Went all the way from San Jose to give this place a try. Never seen a rock climbing focused gym. Thought it would be a great idea for a date. We go in the guy says they are understaffed and won't teach us, make fun of me because I didn't know how to put on the gear. And tell us to search up YouTube videos to study for the test to be able to rock climb. And kept telling us to just go the the smaller climbing area. We payed $60 for the visit and was there for not more than 20 minutes because they wouldn't teach us the one thing we came there for to do.

Awesome rock climbing gym - really good vibe. I’m a total newbie climbing with my experienced cousins and check in was a breeze. Staff was super friendly and kind getting harness and shoes. Special shout out to Dominic for the excellent service and warm welcome. It was really nice climbing here because it wasn’t intimidating. Just a fantastic place to climb. Super clean locker room and nice weight area. I’ll be back again next time I’m in town!

I love being a touchstone member and I love pac and iron works. DRG is the closest gym to me but I never feel welcomed to the gym and there are SOOO many cliques like it is so awkward going alone. At pac or iron works I feel like it is so easy to join whoever you want while climbing. Idk I like this gym but don't recommend if u are hella anxious like me

Great for climbing. Staff and community great. Strength training area is not up to par anymore.

Bouldering area is very and there is no auto belay system which is absolutely necessary for a climbing gym.

Had a very odd interaction with a staff member. We were told that California EBT cards were not and were never supposed to be accepted for the discounted climbing price across the touchstone gyms, however, every other gym has accepted it and the website itself says that they are accepted. If the policy for the company has changed, I understand the website might not reflect that yet, however, the website does clearly state California EBT is valid for the discounted price so it felt like this gym in particular is unilaterally deciding to not accept them despite what the company website states. I'm more than happy to update this review if contacted. I have tried contacting this gym to get clarification and have not been able to do so. Edit: manager has since reached out to rectify the situation. Great customer service.

Kinda bummed about my visit here. Bouldering was stuffed into a corner and very small. The gym itself was pretty dated and sets were months old. Weights equipment is scattered and most of the treadmills were broken. It got the job done, but this was the first rock gym I ever considered depressing.

It seems like this gym focuses more on rope climbing. The bouldering area is underwhelming and small :( during peak hours, the bouldering area gets really packed because it’s so compact. I get that the sport is inevitably going to come with risks but having a more open mat space could really prevent some injuries.

So much fun! I'm a beginner and took the intro class so that my kids can climb. Very friendly and patient staff!

I only boulder for now. The problems have been plentiful and challenging. I’ve been enjoying these touchstone climbing gyms and hope they consider to open another one towards Pittsburg, CA!

The staff was very rude. The day pass was far too expensive. 2/3 of the gym was closed for setting before a competition this weekend and it wasn’t posted anywhere at the entrance that you couldn’t use a portion of the gym. So we paid $145 to climb with 2 adults and 3 kids, but only 1/3 of the gym was accessible. I brought this up and the staff said “that’s not my problem”. I won’t be coming back to this gym and recommend you don’t either. Also, the gym was dirty, probably the dirtiest gym I’ve ever been to, the staff was worried about talking with each other instead of being attentive or cleaning. They ripped an extension cord past us without saying excuse me or anything and hit my son with it. The energy in the gym was very negative. I wish I could get back the money I wasted there today. Don’t make the same mistake.

The bouldering area is absolutely tiny and the walls are super short, maybe 12ft tall. No traverses to make longer, more interesting routes. The mats in the bouldering area were super old and blown out. Basically, bouldering is a footnote here. The ropes area looked decent. They did tell me that they will make belay partner announcements if asked, but frankly I can't see the benefit to a membership here unless you have a consistent belay partner; otherwise, you're relying on strangers to belay you and assuming the risks associated with that.Overall, the gym just isn't worth the price tag. I understand that you get access to all Touchstone gyms with the $95/mo membership, but the day pass cost for this particular location ($30) is overpriced, and the membership isn't worth it if you're only using it here. Seems like this gym needs some investment and renovation to meet the standard set by other Touchstone locations - most people climb at their closest gym most of the time. If you live in Concord and are climbing here 95% of the time, you're overpaying on this facility just to be part of the Touchstone ecosystem. This gym isn't on par with Pac Pipe, Ironworks, etc. It's the same price as Movement in SF, which has much nicer facilities, far more space, etc.

Amazing rock climbing gym with top rode, lead, and bouldering facilities. They also have a complete workout gym. Staff are very friendly and nice, will teach you belaying happily if you ask. Prices are decent as well and you can stay for the whole day! I’ve been here many times with Boy Scouts and friends and have loved it each time. :)
