My baby walrus sized dog was paralyzed from the neck down in November. He was a wet noodle. A 130lb sack of potatoes with jello legs. I’m sure we looked crazy too from the shock, and the sleep deprivation. We were referred here by the neurologist after his surgery, and Animal Wellness Center of OC accommodated everything. They booked us in 2x a week, and we showed up religiously. The entire facility celebrated the day Maximus took his first steps.Dr. Ellis is an absolute gem. After meeting Dr. Ellis, I knew we were in the right place. They have a full sized pool, which has been essential in Maximus’ recovery. We also utilize the underwater treadmill now that Max is strong enough to use it. Every session before hydrotherapy, Dr. Ellis lugs my massive dog around doing floor rehab exercises, which I’m positive has not been easy- especially in the beginning. As the weeks went by I kept noticing different modifications they made to accommodate my dog- putting mats down on the ramp to the pool, putting towels down on the scary parts of the floor. I would say at this point they love Maximus almost as much as I do, and they’re just as invested in his recovery as I am.I am so grateful that Lourdes and Barb created this place. Thank you Dr. Ellis and Alexa, Kelly, Lourdes, and everyone else for the hard work you all put in- and continue to put in- rehabbing Maximus. Animal Wellness Center of OC saved his life. Thank you for being part of his village.

Wonderful place for our dog's therapy! Our dog Patsy has been getting acupuncture and water therapy at AWC and her back leg is stronger. She's 13 with severe arthritis and weak muscles, so we weren't expecting miracles, but the fact is, she's now able to at least get up, on her own, at least 60% of time! Dr Ellis & Alexa have been Patsy's primary care givers, but all the folks who work here are very kind, caring and sympathetic...I would recommend them without hesitation!

My dog Izzy LOVES it here! She does acupuncture, laser, physical therapy and her favorite is hydrotherapy! She went from being scared and unable to walk to a happy healthy pup, who literally runs into the wellness center with excitement, in just a few months! I can’t recommend them enough!

Met the owner and toured the venue. Wonderful resource for dedicated fur parents seeking hydrotherapy and other treatments for their babies. The facility and team are top notch - you can tell by the pride, detail and good vibes at the venue. Highly recommend.

Two senior dogs; one with a bad heart and blown knee and one who inexplicably became hind feet "paralyzed". I was overwhelmed on what to do after getting the above diagnosis' -Enter Animal Wellness whom I used once before with outstanding results. The compassion, the expertise and the available resources had me so impressed. The wave therapy for pain and healing for one dog and the acupuncture for the other were just a few of the non invasive options they offered. I think I was most surprised by how easily the staff,Dr., and Assistants gained both of my dogs trust. I can't thank you all enough for going above and beyond in helping my little ones. A special shout out to Barb who always had a full plate yet still managed to find ways to make my future visits easy, and my current visits stress free. Heartfelt Gratitude and Thanks to All at Animal Wellness; your love of helping our pets has made a huge, positive difference in my dogs and my own quality of Life

I called to get some info for my old lady lab, hoping to find good therapy for her. After just a brief phone interaction, I would NEVER come here! For one, their prices are outrageous, way more than any other place I checked within an hour's drive, and their packages don't even make sense. It was pulling teeth just to try to figure out their pricing (why is it so hard?) and then they quoted some acupuncture package that ended up being MORE PER SESSION than just paying for them individually. What a scam!!! I originally spoke to Danielle who was super sweet, but then I called back and spoke to Barb (who appears to be an owner or something?) and wow! She was so short and grouchy with me, like how dare I call to inquire about therapy for my dog, and then she wouldn't even give me any more information which I needed so I could check with my pet insurance. So I'm supposed to just come in for some overpriced exam and then be blindsided with therapy prices? I had also asked about how they keep their pool clean (my vet recommended hydrotherapy for my girl) because I don't want her swimming in contaminated water and I know accidents happen with older dogs, I mean she might even have an accident. They just said they try to avoid that situation because it's difficult to clean up, but they have filters or whatever. That doesn't sound very clean to me! I just wanted to find someone that I could trust to take care of my dog who is a stiff old lady and was met with greed and nastiness from people who supposedly care about your pet. If that's how they treat people on the phone, I would never trust them with my baby girl.

