My experience with Navy Federal was good up until I applied for a home equity loan. The loan officer kept procrastinating she took all my info and just drug it out they had approved me for credit. This was a very bias act so if you are not white do not I repeat do not apply for any type of home loans through them. This lady made of excuses like my job would not verify that I did not work for them a period of time. Myself as well as the company felt that was basically stupid who verified that a person did not work for them. The company complied with there request and she cancelled my approval for credit and the application and I have good credit. Afterwards i read that they where being sr Yes for basically discriminating of loans for people of color(blacks and latinos) so getting on the law suite is what I'd like to do because the was straight up bull. To handle business in the manner that Olivia is truly beyond me and of course there is way more to the story. I would not want to ever e even consider them at all.

Their ad to pay Amazon Prime membership with their new credit card is a scam! They refused to pay mine and then wanted $49 fee for the year! I have other investments with them that I will cancel now due to lack of help with this issue.

I can not do nothing but rant and rave to the fullest about NFCU. I the accounting took a bit to use via the app but was fixed. 2 the customer service is absolutely awesome!! 3 the account services um my jeep, my credit card, my savings everything is through NFCU. 4 just today I got a call from NFCU on fraud keep in mind when NFCU calls it shows up as NFCU via phone. Stopped 10k in fraud via debit and zelle fraud was live as we were talking. Secured the account issued a replacement and I hope they zero in on these thief. I say thank you NFCU for everything you guys have been superior from day 1, set up my Daughter as well.

I have filed 2 claims and they were both closed out from them claiming I never submitted documentation which I did provide them with receipts. Very disappointed how they do not deal with you after the initial claim and then only by email requesting documents then that's it. And this is from their credit card had I k own that I wouldn't have applied for it. Thank god capital one is my card I will be using from now on.

I applied for an Auto loan for only $9000 and they turned my down. shocking.!! I got approved by another Credit Union for a $15,000 car loan and additional 10k personal loan. just want to say "Navy Federal" is NOT the end all ! There are plenty of great credit unions out, never give up. By the way, the customer service was FABULOUS!!!

Many years ago, I really loved Navy Federal Credit Union. I recently decided to leave big banking and take 2 very large accounts back to them. I am no longer active duty, but a veteran who was actually proud to be returning to do business with them. There is no way to express just how completely stunned, and disappointed at my experience over the last few months. I have not had a working account yet, all due to things that hsv3 been completely out of my control, and through no fault of chase, which is one of the banks I was transferring from. Then to top it off, I have had such horrible experiences with rude representatives on the phone. Along with 2 times being placed on hold for 42 minutes on one call, fir which I finally hung up because I knew they were at that point closed, and I could be holding until the next day. Then to be told I should plan to be on hold for over an hour, just to get them to turn loose of money they took from my chase account, and though I have gone into branches to show my identity, they still will not close the account that they apparently opened just to get my money from chase, but then will not let me have access to no matter what I do. Needless to say, I'm absolutely not leaving chase for an institution that operates like this. I do notknow what happened to them, but it is not the same Navy Federal I was once a member of. There is no way I would entrust them with 200 dollars, much less 200k after this experience is finally handled. I'm not sure how they could still even be in business, given what this experience has been like. I am shocked that anyone would entrust them with anything. It has been such an inexcusable, and unpleasant experience from the start, and I only got as far as having them transfer the money from chase to open the account. I guess the only good thing to come from this, is that they have only held me in this hostage situation with a smaller transfered amount of money from my chase account. I did not leave chase, nor did I transfer a large amount to Navy Federal, so they harmed me no further than just several months of being an absolute maddening nonsensical outrageous business model, disregard, disrespect of my time, while holding the money they managed to take from my bank account with Chase hostage, my going into branches to prove my identity OVER AND OVER, being tossed around, cut off, hung up on, or put on hold to infinity, etc., I will eventually finally be done with this hassle, and this institution and whatever happened to it forever. Thank GOD!! So I cannot at all ever again recommend navy federal credit union for anything, most especially business as important as ones finances. That's for sure.

This is advice for anyone thinking about refinancing with Navy Federal and is already a customer- DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! I wish I would've read reviews 5 months ago, which is how long the process took. We never did refinance because they put us through so many hoops. It was obvious they wanted us to continue paying the high interest. If you currently have a mortgage with Navy Federal and want to refinance, go to any other company but this one.
