The name of the business is Official Brake & Lights ??. Today I called to schedule a simple brake inspection, and they said that they no longer do brakes! Now they only do smog checks and mufflers.

I bought a Yamaha Zuma scooter from the owners of this shop, Lesli and Luis. They seemed like a great shop and quite trustworthy at first. I asked about registration and they said it was expired but only by a year so should be somewhere around $200-$300 to register. I should have never gone through with the sale but I trusted them when they told us this. We paid for the scooter and took the scooter with us and brought it to our local registration place that we have been using for years. Registration had not been updated in so long and their was a previous lien on the scooter making it over $800 for registration. I immediately called Lesli and asked what they could do, I could not afford this and felt lied to. She said she felt horrible and said they could reimburse us $200. Not even close to the $800 for registration but it was something. First said she would meet up and never got back to me after multiple times trying to meet up. After this she said she would set up Venmo and never did, then PayPal and never did. The following weeks and now months after that ignored my numerous calls and texts. I even called the shop and no one answered. For a family run business this seems pretty shady to me. I would not recommend using someone who lies to clients and won’t follow through on commitments. My grandmother recently brought her car here because she had her Check Engine light on. She was told that a diagnostic would be $90 and should she decide to let them repair her vehicle they would waive the $90 diagnostic fee if the cost of the repair is $200 or more. She was told she needed to have her Mass Air Flow sensor replaced and they charged her a total of $290 for the repair when she asked if she would get the $90 she already paid taken off the total cost they said no because what they really meant was if “labor†cost was over $200 the diagnostic fee would be waived. What a coincidence they came up with $180 for labor cost so they could miss their own cut off. After all that 2 days later the Check Engine light came back on and when she went back to complain they referred her to a Notice from Nissan and told her this particular part has been an issue in these vehicles and she could take it to a Nissan dealer and they would fix the issue for free. She requested a refund and they said there was nothing they could do. Why not let her know first about a manufacturer recall? No of course not take an elderly woman's money first. Shame on this place! We're all weary of mechanics for being scammers because of shops like this one.

Best smog shop great professional mechanics took my car to other places and couldn't find problem with car . Nacho and Joe did diagnostic and in 3 hours car was running like it should. Highly recommend this place
