Do NOT come to this Valero! Multiple pumps were not working. I tried paying both with my Valero app and with a regular debit card on 3 separate pumps, but none of them were working. While I was there, multiple other people pulled up and drove away in frustration, just like I did. This happened on 12/15/23, so things must not have changed in quite some time. Gas here also claimed to be $4.29 a gallon, but when I pulled up to the machines, it was actually $4.39. Still a good deal, but it's scummy that they don't change their signs to actually match with the real price. Also, it didn't matter anyways since none of the pumps worked! The person working inside the gas station just looked at everyone and didn't seem to care about everyone's frustrations. A sign would've been nice.

Valero Pay-At-The-Pump is unreliable at this station. Sure, not many drivers care about gas station reviews on Yelp. Everyone only cares about the price of a gallon of gas. But here's the thing, to get in and out quick, pay at the pump has to work. The other night I was coming down Kirker Pass (westbound) and I see this Valero station. I pull in to Pump #1 with the intent to grab a few gallons and takeoff. Pump #1 didn't accept a Valero gas card. So I went inside where there were other drivers with the same problem. While I was waiting, I went to use the "all gender" restroom. It was pretty clean, maybe a "7" on a scale of 1-10. Then I speak to the cashier about my problem at Pump #1. My card worked fine, and I purchased $40 worth. The gentleman didn't say thank you, nor did he smile. In fact, he had this unpleasant look on his face. I went outside and discovered Valero gave me a 10-cent discount per gallon. I used it on Regular which was at $5.49/gal. Okay, this was last Thursday, and $5.49/gal wasn't cheap. I just checked, the price is still at $5.49. However, this Valero has a prime location at Clayton Rd & Kirker Pass Rd. That's why everything is so high, it's at the bottom of Kirker Pass Rd if you're going west. Oh, for you non-locals, Kirker Pass Road is an inter-regional route between Central and East Contra Costa County. Lots of drivers use this road to bypass major traffic congestion on Highway 4. FYI- experienced drivers only! You will drive up and over a mountain. Enjoy the scenery! Misc notes: - 1 pump per island - 2 restrooms

Valero gas stations on Clayton Road are a common sight on the roads, but the prices have reported that Valero gas stations is very overpriced One of the most common complaints about overpriced Valero gas stations is the price of their snacks and beverages. Customers have reported that the prices for these items can be significantly higher than other nearby gas stations, making it an expensive option for those on a budget. Another issue that some customers have reported is the price of car maintenance items like oil, filters, and windshield wipers. These items may be priced much higher than other auto stores or gas stations, making it an unattractive option for those who need quick and affordable maintenance. In addition to the overpriced items, some customers have also noted that the quality of the fuel may not be up to par. Some have reported that their vehicles' performance suffered after filling up at certain Valero gas stations, leading to costly repairs down the line. Despite these complaints, I have reported positive experiences at Valero gas stations, praising their convenience, cleanliness, and friendly staff. It's important to note that not all Valero gas stations are created equal, so it may be worth doing a bit of research to find a station that offers fair prices and high-quality products.

The pump #3 was pumping very slowly. So slowly the auto shutoff did not work and gas spilled all over my car. I told the attendant about and suggested he shut down the pump or put up a sign it's pumping slowly. All he said was "I told the boss earlier". He refused to shut it down or put up sign. I will never go to Valero in Clayton again.

WARNING: I know nobody checks Yelp on gas station reviews. It's all about who displays the cheapest gas prices. However, this review needs to be said. I wanted to put a couple gallons of gas in the tank before I was going to fill ip in Safeway at Antioch later that night. So I paid cash got two gallons and when I drove off noticed my miles range to empty hadn't changed. I made a U-turn and asked the manager "Apu" to check the pump on 3 and he quickly dismissed me. He told me gas prices are high and other people have complained, so next time get my gas somewhere else. Im certain that was the only brilliant thing he's said all day. Now either the gas pump wasn't working like the others have said, and they neglected to inspect the pump; Or they are purposely scamming customers. Either way they have lost me and I will take their advice by taking my business elsewhere.

I decide to come here because it's on the way to work. But ever single time I am here, the payment machine outside either never works or takes 5 minutes to load. So then I have to go inside to pay and wait another 5 minutes. I just can't be dealing with that when I'm going to be late to work. They really need to fix their machines outside

They wouldn't let you use the restroom even if you spent money in there. Oh but they demand to wear a mask and have clean hands with no place to wash them after pumping gas.

The old guy in the front always looks like he hates life. He wants to be somewhere else. Hes in a horrible mood. But I would be willing to ignore that because I just want to come buy my stuff and leave but I come by on a Sunday 930pm and they tell me they're closed. Thats ridiculous.
