I have been going to Penneys for years but I am now unfortunately cutting ties. I am fortunate to get a refund for my hair color being butchered by an inexperienced stylist at Citrus Heights Penney’s salon. But as a consumer I feel like it needs to be known how bad the appointment went..I called after my first appointment because I was just not comfortable with how it turned out and Shea, the stylist who initially did my hair answered and told me to come back to see if we could blend the harsh lines..I went back to get my hair fixed the same day I called..Shea admitted it wasn’t good work and that was going to call me to come back in….I left in tears after the second “attempt” to fix my hair..she also was angered at the fact I didn’t think it was fixed and that was how she does her balayages. Stormed off to get her manager.. left me with toner in a section of my roots..I was told what I was asking for was now called highlights but that’s not what I asked for.. I have gotten my hair many times and know the difference. I may have needed highlights to fix the damage.. I was given the option to come in a third time with a color specialist, and paying the salon an additional 100+ to cover the additional color or product I would need to fix the damage...The whole hair coloring was so far off from what we talked about..I had to pay another Salon to strip the hair color she caused with permanent dies and toners and I was advised to report to the state board of cosmology.

Coleen is AaaaMAZING! I called super last minute for a shampoo and cut. I was a first time customer and Coleen was available. She is so sweet, and gave me a wonderful cut and the best head massage shampoo experience I’ve ever had. And I’ve paid top $$ for hair services.Schedule with her ❤️

Seth was an absolute joy to be with. He was professional in his approach and made sure I was happy with his work. He and James were lovely, and provided banter throughout the process. I left feeling confident and beautiful. Seth also educated me on hair care tips and set me up with good products. Will definitely be visiting them again!

Worst haircut ever!! Was scheduled with one person but when I got there I was seen by an inexperienced stylist. My hair is choppy and different lengths. I got it cut for a special event and it’s so short I can’t even put it in a clip. Guess I’ll wear a bag over my head.

I am very disappointed, the lady did a horrible job with my nails. They are all different shape and crooked. She said it’s my fault because I didn’t like the work she did and wanted to change the style because she wasn’t good at doing the style and shape I wanted. I’ve been here a few times before and my nails looked perfect before except today. I am upset and and disappointed in the nail artist.

I absolutely love my haircut and my hairdresser, Thank you so much to James for taking care of my hair and blending it so beautifull. I will definitely be coming in more often and recommending this place to friends and family and again Thank you so much.

I am very disappointed, the lady did a horrible job with my nails. They are all different shape and crooked. She said it’s my fault because I didn’t like the work she did and wanted to change the style because she wasn’t good at doing the style and shape I wanted. I’ve been here a few times before and my nails looked perfect before except today. I am upset and and disappointed in the nail artist.

I honestly would prefer to give 0 stars!! The staff here are very RUDE! Do yourself a favor a visit another JCP salon. I had an appt scheduled for with Louis whom I'd never seen before. I received a call to confirm appt but the lady Janice mentioned a different stylist name. This has happened to me before. When I called back I admit I was very upset because of the mixup and even more when the scheduler showed no compassion ...she was very dry. Long story short she called me back after reaching out to Louis and was advised he deliberately put me with another stylist because I've had numerous no shows. This is untrue!! Aside from this appt I had one back in October with him and I was late due to traffic from 1 hr drive in which I called in advance but I've never been a no show. Even then the staff was very rude when I arrived didn't even offer to schedule me with anyone else. They all just stood staring funny at me and lack courtesy.Shame on Louis to deliberately reschedule me with someone I don't know and not even have the decency to call me beforehand to let me know his logic behind it. A simple phone call advising me about his policy and sharing my so called no show dates(which I requested from the rude manager Katy and have yet to receive) would've been the ethical, appropriate thing to do. This would've prevented me from becoming upset with the scheduler. Their customer service and approach to resolving minor issues is beyond horrible and unacceptable.Fortunately, I was able to contact my JCP salon of close to 15 years(my regular stylist moved out of state) and find a new stylist there. Lesson learned I do not recommend this Sunrise location at all!!!

I went to JCPenney salon in Citrus Heights just to pick up a couple of products for my hair. The 3 lovely ladies in there were helpful and delightful. It was so refreshing to have positive help and kindness when out in this crazy world right now. Unfortunately I didn't get any names but I would not hesitate to go back and pursue their other services
