Rockler is the place to go for Cabinet and Woodworking questions including paint, stain, and hinges. Great parking, great return policy, and great people to work with.

I needed a piece of wood with the dimensions 8’ x 7” x ¾” for a class I’m taking using hand tools. You wouldn’t think it would be that hard to find. The class was making something I might really want to keep so I ignored the Poplar. Then I thought Cherry … nope nothing there. Looking around I couldn’t readily see anything long or wide enough. I did see some Walnut and found a piece that would work. My suggestion is Rockler stores should partner with the local woodworking clubs and schools to have a selection available for students.

Always friendly helpful folks there. They were very kind to let me return an item that was outside the return window. They always have a good selection of in stock tools and wood.

Take a "make + take" class! Ray is just the most knowledgeable yet patient instructor, giving expert guidance, along with a few corny jokes, to help you make something you'll be proud of! I took the 2-part charcuterie board class and though I'm a novice with arthritic hands, I now have the most beautiful creation that all my friends are ooohing and ahhhing over. The class size is small so Ray was able to give each of us individual assistance. My classmates each had different skill levels and comfort zones with saws and power tools, and what's great about Ray's technique is he communicates clearly step by step so even the most beginning level student can keep up with the more advanced participants. Outstanding instructor, outstanding class, so much so that I've signed up for another to learn how to make a lazy susan for my kitchen table!
