Purple Paws refused to fill a recent prescription for a special food written by another local vet. My dog had a GI tract situation and needed special food that they carry. My normal vet was out of stock and recommended Petco or a large Pet chain but I like to shop locally and I thought that by presenting the prescription, I could get some of this food locally to tide me over until I could find a supply. Because I was not a client-I was given a hard no (without a thorough explanation of the rules) I just wanted a few cans while I waited for the delivery of a larger supply. Either you care for animals or you care about making money/getting more customers. It was a really disappointing experience.

Used ZumiVet and the vets recommend/work here. The treatment is good and they care about the animals but the communication sucks. They have like one email reminder a month before the appointment, I brought 3 of my cats for teeth removal to find out that they called a month ago to cancel the appointment. Just called that day on the 13th, afaik no texts no emails.

They advertise services that they don't provide (new clients and walk ins) plus the attitude of the people at the front is a little rude.

Recommend this place because the ZumiVet vets work here. Treatment is good and they're good to my cats but communication sucks. Showed up today with 3 cats for dental work but was told the appointment was cancelled, they called twice on the same day a month ago. No email reminders, text reminders or other calls. If you're fine with that I think they treat my pets great but I'm going to find a vet clinic that communicates better. They've texted me before for appointment reminders as well last year.

The staff at purple paws is incredible! My 10 year old cat was extremely sick and they were able to take her in right away, even as a new patient. Dr. Tugend saved her life. We're three weeks out from treatment now and she is 100% better and it's like she was never sick. They're fairly priced and very knowledgeable. I'm so grateful for everyone at Purple Paws and because of them my cat is still alive and well.

Best groomer ever!! Kat does a fantastic job with Willow. Our golden doodle always comes out happy-- and fluffy and clean!! Kat seems to really love the dogs and enjoy their transformation :) I've gone to a lot of groomers and have finally found The One! Thank you!

I really love how this practice treats you like one of the family. When you walk in, there’s a sign that your pet is part of their family. You can see that the staff treats your pets with love and you can see that they have fun together, which is a great sign for how a family -like environment it really is there. We love bringing ing our Barley in for her visits!

I've been coming here for my Lab for the past 2 years and never have I experienced the most awkward and relatively unprofessional visit to get him a flu shot. Everything was fine up until payment was required. I walked up to the counter, and a blonde nurse/receptionist makes no eye contact and simply hands over the mobile payment device with the total displayed, expecting I simply pay. I mean where does one go to any business and is expected to pay for a service without any mention of what's owed? Awkward... So I ask can you please charge it to the card on file, which I've done on every occasion before, and once she realizes it's under my partners name when I asked to lookup our account, she says she can't find it and quick to her defenses. I ask how then did you provide a shot for my dog and not already know the owners name? Makes no sense. She said they have a new system and whatever other excuse and then says she can call my partner to get payment info, I agree. Next thing, I am expecting to give them her phone number and they quickly find it and call her. What the heck!? You couldn't find her name, but then are able to find her phone number!? My partner answers, makes payment, and I then ask are we expected to bring a physical payment each time, which is fine, we both have a shared card but recently lost mine and would like to accrue airline points with our purchases. Other lady says I can try and save it in our system and apparently she said it actually saved, and proceeds to say " oh you know how computers are".Sidenote, Dr comes in the receptionist area to give a file and instructions to the blonde lady and she responds that she has a lot on her plate or something to that effect, the Dr responds that she knows and also has a lot of tasks to complete as well, wryly smiling back. Who speaks back to the Dr like that in front of customers!?She needs a vacation, a lesson in professionalism, or simply find another line of work, either way poor customer service experience, I don't really want to go back.

Brought our pet here for his regular care after arriving in SD. He presented several signs of allergies and we expressed our concerns. We received treatment, but not after being told how irresponsible it was for us to bring him across the country on our move. Talk about ignorance!
The one time we had a good experience here was when we dealt with Dr. Paar, who gave us so much hope that this clinic was not all that bad. But we rarely ever saw her, and every visit after that was a merry-go-round emotionally and financially.
Between the financial, emotional, and logistical toll that this clinic put us through, we have since switched to a much better vet clinic. Be sure to weigh your options before choosing who should care for your furbabies!

Cosmo loves getting groomed at purple paws! Katerina did a great job and made him look fresh and clean and was very efficient. Thanks so much for taking good care of our little guy! We are very grateful for the ease in scheduling, fair, pricing, and kind and compassionate service. Hope to see you all again soon!

The worst experience I've ever had at a vet. I scheduled a visit for a neutering and declined a few services. Due to the optional additional services that were declined, the vet refused to proceed with the neutering. I accepted that we weren't going to come to an agreement however the vet wanted to charge me a cancelation fee. I declined that because I personally wasn't canceling. The vet was. The vet then decided to call me and bully me over the phone. Stating that she has a medical degree and knows more than me and how much better she is than me. At that point I decided that I'm never returning to this vet again. Please be safe if you choose to come here. They are very unprofessional and don't help to reach any type of solutions.
