Had my engine machined by Kurt, and to this day its still running strong with no issues. I have a pedal to the medal attitude with every on ramp. Drive it like you stole it. Not one issue. These guys know what they are doing. I wouldn't suggest anyone else. They define the word professional. I live in las vegas now, and when I get ready to build another engine, I'm driving the miles to get back to main machine. Btw, did I mention I have over 45,000 miles on my engine? Yeah, quality over quantity.

Excellent work, good prices and I've been back many times with questions, which are always knowledgeably answered. I had heads done on a 1964 Y block, new valves, valve seats, engine runs perfect now! Thanks!

My GM crate motor of 14yrs experienced foreign object damage in a couple of cylinders and ultimately needed a refreshing to get it running again. I searched Yelp for local businesses that still even do this type of work. I contacted the few left, and after just a few minutes of talking to Kurt at Main Machine, I knew I found the right guy for my job. Kurt is an old school engine builder, been in business for 35yrs, and has (at one time) worked at all the local shops. In fact, many of the shops still open bring their difficult machining jobs to him because of his knowledge and skill. He diagnosed my engine issue and prepared an extremely reasonable quote for parts and repair. During the approx 1 month rebuild time, we communicated often for updates and possible upgrades. I picked up the engine but it took me more than a month to get it re-installed in the car due to engine bay prep, other modifications, and carb, radiator and accessory upgrades. Most days after work (and especially on Thursdays) guys from nearby shops gather to hang out and talk engines, cars, racing ,etc. I finally got the engine in and running and took it over to his shop on a Thursday afternoon. Kurt (and several of the other shop guys) checked over my work, the timing, the carb settings, etc and made it run and sound better than when I drove in! when you have access to a collection of expertise as this - you take advantage of it. I picked all their brains for tips and tricks and loved every minute of it. Kurt and Main Machine is regarded as the last and best place for this kind of work. He is looking towards retirement soon, so if you were on the fence with a job, better get it over to him soon.
