Pretty easy process. The exception is City of Davis had 3 different services to mark, sewer, H²O & electical. 2 were done right away. 1 was done days after project was suppose to start. PG&E, Comcast, & ATT all responded in the time frame requested by call 811 before you dig.

First-time caller. I'm doing some landscaping and backyard work. They helped explain the process and how my contractor should call in at least 2 days prior to work. Appreciate the information to keep me and those working at my property safe. Local utilities came and marked the underground facilities.

The robot that is answering the 811 call keeps cutting out and not letting me put in a ticket. I’m a homeowner and will be doing excavating in my backyard and have called twice and keep getting thrown off the call. Saving money is probably the reason you have a robot answering the phone. I would like to know how is this...

Underground Service Alert is a nonprofit association of 1,500 utility owners in Northern California and Nevada. We are the organization to contact "before you dig" to have underground utility lines located and marked. State law in CA and NV requires excavators (homeowners, contractors, etc.) to have their dig site area checked for underground utility lines before digging. Create a locate request "ticket" 24/7 online or by calling 811 and the utility owners that have underground facilities in the vicinity will locate and mark their utility lines within two working days. This FREE service helps keep you and our underground utility infrastructure safe from damage! Physical office is open M-F 7:30am - 4:30pm excluding holidays.
