This past weekend our friends and family booked 9 rooms for our wedding. I also reserved a suite with 2 rooms for my DJ and his mother. For starters reserved rooms were erased from the books and manager Dani had to come to the rescue on Friday. This first night, televisions did not work in 2 rooms. The next morning I showed up to pay for the suite I reserved. Surprise IT, amongst several other reservations had been erased. The guy at the counter played the I don't understand English card so I asked for Dani. He walked away yelling for Dani who was across the way putting out fires from the night before. She was dealing with a service tech and another gentleman when this counter guy started yelling at her and even physically pushed her. He told her to deal with me. I was soon informed the reservation I made a month in advance and confirmed the day before had been given away. Dani said someone erased the book. The counter guy, whom I assume is one of the owners had a oh well attitude and offered to put a roll away in a basic room. Not satisfactory, after a not so nice conversation I was given 2 rooms for the price of 1. To add insult to injury he attempted to over the charge me $20. To summarize the inadequate performance of this establishment: 9 rooms of which 2 more had to be compensated bringing the total to 11. 5 rooms had NO television. 2 rooms had NO HEAT. I will submit one positive note, Dani did make an effort to overcome the overwhelming chaos. She passed me a handwritten note apologizing for the mishap and said she was resigning the next day. I HOPE she did. This place makes our community LOOK BAD!!!

This is a mountain motel so yeah its older and not fancy, but it was clean and comfy. It had a fridge and microwave. Great place to stay if you are going to Columbia!Nearby activities: Columbia State Park

I wanted to come on here and personally thank danni and say she is the most helpful loving worker here and does her best to make us feel at home while there she really has a hand with making us all feel like family and that’s so wonderful ! God bless danni I would love to see her manger ! She is always ontop of everything . I always see danni runing around getting things done and I feel as tho that the other worker I think named “Andy” is no help at all to her, he stresses the poor thing out, she dose so much ! And we and all the guests here appreciates her and all that she does ! (I’ve seen danni move the furniture out from a room all by herself and I watched Andy sit outside on this rock the whole time . I just felt so bad for her ! She getting older and I know she’s got to be in pain . God bless her and I hope something is done about this !

My family has been staying at this place since August 2023. Dany has been amazing. She will listen to you if have concerns. She will make you feel comfortable at all times. On the other hand, the guy in the office Andy has been rude,nosy,creepy and very unprofessional. He walk around outside where guest can see him with only a towel on him nothing. Once he knocks on my door asking for rent and forced himself inside which I found very offensive he just thinks he can just do that to anyone. He gives that the creepy feeling everytime I have to deal with him. Andy should be talked too because he has to changed his attitude. Overall, dealing with Dany has been great. Hopefully the owners see this because Dany like I said been always there for everybody

The rooms are very nice and clean. The manager, Dani, is absolutely wonderful and treats everyone that stays like family. There is one person that works there named Andy and he is very nosy and seems to act like he deserves to know everyone’s business. My son and I are long term tenants and ever since we arrived in June, he has constantly harassed my son to the point that now my son has started to ignore him. If Andy wasn’t working, I would definitely be giving the motel 5 stars.

This motel has recently been sold to new owners and suffers badly from inconsistent customer service in that your experience will depend on the luck of whom you book your reservation with. For example, when my husband and I called to reserve a room two weeks before our arrival and we requested a ground floor room because we are elderly and my husband has back problems and cannot easily or safely navigate stairs--especially if toting luggage. The fellow that we spoke with, "Andy" (obviously a pseudonym) then assured us that we would have a ground floor room. The morning of our departure to Columbia, we once again telephoned to confirm the ground floor room. We spoke with "Andy" and he again confirmed our request. BUT, when we arrived at the motel, "Andy" stated that he "forgot" to reserve us the ground floor room and so none were available. It was only when we suggested aloud that we would look elsewhere for accommodations that he offered to help us carry our luggage up the stairs. But, this too proved to be VERY unsatisfactory because the room was plainly not ready for guests. Upon entering the room we saw a big screen TV sitting on the floor, clearly not hooked up. It took another two hours for it to be wired up to operate . So, instead of being able to relax and cat nap after our long journey, we had to remain in the room unable to rest while four or five guys wrested with setting up the TV. "Andy" was not one of them, instead he recruited a few of the long term tenants of the motel to fix this problem and bail him out of this total mess. One of these folks, Danni, is the new manager and she is an angel and has an excellent sense of customer service. She sincerely apologized for this complete fiasco, offered to help us carry our luggage down the stairs when we departed, and gave us her personal phone number to use for booking a room when or if we returned in the future. This we will do. We will never try to book a room with "Andy" and we suggest that you too ask for Danni if you want competent, reliable, and trustworthy customer service. The motel itself is very nice. The whole place has been recently renovated and the rooms have very decent amenities and are spotlessly clean. The beds are pleasantly comfortable. The new owners are very fortunate to have Danni for a manager. This woman understands great customer service and is a redeeming and super valuable asset to the business. Over the past thirty-five years we have stayed at this motel many, many times. We have seen several owners come and go. The last ones--Rob and Cheryl-- were great! If the new owners truly value their customers and have even a modicum of business acumen, they will fire "Andy" and provide Dani with a competent, service oriented assistant. Had we done business only with Danni, we would rate the motel with five stars.

Great guy runs the show, haven't been in the area for about 15 years or so, gold fever all over again! Decent clean rooms, beer and hot food within minutes. Great place to stay if you don't want to pitch a tent. 15 minutes away from Italian bar.

I really love this place and the town in general. My dad (Bob) can fly his plane to this local airport from Maryland sometime, which is my home state, and then we can all go gold mining and hangout in this old time gold mining town. Rob and Cheryl and crew here at the Inn are great people and Rob is a fellow service member who served in the gulf war era and has been trying to get his VA benefits but for some reason they "lost his service records"? I say give him and them their rightly due benefits for serving me and us and giving 14 years of his life for me as I gave him and them 4 years of my own personal service through the marine corps. I became mentally disabled permanently and I'm sure he has PTSD as well as his physical ailments too. This is a very patriotic motel and they are truly good people. Maybe sometime soon we can go gold mining together. They also sell gold mining supplies here at the Inn as well. The post office is next door and they have a small convenience store that has some amazing sandwiches next to that too. The small historic town next to it is super cool. I bought some local goat milk soap and incense sticks from the Seven sisters soap spot close by. Thank you guys for your service and I hope and pray that Rob and family get the Veterans benefits they deserve. God bless this country and let's get back to FREEDOM AND NO MORE SLAVERY. LETS LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS AS OURSELVES AND LET THE PAST BE IN THE PAST. I LOVE YOU ALL. I THINK TUOLUMNE COUNTY MIGHT BE MY HOMEBASE NOW. JUST CAUSE I LOVE YOU NO MATTER WHAT LIES WERE TOLD ABOUT ME. It was a last minute stay that was great! Really helpful staff and knowledgable! The rooms were clean and freshly remodeled and looks and feels great! I highly recommend that if your planning a visite to Colombia Ca. that you book your stay at Columbia Inn MotelFood & drinks: Located near lots of options of food

The owners of the building were so nice and giving! They greeted us when we arrived and we're very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and well kept. The Columbia Inn is surrounded by beautiful forest and fresh air it was really nice and I plan on going there again real soon!
