Jake is an excellent barista and pays a lot of attention to the quality of his ingredients. The coffee is no exception: and I'd go so far as to say it's my favorite coffee in the area. It's rare to find very high quality in touristy areas generally. This place happily breaks that stereotype. Highly recommended. Do check it out if you're visiting Columbia.Dietary restrictions: Dairy-free milk options available.Gluten-free options.Kid-friendliness: Lots of products that would appeal to kids such as ice cream

My first attempt at trying the reportedly wonderful coffee at Brown’s Coffee House was almost a failure. Hours are listed as opening at 9:00 AM, but to be safe, come after 9:30. Brown’s is a wonderful little store, with nice smooth coffee (I tried the cold brew). The barista was wonderful and willing to answer all my goofy questions. There’s usually ice cream, but the freezer is currently broken. Despite my challenges, give them a try, I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.

I really hope the owner of this place take vacation or change business. Yesterday my family with 3 kids were in line to get ice cream. The girl got out order, but only delivered the coffe - the ice cream didn’t come - so I KINDLY asked who would prepare my ice cream as I could see she went back to get new orders, and maybe, just maybe, she had forgotten because she is human and this happens. At this time, the gentleman who is the owner gave me the rudest attitude I could ever imagine. He was serving the ladie who was behind me in line and said " I am the owner here, I do whatever I want” Really? Do you know those moments when you think you are dreaming because is so chocking? That was one of that moments. The rude man kept complaining because I dare to ask about my order. In the end we asked for the money back because he kept beeing rude, aggressive and questioning us! I am pretty sure the fact that we are immigrants bother him. That was a bizarre experience. Thank goodness we got ice cream somewhere better. Also buddy, a good feedback for you: you are slow, and people need to be patient with the low energy you have! . I feel sorry for you having no option than dealing with tourists. The only reasonable person was the wife who said they had a long day but didn’t do anything to fix the rudness her husband caused. At least she tried!

While visiting Columbia and wandering down main street you can sometimes use a small pick me up and this place is probably your best option for coffee. Their coffee is good and the atmosphere is nice. If you stop by during the spring, and like floral drinks, I highly recommend the Lavender Latte,(I had my latte iced so it might be different when warm) it's very strong with a fresher lavender taste then other lavender flavored products yet not so overwhelming as to drown out the the rich coffee, and it's not very sweet so you can really enjoy the flavor of the lavender. Overall a lovely little place to stop by. 10/10 would go again.

Amazing and healthy place. Even the owner makes handmade oat milk to avoid sugar and unhealthy ingredients. Great espresso coffee too.

We go to Angels Camp a couple of times a year. Whenever we do, we head down to Columbia State Park. We love this place. This was my first time into Brown's Coffee House as our go-to-place was a couple of doors down. It smelled so good as we passed by, we had to go inside. The owner was behind the counter and this guy was super cool and attentive. Took me a moment to decide what my family wanted and in the mean time he took care of other customers that had walked in and then came right back to wait on me. We ordered: pulled pork sandwiches; hot dog; polish dog; chips; hot chocolates; and a latte. Pulled pork sandwiches (on pretzel bun with slaw) had no fat and delicious. They were a little sweet and it needed some tang to offset the sweetness. Jalapeno chips were the ticket! It was a very good experience and we will be visiting Brown's again upon our next visit to try something new. They also have a good selection of cookies; sweets; and ice cream.

I came at 9:27 am since they were open, hoping to get some coffee and possibly a brownie before I went to work. I was there for 15 minutes and nobody came to the front. I kept calling out "hello" or, "is anyone there," and nothing. I didn't see a sign telling me how to request any service. I had to catch a bus at 9:47am, so I couldn't afford to wait any longer. When I left the door was very loud opening and closing, so I am really surprised that nobody heard me come in. Overall, I'm disappointed.

Service can definitely be a bit slow within the first 2 hours of opening since there's been a few times I came by in the morning and had to wait more than 5 minutes for service, but coffee, sweets, and sandwiches are amazing! great place to visit and would recommend!

I used to work in a candy shop years ago. Ever since then, I've enjoyed going into candy shops and nosing around -and buying some of their wares! This is a small shop and they were a little busy, so I looked around and enjoyed watching what was going on. I found peanut brittle! Nothing is better than eating peanut brittle right off the cooling table, but this peanut brittle was packaged and cold. I bought some and proceeded to wander the streets of Columbia with peanut brittle in my mouth! There were four in our group, and we all agreed that we need to remember this store next time. This store is well stocked with well made candy. I loved it and I think you will, too.

Part of the Columbia State Park this living museum offers sweets from the past and good coffee and pastry's. As noted in the picture all the staff dress in old west clothing. I had a ice coffee for the road and your right that's a modern thing.
