i don't understand. i went to this shop with the alternator from my camry, the gentleman (owner?) said that it needs a new rectifier, which he said was "too hard to find." Recommended I buy a new alternator.Went right to starbucks, opened my laptop and found the rectifiers for the alternator in 5 minutes. Now, mind you, I didn't want to install the small parts, I though that's what shops that advertise "alternator repair" do. I mean, soldering, wiring and things are things these shops should be happy to do for you, right?Very disappointed this guy wasn't willing to fix something apparently, after research, a part simple to find. Now I will have to do it on my own, but just frustrated because this is why I brought the alternator in in the first place. "new alternators" are usually reman items and if someone else can "remanufacture" an alternator, the parts are certainly available.I guess shops really do not longer fix things and they want you to bring in the whole care for a major labor job. Did I want to fix it myself?no is the part hard to find? no. Disappointing. He did test my alternator and say it wasn't charging, however when I ran the voltage test via the obd port on my car it was putting out 14.3 v dc. So two things: the rectifier is not hard to find, and 2. dubious on the testing aspect although I cannot tell for sure, but the data from the car computer says the alternator is putting out 14.3 volts, which is withing spec for the battery.this guy just wants to to the high labor jobs and is not really and "alternator shop" in the true sense.

I called Hernandez because our local firestone told me that I needed a new alternator and I needed a cost effective repair. I know that times are tough for all right now, especially for a small business owner like Hernandez. SO imagine my surprise when the owner checked the alternator and said that there is NOTHING wrong with it and didn't charge me. I was grateful for his honesty. He asked a few trouble shooting questions . This guy works on BMW, Mercedes etc. so he knows his stuff when it comes to a mini. Hopefully I won't need any repairs in the future but if I do HERNANDEZ will have my business and anyone I can refer. Thank you again!

This little shop is located in Coachella they rebuilt alternators which is a godsend but it's so much cheaper than buying a new one it's just a small little shop easily missed if you don't know what you're looking for and use the maps program on your phone to give you directions other than that it was just really looking for The Price is Right I'll go there again and again

I TOOK A ALTERNATOR TO GET REPAIR BECAUSE THEY NO LONGER CARRY THE ONE INDICTAED FOR A TRUCK I NEEDED IT FOR. I CHOSE TO TAKE IT TO HERNANDEZ BECAUSE THERE IS NO ONE ELSE LOCALLY WHERE WE ARE LOCATED THAT REBUILTS STARTERS. I DROVE 40 MINUTES TO HIM AND PERSONALLY GAVE IT TO HIM AND TOLD HIM I NEEDED IT TO WORK. HE CALLED ME WITHIN 2 HOURS THAT IT WAS READY, THERE I GO DRIVING BACK TO COACHELLA ANOTHER 40 MINS. WHEN I GET TO THE SHOP TO INSTALL IT, IT DID NOT WORK. I REMOVED IT AGAIN AND TESTED IT AND NOTHING. I OPENED IT TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS DONE TO IT. AND JUST AS I THOUGHT. ALL HE DID WAS CLEAN MY STARTER TO MAKE IT LOOK NICE. I TOOK IT BACK TO HIM INDICATED THE PROBLEM TO HIM AND THAT I HAD INSPECTED THE STARTER AND HE SAID HE WOULD DO IT RIGHT THIS TIME. AGAIN I DRIVE ANOTHER 40 MINS BACK AND FORTH TO PICK IT UP AGAIN WHEN HE CALLS THAT ITS READY. AGAIN SAME RESAULT AND THE STARTER NEVER WORKED. I DID NOT ONLY WASTE MY TIME. BUT MY LONG TIME CUSTOMER GOT UPSET FOR THE DELAY. HE STILL HAD THE NERVE TO ADMIT THAT THATS HOW HE WORKS. RUDE. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NO HONESTY. IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. NEVER AGAIN STEPPING FOOT AT HERNANDEZ ALTERNATORS. NOW I KNOW WHY THE CATHEDRAL CITY LOCAATION CLOSED. HE COULD OF BEEN HONEST AND SAID NO PARTS TO REBUILT, OR IM TOO BUSY. ANYTHING. BUT TO CHARGE 120 TO GET A WET CLOTH AND JUST CLEAN FROM THE OUTSIDE IS STEALING.

Son bien carilleros no los recommiendo. Me cobro 100 para reparar un alternador. no eran profrecionales. Llege a last 3:00 pm (viernes) y no estaban. Lleve El alternador para reparacion lunes. Me llamaron lunes a las 3:50 y digiernon que TENGO que llegar en 10 minutos porque ivan a cerrar . (llame Al dueno y dijieron que cerran a Las 5:30 pm)
