Our 3.5-year-old Frenchie jumped off our bed and ruptured a disc. Griffin couldn't walk or stand up on his own. His legs were becoming more stiff as the hours went on. The local vet in Napa said we needed a neurologist and sent us for emergency care at SAGE in Redwood City. They told us that he was becoming paralyzed and that we needed to get him an MRI ($3000) and an aggressive back surgery that was only an 80% chance he recovers from this. That would cost us approx $18,000 dollars. Not to mention the aftercare costs. If we couldn't do that, then we should euthanize him humanely there that day. We cried it out and begged for an alternative so they sent us home with a gloomy diagnosis that the steroids will probably not help and to have him put down if he become fully paralyzed and struggled with his breathing. We were trying to figure out what else could be done and our family friend messaged us with Linda from Bay area Animal rescue crews information. Linda from BAY AREA ANIMAL RESCUE CREW called us and immediately suggested we take Griffin to Concord, Alpine Vet Hospital. That night we showed up to the Clinic at 6pm (they have great hours for working families too! )Linda Greeted us and took us in to meet Dr Freeman who in detail explained this Hib Laser that could help Griffin to walk again for hundreds of dollars not thousands!!!! He also did a few tests in front of us to test Griffin's reflexes. And he quickly was able to explain Parysis vs Paralysed. Griffin had a shot. And the Vet scheduled 7 visits for this HIb laser in a matter of 2 weeks. After the first treatment, it was clear we had some results. Griffin who was not lifting his head on his own, left the clinic with his head up! Linda called us that night for after care and to make sure we were doing everything in our power to give him the best chance. She double-checked our meds. She advised on what food we should be feeding him. (he wasn't eating at the time) her suggestions and help did not go in vain. I truly believe she is a godsend for our Griffin and for us. We kept him on the Steriods and he's been on some anti-inflammatories and pain meds for the last 27 days. I am happy to report Griffin is 90% better! He still doesn't take the stairs or do any jumping (we will be limiting that for a long time ) But he is walking with the occasional stumble. I feel like Linda and the Rescue crew and Dr Virk and Dr Freeman and the rest of the staff at Alpine are a Group of people who deserve this praise. And a BIG HUGE THANK YOU! OUR family is healed and this help means more to us than I can put in this review! They were kind to us and helped us as if it was their dog suffering! I will be singing your praise for years to come. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts !

Very knowledgeable people. They Care for all dogs that come in and are willing to help out with everything and anything. New puppy came with shots, spaying and micro chipping for the price that we paid. We were unfortunately unable to keep they dog so I paid them to care for the dog until she found a new home. The dog was happy, well fed and went to a loving family. They genuinely care about taking care of dogs and have so much experience. I would recommend this place, especially if you are new to having a dog. They can teach you so much. Thank you Linda for caring for Coco and assisting us with finding her a new home!!

We rescued Stark (8 month Jack Russell & Bassett Hound mix) in Aug 2019 and had a wonderful rescue experience. I submitted my application online and received a call from Darlene in a few minutes. She asked questions and wanted to make sure she had a good understanding of our wants and home environment so she could find the right dog for us. We arranged a date and time to meet and ended up taking Stark home. She was very supportive throughout the process and helped arrange for shots and neutering. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND working with Darlene and her team if you are interested in rescuing a new dog or cat.

Fantastic organization! I recently adopted a puppy from BAARC. What a great experience- caring, friendly people who are there to ensure a good match, but also a great resource after the adoption process too.

We just adopted Maisy on Friday. They were up front and honest about what they have experienced with her. She’s completely deaf but we are starting her training tomorrow to help teach us how to communicate with her and help her be the best she can be!

We recently rescued Stark from BAARC and couldn't be happier with our experience. I submitted an application Sunday morning and Darlene contacted me right away. She asked questions and took the time to understand our family and environment (we have a 5 y.o., fenced yard, etc). She acknowledged our preferences (we were interested in a lab, pointer, etc) and mentioned things to consider - they can be 70+lbs, need a lot of exercise, etc. and it led us to reconsider what might be best for our family. She described some of the dogs she currently had available and the adoption/foster process. She had just rescued Stark from another rescue in Fresno and we made arrangements to meet at their facility in Concord. We fell in love with him right away and took him home Tues. Since he was a puppy, Darlene made sure he had all his shots and set up the appointments to get him microchipped and fixed. He wasn't feeling well the first few days and she checked in regularly to see how he was doing and wanted to make sure we were ok as well. She was responsive and supportive throughout the whole process and we are so thankful she helped us bring Stark into our lives. They also provided us with a new collar, leash, dog bed and dog food! She and the BAARC team are amazing and I would highly recommend reaching out to them if you are looking for a new cat or dog.

Last year we saw a kitten at Pet Smart and filled out the paperwork. The information on the cage wasn't specific enough to say which kitten was which. It didn't matter to me, except one said it had a vaccination and the other didn't. The rescue checked their paperwork and the kittens had the current vaccine for their age. The kitten hadn't been altered because the rescue wanted to wait until it was 4-5 months old and would contact me to bring it back to Pet Smart so they could take it to the vet. I thought this was a great idea. As four months came around, I hadn't heard anything from them. So I emailed them, then called them and even spoke to them at Pet Smart. I never got any response. So when the kitten was almost six months old, I had him neutered and microchipped at my expense through ARF. To this date, they have yet to contact me to find out if he was neutered.
