This store doesn’t sell any higher end items to locals. I asked if this was all they had and they said they have some higher end stuff on eBay. I asked if I could check it out and they said no, they give it to a third party to handle that. So I wouldn’t pawn anything higher end here as they are just going to blow it out on eBay without your chance to get it back. If you come here looking for higher end nicer stuff you’re wasting your time as they won’t show people in store. Stupid policy against locals.Edit: Store responded. Store offered me a discount on an overpriced item, doesn’t have anything to do with not displaying high end items for locals to buy. Offering a discount on a mid range item doesn’t make up for the fact in multiple departments the nicest goods are not available to locals to buy back or buy in store. Most of the stuff is beat up, anything second rate they can’t get away with on eBay. If you want to see their made in USA or Japan or UK inventory, settle for the privilege you have of looking at only made in China, Indonesia or Mexico by policy. Manager displays their incompetence, instead of listening to common sense feedback tries to label as “privileged” for thinking locals should be treated at least equally as other customers. Telling me I can’t see some items for sale because I’m local and you don’t sell high end items to locals isn’t good service. I gave two stars before, but it’s one now.

Drove all the way out from El Monte because of a notice but they are closed. I don't see anything on the door, website or the letter they sent about any closure which would have saved me some time and gas. Also, wish they could be a little more helpful/flexible on the dates once in a blue moon.

This place is like home. I’ve been coming here for a long time now. Every time I come I get treated like family. I recently needed a $345 dollar loan. The item I brought was a small gold chain and junior told me he can do $315. I explained to him that I really needed that extra $30 so that I can pay my phone bill and a few other bills. I was gonna get overdraft fees and I can’t have that with everything else going on. He understood and felt my pain. He gave me the $345 like I asked. I don’t write reviews very often but I really wanted to thank Compton pawn shop and Junior personally. I really appreciate you guys. You always have my back in tough situations. This is for real!

I’m very surprised how much inventory they got. Literally anything u need. So many collectible items. I went to a few pawn shops in Hollywood and even those didn’t compare to Compton pawn shop. They also have a very friendly staff. They always willing to work with you and give you a good deal on whatever you need. Just talk to them!

This place is truly there for you when u need them. They always pay top dollar loans. I’ve brought electronics, gold, tools, and other accessories and they always offer much more then Blake’s which is literally down the street. I will be coming back. You guys are good people!

’ve called many pawn shops and most of them are so rude over the phone. Compton pawn shop is different. Junior answered the phone and he was so helpful. Although he couldn’t give me a exact quote for my gold. He caught my attention because he actually acted like he wanted to be there and help me out. He asked me to come in and we made an appointment. I brought him some scrap and they were able to pay 10 dollars more per gram then the competition. Thank god for these guys!

This is the best pawn shop in the whole universe. They are constantly offering more $ then any other pawn shop I’ve ever been to for either loans or purchases, especially when it comes to gold. They really hook u up. Compton pawn shop rocks!

Huge selection of tools. High end brands. We just started our plumbing business and they literally had everything I needed. Some of the stuff was brand spanking new. Please save yourselves the trip to Lowe’s and come here first. You will be shocked.

I’m so happy that I was able to sell my nephews guitars and amps. He stopped practicing guitar lessons and selling the equipment put some extra cash in our pockets. I was very well taken care of and got good service. Highly recommend!

They sold me gold for only 4 dollars over melting price. I couldn’t believe it. This is literally the cheapest place I’ve ever seen to buy gold. No other pawn shop compares or even comes close! I went down the street and they selling 15 bucks over melt. Come here if u don’t wanna get scammed. Thanks guys!

Bought my fender guitar here. There was a wide variety of guitars but I liked the red one that I bought. It played wonderful but it had one scratch. I pointed it out to the owner and he agreed to go down on the price a significant amount. I would definitely recommend this shop for people who are beginner guitarists as they have a lot of entry level instruments for very affordable prices.

I was referred to Compton pawn shop by the taco restaurant which is in the same plaza. Next month is my nieces quinciniera and I was shopping for a specific ring with the number 15 on it. I’m really glad I stopped by because there was such a wide variety of different “15” birthday rings. I got a rose gold ring and they gave me a great price! Thanks guys!
