Their phone people have NEVER been able to solve my problems. One time, regarding a single 6 DAY CHECK HOLD I literally talked to 6 or 7 different phone reps and LITERALLY GOT 6 DIFFERENT REASONS NONE OF WHICH SOLVED THE ISSUE, AND ALL OF WHICH WERE INACCURATE!! I'm not reviewing just 1 branch, but the entire organization as there are constant inconsistencies and problems. I'm leaving Citibank

Without warning, my business account was frozen just as my payroll was hitting. The payroll was denied and the first I knew something was wrong was when my payroll company called me. I drove to the bank only to find out that branches no longer have the power to unfreeze an account; it must go through NYC and even when the bank is in the wrong, it can (and in my case, did) take them up to four days to unfreeze the account. So why was it frozen? No one could tell me for hours until someone determined I had not filled out a survey asking the name of my company, how many people we had on my payroll and how much money passed through my business account every year. Gee, I've only banked there 12 years. How about calling me (as the bank has done several times before) before taking such drastic action? How about honoring my payroll since there were ample funds in the account and I've had the same payroll company for 12 years? Suffice to say, I'm gone. Bank of America branches have the power to unfreeze an account at branch level and they're treating me like I matter. CITIBANK, on the other hand, has refused to reimburse me any of the $800 cost incurred by denying my payroll. I'm disgusted.

Welcome to Citibank. My name is Joe L., and I'm the Duke. As cool as that sounds...well, you have no idea. Unless you've read my review for the 17th Street location, that is. This location is not much different, but it is larger and busier. I've never seen a line at 17th Street, but there is often one here. I know what you're asking: why on Earth do you wait in line at the bank? I guess... because I'm the Duke? Anyway, the tellers are nice here. Quite frankly, they could move a little faster, though. Oh, yeah, I recently got charged a monthly fee, which caused my account to be overdrawn. So uncool! Banks.

Went in to transfer 3 business accounts over to Citibank. After waiting for about 20 min someone told me the only person who could help me (Jerry) was busy and would take about 40 min, basically telling me he could not help me today. I left the branch and went to Chase to transfer my accounts. I remember Citibank's customer service being so much better than this.

I got tiered of being screwed over by the big banks. Too many fees, poor service and many locations are closing. Do yourself a favor and join a credit union. I belong to Schools First Federal CU, they ABSOLUTELY are the best!!! Great service, plenty of tellers and great services.
