“I've come to this store multiple times and I always had a great experience. It's even better if you need help finding the right tools or materials for a project because you'll always find someone ready to help.”
“Great place to pick up Benjamin Moore paints. I order online and pick it up to avoid wait times (which aren’t that long but I always end up leaving with things I didn’t intend on buying ?). Great customer service and they do occasional sales! Grateful this is my neighborhood hardware store.”
“Customer service is #1! Finally moving out of the city and somehow attaining a backyard, my hunt for a new grill led me to Jackson’s as they are one of the few distributors of the brand I was interested in. From the moment I spoke to an associate on the phone, I knew I was working with qualified and passionate people. Chris was super knowledgeable and validated (as well as expanded) much of the prior research I had done online. Not pushy, yet professional and (again) passionate. My timing was fortunate as it lined up closely with their big annual sale. Since it was shaping up to be a larger purchase, they scheduled an early sale private shopping session for me before the official sale started. Chris made the extra effort to be there during my shopping session and continued to be a huge help. I look forward to having Jackson’s as my go-to hardware store. If you value customer service, you should make them yours as well.”
“Needed some applewood pellets for my smoker. I called, they told me they stored the pellets away for the season but happy to check to see if they had the applewood. They did and brought up a bag from storage and had it at the counter for me when I came to pick it up. Needed it because I'm making homemade bacon”
“I love this place! Ok, I love hardware stores. It's got just about everything you'll need (no it's NOT home despot, which has its place in the annuals of hardware stores.) They have a lovely garden section with great help, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable (Ask for Peter.) They always have great seasonal selections as well as vegetable starter plants. Plus they always have good holiday decorations and inspiration. Their crew is a bit eccentric, which I think is a plus!”
“One of the nicest places in the city! They moved ailes in a different direction, and there are a lot more supplies and items to buy. It is also a great store to get greeting cards and toys and cleaners. Great for families!”
“I went in looking for a simple, but sturdy plastic board to support the end of a cage that was an inch longer than the end of the counter. Sam made sure I chose the right kind of plastic (I didn't know there was even a difference) to survive what this board would be exposed to (bleach, cleansers). Well, the board is perfect and thank you, Sam, for suggesting one corner be rounded. I could not think of anything I would have done differently. It's perfect.”
“Terrific local hardware store! I love everyone who works here, they are friendly and helpful, and I have always found everything that I need - from warm Christmas lights that were somehow sold out everywhere else, to a full kit of stuff to clean, repair and repaint a shed.Highly recommend. Come support this business!”
“The Best Hardware store in The Tenderloin CA. Basically you can find Anything And Everything You need to Build Or Repair... also the Best and Professional Workers! THANK YOU SHIPPING ON PEERLESS!”
“They have everything you might need for property/ apartment repairs.
I have come here to find pieces of lumber. They are great at cutting lumber to the requested measurements.
The workers are always polite and helpful when it comes to pointing you in the right direction. There is commercial parking right in the front for easy loading. They also have a warehouse right across the street which contains more lumber.
Great location and a helpful place to go to if you are in the city.”
“It was hella easy.
To find .
After getting lost.
And chased a mile by wild dogs.
Maybethe Burger King wrappers stuck to my shoe was overkill but I was trying y hardest to keep it chill.”

“The old lady working here was extremely helpful in assisting me with my shopping and I totally didn’t expect her to go out of her way to make sure I got what I really wanted to get. Proof that some family-owned businesses are better!”
“What do you need? They have one. And if they don’t, Coles is around the corner at twice the price. What’s not to love? I always go here first though. No need to go to a big box store. This place (and Coles) have what you need.”
“This is your quintessential neighborhood hardware store! Jonathan, Charlie, Albert and company are extremely helpful with nearly every project we are tasked with completing. Thanks guys for the many years of your expertise, insight, humor and good ole fashion customer service!”
“Small hardware store but very complete. With less variety of products due to the size of the store, but you can find everything.
The staff was extremely friendly, they helped me find what I needed and gave me good product recommendations.”
“This hardware store is amazing they have many different items that you could find anything you need in the hardware and other things and the customer service is awesome”
“I enjoyed my shopping and advices that I received. Amazed by the lumber section on the back of the store. It’s like a hidden lumber store in the back with shelves and pallets stacked high up with different materials that many different construction companies will need to have.”
“Went to this local shops for my home project, bought some cast iron fittings and pipes. Cast iron fitting are in good prices within inflation ranges (compares to big shop like home depot, they charge like crazy!). Pipes both have imported and USA to suit your need, I pick up the imported one, quite a budget choice compare to USA version, first glance, decent quality. They have lots of copper pipe and fittings too, seems like a handy place for our nearby neighborhood. Inflation killed a lots of small business, price got up like crazy everywhere. I try to support these small business as I can, comparing to big chain merchants like Home Depot they do not care price hiking.”
“Service was quick and keys work perfectly. They also have a lot of other household stuff and hardware. Will definitely be back as I prefer to support the small local businesses like these than all the large chains that are starting to pop up everywhere.”
“I have always received excellent customer service from Ace Hardware in Marin. Yesterday I was greeted with the comment, “May I help you?” And the service provided could not have been fully anticipated. John Troller went to the source; that is, the instruction manual of a new faucet available on the shelf. Three of us at home had worked on this faucet trying to fix it. John was able to fix it quickly, efficiently. I am very appreciative of his assistance. Now I do not have to call a plumber. The whole experience was actually enjoyable for me. Another fine Ace visit.”
“Cute couple that run this Ace.
After visiting several hardware stores over the past three weeks, I was FINALLY able to have copies of my keys made here!
Quick key service!”
“These guys are a local business and are incredibly helpful and easy to work with! I came in with a challenging project and Mario helped me get all the right materials to complete a successfully!”

“I needed a turnbuckle and fast. Not a single Ace Hardaware (or Lowes or Home Depot) had it in stock except in Fairfax. Picked it up curbside and Rupa brought it to my car. It was 1/2 and inch too big. Went looking for the next size smaller, only Fairfax had it. Picked it up first thing in the morning great service. Every employee was interested in me getting what I needed and Rupa searched it out for me and told me to return the first one for a refund. I had only been to this hardware/garden/curio store once before this weekend but all three of my experiences their were somehow better than any other hardware store. And I have been to a lot of hardware stores.”
“Very helpful staff! Shan probably made me 25 samples before I decided on my colors and even had the paint delivered to my house. Definitely recommend Dunn Edwards for the best quality paint and shopping experience.”
“Excellent Service, resulting from strong knowledge and actually caring about their customers. Gives them a small town community hardware store feel, with the inventory one would expect in a city. Love this place.”
“Very nice and helpful staff. The store is on the smaller side but has all the hardware store essentials plus some. The prices are average, and the location is a lot more convenient.”
“Had a great experience here. I came in looking for copper elbow and nipple piping and a wonderful gentleman by the name of Nico helped me out. He was incredibly helpful, curtious and brought me to what I needed almost immedietly. Pleasant conversation and incredibly homey vibe to this place. Will be coming back.”
“I don't write a lot of reviews, in fact it's probably been years since my last one, but I have to give a Big Shout Out to Rob Melia and the rest of the staff at Ferguson's in Corte Madera. I had a problem with an order, and Rob could not of been nicer in helping me resolve it. He certainly went above and beyond, going the extra mile to help me. These days when customer service is almost nonexistent, it was refreshing to see it's alive and well at Ferguson's and says a lot about the company. If you need anything to do with plumbing supplies, I'm happy to give my unconditional recommendation to them--you won't be disappointed.”
