Best organization of all the Crate & Barrel in the bay area. Was in the Walnut Creek one today. This location has clearly grouped sections and well labelled inventory. It's been thoughtfully organized and no need to "find" the item displayed. I also felt the staff was very helpful and friendly, even when just browsing and not imposing.

How do you lose a couch??? After 6 months of waiting and an extra 2 week delay. A custom design couch was lost in delivery!!! How the frack does that happen? How does a company this large lose a couch. I can't wrap my head around it, it's unfathomable. There's a no return policy on custom made pieces and we have yet to receive it. "Give us our delivery fee back, offer to loan us another couch", why are these offers made by the company something that is supposed to make this experience better? They have to remake the couch, another long wait!! Nothing about this makes any sense! HOW do you lose a couch during delivery to a warehouse, HOW?

So, management reached out and apologized for the behavior of their staff at this location, and awarded me a gift certificate. I do hope that staff gets regular training about this sort of thing. The silverware arrived in the mail one at a time, which was inefficient. They are a close match to the set we already own, but are not exactly the same. Planned obsolescence.I appreciate the customer service, but I think I will always be a bit more guarded when I go into that store.

UPDATE: I'm impressed that C&B actually responded to my review, which shows to me that they actually care about the customer experience. So when another designer, Rose, did reach out to me, I decided to give them another shot. I'm glad I did. Rose was wonderful, pleasant and easy to work with. She came to measure our house, then we met at CB for her to show us the products she recommended. She listened well and gave us terrific suggestions. We ended up ordering a dining set, counter stools, sectional, chairs, rug, and more because of her excellent customer service. We will definitely ask for her again when we are in need of more furnishings. The only criticism I have now of the C&B home design program is that a significant percentage of the products we were interested in were not available to see/try out in person in store. I understand the space issue so wouldn't take a star off for that, but it would be nice to be able to try out furniture before ordering it, especially since many items are "custom" and non-returnable. Overall, though, I'm back to be being a happy C&B customer. I've been back twice since purchasing the furniture to get other home goods and have had excellent customer service both times too.

Nice store. Too much space is dedicated to furniture and home decor. I would rather see more selection of the things that C&B is known for: dinnerware, flatware, etc.

We had a blast. We were assisted by Rose and Marietta and had an excellent experience at Crate. They helped us choosing the right model of sofa and kitchenware and their tips were very useful. Very friendly staff there. Will go back for sure !

Purchased my couch on August 2022, was told that if we open a C&B account and pay through them, we’ll get 20% of the purchase price back in rewards towards future purchases. At 7k, 20% is a decent amount back, so we agreed. So far, we’ve gotten half of those credits only. For the rest, all we get is a bunch of sob stories. at this point, the customer service is downright garbage. When did crate and barrel become a glorified ikea?

Curbside pickup just doesn't work.First time they gave me an incomplete order. Had to return to the store to deal with the customer service rep for about 30min before being told that the item they said was included in my pickup was now out of stock. The second time I sat waiting for 10min after checking in before eventually going to speak to someone. Was then told that the system wasn't working. In both cases it was quicker just to go into the store.

I went into the store today to return a chair that I borrowed and paid for in full so I could see how the chair would look in my home. I went to the back of the store where I originally picked up the chair to make the return and the lady there told me that she is with another customer, it will take awhile for her to help this other customer, and to find someone else to help me. Really? I had to carry and lug this chair around the store to find someone else to help me. Instead of saying, I'll be right with you as soon as possible after I help this other customer, she told me to find someone else to help me because she was busy. Clearly she hasn't been trained properly in customer service and her skills are extremely lacking. But, then again, that's why she works in retail and not at a tech company. I'm being sarcastic but serious. I wish I got her name. She gave me attitude when she saw me carrying the chair towards her. If I were crate & barrel, I would re-train her again. She has no customer service skills whatsoever and was rude in my opinion. She's an older lady working in the back area. If you run into her, don't expect her to help you!
