People helping people is what this store is all about. It is so nice to have a thrift store in the Claremont Village. All proceeds are donated to local organizations that help people. It’s a great way to contribute to the community…donating extra stuff and shopping here both help people in need.

I've been to this shop a few times and all of my experiences were so wonderful. The people who typically volunteer have been so lovely. However today 2/11/2022 (close to closing time) a male and a female were volunteering, he was nice, she was absolutely AWFUL! I was two seconds away from leaving my entire purchase behind and walking out. She was rude to every single person in that store and made everyone feel awfully uncomfortable. I purchased about 92.00 dollars and had a 100.00 dollar bill. She kept going off on how they don't take 100.00 dollar bills. I literally made a 355.00 dollar purchase a few weeks prior and had no issues. Also, how do you expect me to pay for a 92.00 purchase when you only take cash? I understand that the people who volunteer there don't get paid, but please choose the more pleasant people! I love coming here because all of the proceeds go to wonderful charities but I'm not sure I'll be coming back.

Small, cozy thrift store. There are not so many clothes for young men, but interesting accessories and pottery were there.

It's a beautifully set up and maintained resale shop, and their profits help our local non-profits. I love this place!!!

I'm not a fan of buying new unnecessary clothes, so this place has come through several times for my "day job" attire. It's not huge (actually pretty small) and the hours are strange, make sure to check on that - but I hear it's volunteer-run that's probably why. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH! Cool spot though.

Decided to pop in and see what goodies they had today. While perusing the inventory , a woman entered the store looking a bit disheveled. She was sniffling pretty loudly and seemed anxious. One of the women who works there got up and asked her if she could help her. After a pause, the other woman answered that she needed shoes but had no money. To my utmost shock, the woman told her to try a pair of shoes to find one that fits and that she would pay for her to have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole interaction was so natural and organic that it caught me off guard! In our current climate of general hostility, it was so pleasant and refreshing to witness this act of empathy and kindness. Hats off to the generous volunteers of The Economy Shop, you ladies are amazing!!!

My favorite village shoppe. They own the building so no need for long hours and run by kind volunteers so low overhead. They close during the holidays and summer to restock and give the volunteers a much needed break. The proceeds go to many different charities. Cash or check only.
