I really love how this practice treats you like one of the family. When you walk in, there’s a sign that your pet is part of their family. You can see that the staff treats your pets with love and you can see that they have fun together, which is a great sign for how a family -like environment it really is there. We love bringing ing our Barley in for her visits!

I've been coming here for my Lab for the past 2 years and never have I experienced the most awkward and relatively unprofessional visit to get him a flu shot. Everything was fine up until payment was required. I walked up to the counter, and a blonde nurse/receptionist makes no eye contact and simply hands over the mobile payment device with the total displayed, expecting I simply pay. I mean where does one go to any business and is expected to pay for a service without any mention of what's owed? Awkward... So I ask can you please charge it to the card on file, which I've done on every occasion before, and once she realizes it's under my partners name when I asked to lookup our account, she says she can't find it and quick to her defenses. I ask how then did you provide a shot for my dog and not already know the owners name? Makes no sense. She said they have a new system and whatever other excuse and then says she can call my partner to get payment info, I agree. Next thing, I am expecting to give them her phone number and they quickly find it and call her. What the heck!? You couldn't find her name, but then are able to find her phone number!? My partner answers, makes payment, and I then ask are we expected to bring a physical payment each time, which is fine, we both have a shared card but recently lost mine and would like to accrue airline points with our purchases. Other lady says I can try and save it in our system and apparently she said it actually saved, and proceeds to say " oh you know how computers are".Sidenote, Dr comes in the receptionist area to give a file and instructions to the blonde lady and she responds that she has a lot on her plate or something to that effect, the Dr responds that she knows and also has a lot of tasks to complete as well, wryly smiling back. Who speaks back to the Dr like that in front of customers!?She needs a vacation, a lesson in professionalism, or simply find another line of work, either way poor customer service experience, I don't really want to go back.

I cannot express how grateful I am to have stumbled upon this office while traveling out of state. The staff is so friendly that I felt as if I’ve known them for a long time. From the front desk to the back every employee showed such compassion, care, and kindness. Dr Paar is hands down the best Dr I have EVER EVER had the pleasure of meeting. She was very informative as well as understanding my dogs anxiety issues. She and the team made him feel very comfortable during tooth extractions. I was soooooo nervous as any fur parent would be to have a procedure done, but Dr Paar and the team made me feel calm and confident. I wish I could bring this entire team back to my hometown for future vet visits. I highly recommend!!

We previously had an elderly cat that we took to another local vet and had horrible experiences with them. So...when we adopted two 2-year-old cats from the humane society late last year, we delayed taking them to a vet due to our anxiety and wanting our new additions to settle into their new home and family before traumatizing them with a vet visit. When we recently noticed one of our cats had tapeworms, we knew we had to find a vet. We decided to give Purple Paws a chance, and so glad we did. They got us in that afternoon and immediately took us to the examining room to begin the examination process. One of our cats is very skittish and shy, but Dr. Paar and the assistants were wonderful with both cats. My husband and I were relieved that our kitties responded well to the experience and appreciated Purple Paws' courteous and knowledgeable staff.

NEGATIVE STARS! Wow this place is HORRIBLE! Never ever go to or trust Dr. Robert Tugent at Purple Paws. He admitted to lying regarding positive lab results. For 3 weeks we brought our sick puppy in and have gotten the run around for this sickness to that sickness and never ever gotten proper treatment plan that made the puppy feel better. Charged soooooo much money. Went for a second opinion at another place because nothing added up in the end and my puppy was getting sicker and sicker then got the real truth. Never ever go to this place or listen to Dr. Robert Tugent. Shame on you!Wowwwww I am so disgusted to see the responses from your company on people that write reviews and you have the audacity to comment back and say “ are you sure you have the right company we don’t see you in our system” wowwwww that is despicable. CLOSE THIS COMPANY FOR GOOD.

Brought our pet here for his regular care after arriving in SD. He presented several signs of allergies and we expressed our concerns. We received treatment, but not after being told how irresponsible it was for us to bring him across the country on our move. Talk about ignorance! The one time we had a good experience here was when we dealt with Dr. Paar, who gave us so much hope that this clinic was not all that bad. But we rarely ever saw her, and every visit after that was a merry-go-round emotionally and financially.Between the financial, emotional, and logistical toll that this clinic put us through, we have since switched to a much better vet clinic. Be sure to weigh your options before choosing who should care for your furbabies!

Took my dog here who seemed to be sick, we came here looking for answers and a cure. They told us they were not concerned and pushed us away. Besides the high prices and the little concern they had on our pup we proceeded to try another vet days later. The new vet told us he was in critical condition and insisted on testing and regulations of the heart beat. Going to purple paws was pointless and very expensive they did nothing to help my 2 year old dog . I hope people who are looking for answers for a sick pet stay far away from this place as they only see you has a pay check and really do not care for your animals. Im extremely frustrated on having to watch my miserable dog have to wait longer because we were told by “professionals” that he was perfectly fine. So glad we trusted our gut and not the ignorant vets at purple paws and took him to a much more affordable and reliable facility. DO NOT GO HERE !

We brought our puppy to Purple Paws and had a fantastic experience. The staff were all attentive and sweet. Dr. Paar was excellent and our whole visit was as easy can be. We had a long list of things we needed and the team was able to accommodate all of them. 100% recommend bringing your pup here.

So incredibly distressed I ever thought this was a decent business, but will NEVER go back!! I was sent home even though my cat had an infection without antibiotics or reasonable treatment plan. During the time spent trying Dr Turgend's lack of a plan (it will heal in time on its own) my cat's infection spread significantly. Now my cat has had 2 painful surgeries and is still not out of the woods! Please never, NEVER trust your beloved animal to this "Dr" or clinic!! So incredibly hurting for my fur baby... don't let yours fall prey to this practice!!

Stay far far far away from this place! Run if you can far far far away. I took my dog in for emergency care because she was bleeding profusely from her rear. The Vet didn't really know the problem, however, took action to try and stem the flow of blood. Nothing worked, not a thing. I was told by the Vet after the was there for 3 hours getting an IV that my dog may not make it through the night. I stood there while they talked and worked up my bill, went over it and i as told it was $1100+, however, that amount would cover both days as they wanted her back in the next day. Well my dog did pass away that night. I returned in the morning with my now dead dog. They said they would take care of her she call me later on in the day, which i would assume would be a partial refund for no service for the second day. Nope they said they were keeping it all, that the $1100+ was just one day. I did not get the invoice when I left and on was not offered as my dog that was still alive had to be wrapped to stop the bleeding and carried to the car. My bad i should have gotten the invoice, but hey my dog was dying. Yet, I stood there with my girlfriend who also heard the cost was for both days. To add insult to injury they told me it would be an additional $85 to have the dog cremated. I would tell you to please please find another vet, this one will rip you off and not bat an eye doing so.

They've taken care of my buddy Franklin a couple of times when he wasn't feeling his jovial self, and although we had decent experiences before, I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. They canceled my order of Bravecto with Chewy.com. I called to see what the issue may be and I was told he is due for his annual visit before they will approve the prescription. I asked how much an annual visit is and they said $79. So let me get this straight. You want me to take time out of my work day to bring Franklin in so you can tell me he is perfectly fine for $79 and then try to sell me on whatever hocus pocus you come up with, along with paying for the Bravecto prescription? Sounds like some tomfoolery to me and a straight money grab. Heck, I don't even go to the doctor once a year, only if I have an issue. Anyways, I found a website, budgetvetcare.com, that'll ship the Bravecto to me without a prescription. Adios Purple Paws, your silly policy lost you a client.
