Do NOT get a credit card from this bank. You can only pay once per month, maximum payment allowed is $600, they don't report to the credit bureaus (what's the point then, not much help with building credit), they took off the Speedway online payment link which required me to pay by phone, and now isn't refunding my deposit after I closed the account. It's over 30 days. Recommend everyone file a complaint the BBB and FDIC so at some point this bank will be held accountable.

Not a good bank. You will have probably after problem and since it's an online bank, you'll have a harder time than usually to get anyone on the phone. The site itself has a lot of issues. My personal issues are customer service and transferring money into and out of the account. I highly recommend going elsewhere. Sorry, I wanted to believe in this bank, but after more than 5 years I'm over it.

I recently opened an account with a bank that emphasizes closing the racial gap and caters to the African American community. Initially, I was drawn in by the promise of 2-day early pay after the first two direct deposits. However, this feature suddenly stopped working, and when I reached out to customer service, they were unable to provide immediate assistance. Unlike larger banks such as Navy Federal or Chase, they had to create a case to address the issue. During my Christmas travels, I encountered another problem - my card declined for almost every purchase, despite having sufficient funds. This was a frustrating experience. The final straw was when I had to dispute a Christmas purchase. The bank's dispute process proved to be incredibly lengthy, taking 10 days to even initiate a credit. This has led me to question my decision to bank with them. In conclusion, my overall experience has been disappointing, and I feel compelled to advise others to steer clear of this bank. I hope this feedback serves as a cautionary note for those considering it as their banking option. Seems as if they don't really care about the blacks because all I've got was headaches from them.

RUN, RUN, RUN! Too bad they don't have an option for zero stars. I've never been so frustrated with an FDIC Bank in my life. I paid my entire account off, and they closed my account on April 13th of this year, as of August 31, still haven't received my deposit back from this so-called bank. They have the worst customer service that I've ever seen and I'm speaking to an attorney for their fraudulent business decisions to move it forward. Good luck to you if you decide to fall for their scam.

I kept seeing the ads for this bank, so I said let me try this place. I filled out the required information, only for them to return and say that I entered the incorrect info. How, when it was my SSN and DOB? Maybe that was a sign

It has been over 5days since I was told that I received my check by mail nothing. I will never do business with this bank again. I would try to call but they are not trustworthy at all. I think that this bank is unorganized and the right doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

This bank is unreal. I opened a secured card back in 2014 with a $1,000 deposit and decided to cancel the card this last May 2023, as it didn't offer rewards, etc and I had better cards. I took them over a month with literally zero communication before I received a check in the mail. I cashed the check and two weeks later it comes back returned (ummm it's from a bank). You would think this would be high priority to them when I called (after calling my bank and confirming it wasn't on their end), and I got the "we'll contact you by end of business". That never happened. You gladly held and cashed my initial check within days and now don't want to give it back? I'm not letting this slide. Biggest red flag when a check from a BANK bounces. Disgusted.

The Manager Taylor ! AMAZING customer service! A true leadership of a young black woman! My Mother & I went into One United Bank about a month ago.Needless to say we had to take care of my fathers (whom passed away) accounts. We were having the hardest time with other estates and settling everything however one united and (Taylor) to be exact took us and cared for us as family. Stayed with us, helped us make calls regarding the accounts until is was resolved. We felt like we had someone on our side when dealing with all of the outsiders. Long story short My dads accounts and issues were resolved and my mother and I walked out of the bank better than we came in! Thanks Taylor!

Well I tried to use this black owned bank. I blocked my bank debit card to prevent transactions from going through temporarily. I've used this feature with previous banks and no problems at all. Even after blocking my card, I'd see transactions come through for my apple.com subscription and it was going through. At times causing an insufficient fund charge. The first time I called the customer service rep said it happened because the charges were pending right at the time I blocked the card. This time, I had my card blocked for 3-4 days prior and saw the same thing happen. This time I called initially the customer service rep said this should not be occurring if my debit card was blocked. Once she looked further into the issue, she came back and explained transactions will still go through on my blocked debit card IF it is a subscription based transaction. I've never had this happen at any other bank. So this bank will charge $37 for insufficient funds. I feel this is a tactic to make money. I'd hope this bank could be compared "apples to apples" with other banking establishments, but it's substandard. I will go right back to using the other peoples bank. My first loyalty is to myself and my household. I tried.

Go elsewhere! Get yourself a credit union. I signed up with them because they "for us by us" and wanted to be sure I had an account with a black bank. Deposited the $100 required for the "go black" account. Got a beautiful card in the mail and felt proud to be apart of something amazing. I never used the card or deposited any money in there because i use my credit union most often. Called today to request a card so that I can use this account for my daughter to save and they closed the account. LOL come to find out my little $100 I put in was "eaten up" by the fees and monthly maint. costs. LOL lesson learned. Ill stick with Twinstar.

All of my money was stolen out of my bank account and my daughters' account by someone hacking into my online account and transfering all of our money into another unknown account with in OneUnited. Same day someone hacked into my account and tried to zelle themselves $550. Despite me complaining for the past 3 days; the bank has not recognized my complaint or recorded it and has not acknowledged my 'Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit" to be credited the proper amount. Even though the money was transferred to one of their own accounts, the bank is not taking serious the fact that my money was taken and they have direct access where it went. Appears it could have been someone working at the bank.

I have an issue with my credit card and it has been extremely frustrating trying to find someone who can help me with my issue. All they can do is connect me with someone who handles lost or stolen cards and that is NOT my issue. I have called many times and have had no luck. I would not recommend this bank even to my worst enemy.
