I came from a modern city of 60k and that Safeway was perfect, now this Clearlake location is just poorly managed . These are a few of the things I have noticed in different departments 1 someone many years ago disposed of the customer service button at the customer service counter, (an employee told me this when I asked and chuckled) so you have to stand at the counter and wait till someone in the back sees you through the one way glass, and comes up to help, even if you ask a cashier to call someone to work the counter, they tell you someone will be along soon. 2 also in the meat department there is also a button to call a butcher if you have questions, the button is there but must be disabled because nobody comes out when pressed 3 Now the bakery always has someone back there working hard, but if you stand at the register they will NOT come up to assist you unless you yell to them that you need help, they see you waiting but play dumb. I understand this is a smaller store and the shelf space for dairy products is small, but I go in for one store brand yogurt that happens to be on sale for the entire month, today was the third time this month I looked for it but the shelf is empty, and when I ask about it, there is always an excuse why they can't bring more out. All other departments of the store are normal and the cashiers are always pleasant to talk to and are very helpful I do miss my old store

It's called false advertising and you can be sued. You had many people that were there before 12 or even 1am . On your site it says 1. When you call it says 12. But to ignore both times when about 30 are waiting because you don't want to honor your times are messed up. But when you shut people's hands in the door because you don't want to work anymore is wrong. And then threatened with the cops because they wanted you to honor your times are wrong. And I will be blasting this for everyone, because you have people working for you that doesn't honor the times. And you are losing money.

ordered a cake days ago. they waited until 2 hours before i was to pick it up to.call me and tell me.that they don't carry what I ordered and had to completely change my order. not only is this unprofessional but also I get to explain to my kid why their bakery had it as an option even though they dont carry it. hoping to god it's ready on time at this point.

Every time I try to use self checkout it flips out about the weights in the bagging area not matching. Every time. The lines to have things rung up by staff are ridiculous. On good days it's 15 minutes on bad days it's 30. If self checkout worked I'd use it because I realize retail businesses can't get workers at present. But literally every time I try it flips out. They have it set up super sensitive to detect theft but it's accusing everyone of theft.

My family and I went to purchase sandwiches .. and snacks for an outing which turned out to be a HUGE MISTAKE! The deli staff Paul and (white female) are two of the most incompetent individuals to have ever sliced meat and cheese in a market. With the two of them they had 3 customers and then us.. (8) when Paul finally acknowledge us and i told him what we wanted and that i would patiently wait while he helped the 1 lady who was already there and the other two very entitled Caucasians who felt if they stood stiffly in the line and didn't look at all the people waiting ... they would get served first. ... NOT TODAY! The Caucasian gal runs over and tells me they can't take an order for 8 sandwiches.. they're busy and it's only two of them. . I said are you kidding me right now? She said it's basically policy and that we would have had to call ahead. I promptly told her oh ok..... and walked to customer services where a wonderful lady with dark hair and bangs came to the rescue.. she said that was not true and walked back to the deli with me and cracked the whip on these two imbeciles, brought another lady who made are sandwiches (VERY Slowly) it was horrible! The manager came over and gave us three sandwiches for "free" i wasted almost an hour in that store trying to get sandwiches, I would much rather Safeway hire competent people and we pay. The sandwiches were not great and mine was put on an old piece of focaccia ( which i felt was done on purpose) which was not edible and I picked my vegetable off and ate them with chips. Owen at the register was a cool dude.. did his job and I truly felt no judgment from him. The big bears Caucasian male that stayed at the front end with no mask on?!?! Was a useless presence for he did nothing but talk and wear no mask and stare at folks. I read another review where they lady was excusing the store and customer service because lake county is not a fancy place at all.... that's Not Ok! I'm not from there just visiting and spending my hard earned money.... SAFEWAY should care about its reputation anywhere they establish a new store! DO BETTER SAFEWAY... your employees need to be retrained and take classes on how to leave their bias in their personal space and not on Safeways dime!

i stopped going there due to the terrible customer service. typically they have only one checker (nine check out lines unmanned) and customers lined up to the back of the store with people just leaving their carts and going home after waiting for a half hour and getting nowhere near the front of the line. i saw four employees chatting and giggling and i told them customers were freaking out cause of the checkout problem and this lady put her hand on her hips and sarcastically said: "well thank so very much for point that out to us.".......can i give zero stars? stay away from the clearlake location i hope they are not all this badly managed.

This place is disgusting. How does the health department not shut down the deli. Unreal!! There are literally multiple flies landing on me as I wait for my sandwich climbing in my mask. The lady making the sandwich asked me if these left over soft tomatoes are okay. This is so gross.

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. Safeway has great prices, and the staff at the Clearlake location is really good. They have all the food I like and I can usually shop for the week for my family of 5 for well under $400. I have two issues: the first being that everything I've gotten meat there, it has been rancid within a a day or two. The second being the amount of baggers and checkers, there's just not enough. But I do know that that is ubiquitous with Safeway, it's almost always 3 checkers and two baggers. I'm grateful this location exists with great deals and nice staff, but I do wish the meat issue would be resolved.

On 8/27/20 I walked in an handicapped cart wasn't working. I found one plugged in behind the coin star machine. No associates were free to help me. There were no posted signs about an employee needs to plug orcunplug a handicap cart. In a Clearlake anyone needing a cart justvunplugs a cart or returns the cart and plugs it in to charge. I tried to unplug the cart and it sparked and slammed my hand into the back of the coin star machine then the plug dropped onto my foot and bruised it severely. My left thumb join collapsed and it took them some time for their employees to come out and file a incident or accident record of injury. Finally one clerk went over to the Starbucks booth and got me some ice for my hand. It felt like it came out of the socket also. I sat with ice for almost 40 minutes before the form was completed, they didn't seek help for me or offer to call an ambulance or call a doctor to help me. Two months later their insurance 2nd party insurance denied my claim. Shame on you to not help a70 year senior and then to deny my claim and try to cover up your liability by posting a sign after my injury so they wouldn't be liable. Shame now I have t hire an attorney to hold them responsible for my serious injury. Help does anyone know of an attorney I need to get them to pay my medical bills.

The people who work there r nice and helpful .Sometimes the staff have off days but dont we all.thank you for helping us in this time of craziness. I'm hoping in the future this safeway does get a face lift just because it's the smallest safeway shouldn't mean it needs to be overlooked ....

Safeway’s cakes are the best around!! Raquel made my birthday cake in January, and it was the best cake I’ve ever had. And, I’ve had my fair share of cake. (Tee hee!) Tonight, I picked up my sons birthday cake and once again...it was perfect. Love, love, love our local Safeway bakery!
