We accidentally found this place driving home from somewhere. My sister looked it up and we decided to try it out. It's not that big of a place and it was a little crowd. You order from a small booth on the corner. It is a little pricey but worth it. My sister and I got the Crescent City Fried Shrimp Po'Boy . My kids got a Popcorn Shrimp Platter. The food was great. We go back often. I recommend you try this place. It does get busy but it's worth it.

This is just a review for their beignets! Our first order came out raw, but they did give us a new order. I wasn't impressed. They didn't remind me of NOLA at all. They do make them fresh to order, so that was nice (but be prepared to wait). Place is cute, though. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying the actual food one day.

Five stars for the po'boys! It was the best that I had and was very filled with it. Though I am not very much drawn into this place, the food does not disappoint. It was great, the size was good enough for a hungry stomach. Also, the price for which is just enough for what you get. Highly recommend that you visit the place and have some of their specialties. Thumbs up also for the excellent service I receive.

PROS: - Po-boy sandwiches are the shizznit here. - Can't go wrong with any of the po-boys. Just be warned, the one with oyster, has HUGE oysters. CONS: - No parking - Super busy during peak lunch hours.

You know, I pass this place up all the time and haven't had a chance to try it, either because I'm on my way somewhere, or coming to Chinatown for Chinese food, or simply there wasn't any parking when I did try. So today, I was free, there was parking and just wasn't feeling like Chinese food today, so here is my chance. When walking in, the interior looked like a combination market, restaurant. The menu was fairly extensive, so I just chose something safe. I ordered the Irish roast beef sandwich and a side of french fries. Man, I was blown away when I received it. This was not your typical roast beef sandwich, with thinly sliced roast beef and a slice of cheese. This was more like a big pile of chopped up pot roast on a hamburger bun, fully loaded. It was kind of messy, but tasted awesome. Fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Workers were nice and friendly, can't wait to come back again. 4 stars from me.

If you want to have a conversation about random food finds, then let's talk Little Jewel. It's a truly terrific Cajun/Creole restaurant located in a drab, unassuming storefront, on a drab, unassuming street in the middle of Chinatown. I don't know about you, but when I think New Orleans cuisine, Chinatown isn't exactly the first place that comes to mind. Little Jewel is part restaurant, part market, with about 2/3 of the space dedicated to dining and the rest crammed with various grocery items that you probably won't be able to easily find west of the Mississippi. The restaurant is casual; you order at the counter and then have a seat until your number is called. There are no frills here. The menu is extensive; there are probably a couple dozen iterations of po boys and plenty of other Cajun staples, most of which I was unfamiliar with since I've never been to NOLA. I suppose that's a testament to its authenticity. I didn't want to venture too far outside of my comfort zone, so I stuck with what I knew: a popcorn shrimp po boy, fully dressed, and an order of beignets. Holy moly, the food was good. I especially love the soft bread, which is supposedly sourced from New Orleans. The beignets were just as beignets should be - light and airy on the inside, hot and crisp on the outside, with a very generous dusting of powered sugar.

Came here with my boyfriend around 6 pm on a Saturday night before the Dodgers game and it was pretty busy. There's plenty of street parking all around since it's not the busy time of the day in Chinatown now. The spot is like a mini mart with food, definitely had a cool setup and vibe to it, I felt like I was in New Orleans or something. After we ordered a catfish po-boy, we sat down and waited for our number to be called. I think it took about 20-25 minutes. Honestly, I think this was my first time trying a po-boy and it was pretty good with the fried catfish and the good old po-boy sauce, topped with lettuce and tomatoes. The size of the sub was pretty big that I had to ask him to help me finish the rest of it, since I couldn't. Overall, a great little jewel I must say in the heart of Chinatown. I will be returning to try more of their menu selection in the future, or possibly the next time I attend a Dodger's game!

In Chinatown of all places. Who knew? Anyway, who cares. Great "little jewel" of a spot. Went in for a whole buncha stuff including the lobster mac n cheese, Po Boys, Gumbo, Beans & rice. Get some..
