I quit years ago because the pool, the only facility I needed, was constantly filthy. Any chance that it has CONSISTENTLY improved?

It's kind of dirty. 24 hour fitness used to be good.. 10 years ago. The staff needs to start wiping stuff down, vacuuming and taking care of stuff. The machines are near rotting.
I love working out so I'm going to go here but it's just dirty come on.

Horrible experience with one of the trainers. They don’t have many to choose from but the female was really bad. I didn’t expect much but it was worse than I expected. They hire teenagers here who have no previous experience only a “certification”. For the price of $100 a session I expect someone who can actually train me and not gossip to other people during our session. So unprofessional. Avoid this dirty location. Avoid this “trainer”.

I've been going to this gym frequently for the past 2 years and can say its a little rough. The equipment is not maintained well or even replaced in a timely manner. For what we pay compared to what we get I cant blame any of the other reviews on here.
The staff are pretty cool but dont expect much if your not a social person. They will leave you alone mostly.
This gym can get REALLY busy during their peak hours, so consider that if you have no choice but to show up during those hours (5pm -10pm it is the literal DMV in there).
Overall, if this place is closest to you, id say its worth it. If you live even more than 5 minutes away, spend the money somewhere else.

Horrible experience from the training department. I was placed with the female trainer and she had no knowledge or even interest in our session. She was pretty rude and would have conversations with other people during our session. I guess this is what you get when you choose to train at a commercial gym like 24. I will be going to a private studio from now on where they actually know what they are doing. I dont even know her name but I attached a photo so you can AVOID this employee.

Met the manager Brandon. He is super friendly and asked my opinion about what the club needs. I suggested a hack squat machine and a hip thrust machine for leg days. He checked back with me a few days later and said he is working on purchasing these.

The guy who is at the reception today at 9 p.m. has been super kind to us.
The rest was very good, but the best was the attention received.

Wow, where to begin.... maintenance maintenance maintenance ... the machines are beat... most have the weight numbers worn off...the adjustments are rusted in position, making it impossible to adjust for your body type... the members are generally nice..but could do without the groups of teenagers that literally plant themselves at one machine then hold places for others who are on another machine... at least 8 of them do this over and over again, making it impossible to get a turn. What is this a high school?... the management is friendly but really don't do anything other play catch with a ball... sit on the counter on their phones... I don't work here and I could find things for them to do...there are hundreds of to dos....here's one.. start with a little WD-40 on some of the machine adjusts

As seeing other reviews, I should’ve expected this. I have been touring other gyms as I am moving to the area. I go into this location with my 3 free day pass I signed up for, and immediately a worker (from a distance) exclaims “can I even help you?” Walks up to the computer I’m at to sign in, immediately exits out of all my progress, and claims since I’m not a resident I can’t tour/use the facility with my pass. She was demanding proof of residency, and saying I didn’t read the fine print and she can prove to me that I didn’t read it. Extremely rude. Why post on your website that I can use and the. Have an employee power trip me saying I can’t. I will be reporting this to the better Business Bureau for false claims.

Sigh. This gym perfectly encapsulates all the stereotypes about how shallow and mean Southern Californians can be. There are a lot of people here obsessed with their image and are deeply self-centered and disappointing. I do not understand the point of “looking good” if you are ugly on the inside.
I know this sounds harsh but I want to share a story:
I was on the stair master earlier this month and it malfunctioned horribly. It went from 0 - 100 in a second, the emergency button was not working despite pressing it multiple times, and I fell really hard (with a nice injury on my leg now to prove it). No one came to help. The guy behind me with a front row seat to me falling and getting slammed on the ground just decided to continue his stretches. It was like I did not even exist.
No one bothered to ask if I am okay. Listen, I am an NJ girl. In my homestate, people would get off their machine and lend a helping hand after seeing you get hurt that way I did. No questions asked.
After shaking off the shock from falling, I wobbled all the way to front desk to let the person working there know that no one should go on that machine again until it is shut down and inspected because it is so dangerous. There should have been ZERO time wasted in doing that.
Instead, multiple people tried to go on after me and I wobbled all the way back to help stop them. It took far too long for them to shut the machine down (anywhere between 30 - 60 minutes). That creates too much potential for more people getting hurt.
I hope I have much better experiences at this gym. For now, it really represents what can make people feel very uneasy and uncomfortable about the culture of Southern California/the Newport area: the people here have a tendency to be far too inhumane and superficial.
Some other notes:
- The gym is unhygienic. Vast majority of people do not clean the equipment before or after using it.
- Do not expect a gym culture of people helping each other out. It is more of a culture of being full of yourself (I feel sad to write this).
- If you keep the above points in mind, and can work through harsh lighting, smells, and noise, the gym is okay. You can mostly get in, get your workout done, get out.

My compliments to your front desk reception person CHRIS . This gentleman exemplifies customer service beyond expectations! He is so customer oriented and a credit to your team. This employee goes far beyond his role to make people feel welcomed . He is constantly working and fulfilling his assigned responsibilities. Congratulations management for having employees like CHRIS.

This is the worst 24 hour gym I’ve been to, sadly it’s closest to home. Blatantly neglected equipment, drinking fountain has no pressure, broken everything. The management really hates their customers, willfully neglecting everything for profit, that’s really going to kill 24’s reputation.