Lourdes, Barb, and the staff at Animal Wellness of OC is by far the best center we could have brought Ozzie to. Ozzie is a senior large breed with the standard age related physical issues. Kelly and the staff at AWOOC make his weekly swim therapy fun and stimulating. When the dog gets excited and eagerly looks forward to his swim therapy, you know they are doing something really great.

On Sundays, The Family Vet has the clinic and we see Dr. T-Na Tran for acupuncture. My Angel LuLu has bradycardia and back disc problems, so we're working on these health issues. If you've a pet in need, this is your go-to place. Thank you Dr. Tran and Elias for the 20+ years of taking care of my furry kids❤️❤️

Don't even bother contacting for an appointment. You fill out a form online and they NEVER get back to you, or pick up the phone. So much for customer service. We were looking to get some prices but have decided to stick with our family vet for treatment. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Don't even bother or waste your time, barely even deserves a 1-star rating. And they are pricy! Not worth it.

I have been bringing my senior Maltese here weekly for several years for both acupuncture and ozone with the amazing Dr. Voulgaris - and chiropractic adjustments with laser with Dr. Block, who is also excellent. In the last few months Animal Wellness of OC has added canine massage, with Tracey Sciarra, who is absolutely INCREDIBLE! She is truly gifted and connects with my dog on a soulful level. I can see the change in little Sophie as she relaxes and her energy shifts. I joke that I also experience second hand massage because it's surprisingly relaxing and peaceful to watch. After her first massage, my little dog, who normally moves slowly, practically ran into the same room the next time we were there! Tracey has a remarkable ability to connect with animals and is beyond gifted. The effects are obvious and especially therapeutic for my dog, who struggles with chronic health issues... and the results linger for several days. I highly recommend Animal Wellness and all of their practitioners, but especially canine massage with Tracey. Treat your pup to one of the best experiences of their life!

This review is meant to detail the treatment my pet received and the communication had with office staff and ownership. My pet had a follow up consultation for which I was given a specific plan and cost of service. I was hesitant to have a follow up consultation before my pet was through his first round of aqua therapy, but I was told that the center would not continue the treatment (which was already prepaid) until a follow up consultation was had. The kicker is that that I would be billed for the 2nd consultation. Essentially, the office told me I needed to pay more money for the services that I already paid for. My only choices were to pay an additional fee or surrender the prepaid treatment. An unenviable position to be in as a consumer and vulnerable pet owner. Feeling forced into the decision, I agreed to pay the consultation follow up fee. I was assured that at the end of the consultation, a targeted treatment plan would be developed and the cost of the future treatment would be clearly detailed, to which I would have the option to agree or disagree. Unfortunately, neither happened. After my pet was assessed, a general treatment plan that consisted primarily of home therapy was recommended. This recommendation was no different than the recommended treatment from his first visit. I was effectively coerced into paying an additional fee for the same information to be given. My wife then inquired about alternative treatments, none of which were brought up by the doctor, including cold laser therapy. Rather than discussing the pros/cons of the therapy and certainly not discussing the cost of the treatment at all, the doctor immediately began the treatment. It's important to know that the doctor had not even brought up cold laser therapy to this point. We were simply asking questions about the treatment and the viability for our pet. The visit seemed like a very trial and error approach instead of the personalized treatment plan we were promised. At the conclusion of the session, feeling both confused as to the plan of treatment going forward and lacking confidence in the recommendations we received, we were quickly told to "check out" at the front desk. To our surprise, we were being billed nearly double the agreed upon fee for the consultation. Sure enough, the cold laser therapy, which was not recommended nor discussed by the doctor, was added to our bill. Yes, the treatment was performed. Was the cost communicated to us beforehand? No. Did we have the option to discuss how cold laser would impact our pet before the treatment was rendered? No. The whole session felt like a science project approach where the plan was to "figure it out as we go." Adding insult to injury, costs were added to the visit without our knowledge or consent. The review detailed above is my regrettable experience. It's written to hopefully make potential customers aware of the type of service and experience they can expect to receive.
