Recently changed hands to "Tate's Tire Pros & Auto Service". Awaiting new signage. As of 8-9-2024 the building still says "NAPA", with a temporary pole sign saying "Tire & Auto Service Now Open".
They were highly personable and struck me as both helpful and honest. My car was checked out for a small fee and the problem and options were thoroughly explained to me. I opted for the 'Since it technically works fine, I'll deal with the noise' option, with the helpful addition of 'You'll know to come back if it starts making this other kind of noise'.

I got a nail in my tire on a road trip and was not going to make it home without a repair or air. Stopped in at the end of the day to see if they could fit me in. They said they could try to squeeze it in but that it would be an hour or more as they were booked up for the day. I asked if there were any other shops in town and they said they could check for me but that that shop was sending overflow business to them. They offered to air up the tire if I thought that would get me home. It had been a slow leak over the past hour and home was 30 min away. So they topped it off and I was able to make it home and get the tire patched at my home town shop. Turns out I picked up a nail.
I appreciate the help this shop offered to get me back on the road safely. They offered to fix the tire when they had a bay open up but were realistic with expectations given how late in the day I arrived. Good people. I would highly recommend.

Feel wrong to give them even one star. I have a vehicle that had 2 tires going flat from a pile of nails on the highway and one blew. I found quickly a set of tires used that where garaged and still good and lots of tread. Where 1000 dollars in tires for 200. Well I had one of the tires brought here and to be put on to get the vehicle off the highway and a friend helped me out driving her little car with big tires to do it. They simply refused to put them on. Said they felt they where to old and that it's a rule blah blah blah. Well I looked into it and well that was a lie. Lazy tire shop with lazy people. They where more then happy to give me a quote for 1000 then they would do it. Meanwhile kids stuck in the truck on the highway and all the shops had the same thing in the area. Suggestion leave the area. Every shop outside of these people in the area will do it. Followed the laws and rules of tire tread depth and rubber quality and said they will work for what I needed and did it. You pay for a service or used to no one needs your opinions or sales pitch worse shop ever. Avoid this area for tires it is cheaper everywhere else also.

This place is the absolute worst car shop I've been too. I went in for a simple issue since I was far from home. I got home to check their work and all they did was temporary hide the problem. NO FIXING. I went in to ask for information of the services provided and this lady got up and WALKED OUT MID CONVERSATION. She stated she refused service. Knowing their mistake. This is not okay. I do not recommend AT ALL. Never again!

DON'T TRUST YOUR CAR HERE! Took my car to get wheel studs replaced and they did something completely different and made it worse. Confronted them and they said it's not their issue because another shop mounted the rims on it. Place is a joke don't recommend at all save you money and car!!!!

I was on my way from fort bragg to the bay (in the pouring rain) when my engine started giving me trouble. Even though it was nearly closing time, Julie ran the check engine codes, topped me off with some oil, and sent me on my way. What a lifesaver!

They are very helpful and friendly. I had some rotors turned for a brake job I was doing. Waiting room is great, lots of foliage, good magazines to read!

My husband nd I moved to cloverdale 3 years ago and instead of going to the dealer like I always have. My husband had used smothered tire a couple of years ago for his company vehicles and Julie at southern was on it which really impressed my husband so we decided to start taking my Tahoe to southerd tires for maintenance and recently bought tires from them. Great customer service, Julie is a sweetheart. I highly recommend these people.
