Mark and Terry are so kind and very informative. They patiently answered all our questions. Mark carefully changed and cleaned my daughters violin strings. They were compassionate and thoughtful. We highly recommend you coming here. Their dad started their family business in the 1960’s please come and check them out. Also if there are any music teachers come and introduce yourself so you can build awesome relationships and get more referrals.

Wonderful family-run business with friendly, helpful staff. They service instruments for many school districts and do repairs quickly on instruments with fair prices.

The store was better before Covid. It was all open and had a large selection. Now they have most of the store closed off and the lights aren't all on. Call before you go to make sure they have what your looking for. The owners are knowledgeable.

Mom and pop music shop owned and operated by one family since 1962. Walked in today for the first time in twenty years and it felt the same as it did back in 2002. So happy to see them alive and well post pandemic!Got several new music books for trumpet and violin; felt great supporting them again all these years later. Owners were incredibly friendly, down to earth, and good people just looking to spread their love of music to others. Thank you both for chatting today. We'll be back!

I bought an old bass clarinet off craigslist in Portland back in about 1995. My wife and daughter were driving up the coast so they picked it up on the way up from the Bay Area. It needed some work when they got it home. Not only did it need new pads but there was a major crack in the upper joint. C & L replaced about a 2" long section of the body along with doing a complete re-pad. They did awesome work, that horn is still playing today.

This place is truly a local gem. It's a third generation family music store. They have any band or orchestra instrument to rent or buy, and the owners and staff will work with you or your kid to find exactly the right fit (literal size as well as what you like). They have lots of accessories and method books in stock, and will order anything they don't have. Rentals can be for the school year, summer, or calendar year. They can also refer local teachers for many instruments, and know most of the MDUSD music teachers well. They have a maintenance repair shop in the back, and their technicians will show you how to maintain your instrument. They also have a huge range of prices, from inexpensive beginner instruments to really fine ones. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

I couldn't recommend C&L Music enough! The team is uber knowledgeable (they know EVERYTHING about every instrument), very well connected and has a great relationship with all the music teachers and school programs in the area, and provide the best service, price, and experience to every person who walks in their store (even to music noobies like me!).

This is my second instrument rental from C and L. They're very knowledgeable and friendly. The instruments are used but in great condition. My daughter broke a screw on the ligature for her clarinet, possibly from her tightening too much or the age of the instrument. I did purchase the insurance but they didn't even ask, they just gave me and new one and I was on my way. We will definitely rent and purchase our future instruments from C and L.

My daughter signed up last minute to play an instrument at school. I called them and asked if they had it for rent. The woman on the phone was very kind and helpful and got me all the information I needed quickly. When we arrived the rental process was quick and easy!

Deserves zero stars. Can't go in the store. All they offer are a few junky used books outside. Only good as a walk up window if all you want is a box of reeds. I won't be returning and won't be recommending this dive. Go anywhere else.

The young lady who helped was friendly and professional. I would recommend this place to see. We needed help with a stuck mouth piece on a trumpet.

What don't I love about C & L music? They are extremely kind and have some of the best staff of the planet. We always bring my brother every time and he likes to get a new kazoo and he will use it before purchase, yes we always buy it after, and the staff doesn't get mad at him unlike in most other places. There is also a large selection of music books and a large collection of reeds for wood winds. Definitely would come here for: reeds, books, toy instruments, repairs, etc!
