Nightmare. I sent in my stuff, Hal sent me the filing to sign, and then he contacted me that he had e-filed my taxes. No so. After 1 full month I became concerned so I checked with FTB and IRS and they had no record of my taxes being filed. I called him, emailed him, texted him and no response. 1 week later and still no response. I finally filed them myself on Free Tax USA and they sailed thru. Not recommended...

Avoid this business! Never responds to phone calls or emails, "promised taxes would done in 2 weeks," and that was 3 1/2 months ago.

Cost me thousands of dollars for filing my taxes incorrectly and then facing a late fee too when it was finally fixed. Avoid at all costs!

Met with Hal and turned in my forms.... Then I never heard back! I have left 17 messages for Hal with Georgia. She says they don't have my paperwork.... Worst incompetence I've ever come across. They will lose your filing. They won't call you back. They will make every excuse as to why. No effort will be made for you. First and last accidental time I'll use them. Don't bother.

I experienced Asian Hate in this place. A 90 lb delicate Asian lady with a newborn baby, got yelled at in his office, right before Mother's Day. I ended up feeling so uncomfortable and vulnerable of the way I was treated. Hal Richard, the guy you are gonna be talking to, is extremely racist and shows no respect to woman. If you are white, then you have no problem being here, but if you are people with colors, think twice before you walk in. If you are a woman, don't come to this office to experience his rudeness towards you. The office is filled with junks; old, aged, dusty household items are sitting everywhere on the floor. Those two female receptionists are nice, but Hal has some kind of attitude. Just because I didn't mention about my father and he assumed my father passed away. He is so rude and unprofessional. You never assume things when it comes to filing taxes. There are a lot of good tax preparers/consultants who can provide better quality services.

It's a very low key and covert building . The atrium is quiet as a church , and wonderfully overtaken by foliage. Is this a secretive financial Operations bldg located in the coastal southern Chula Vista tropics of California ? You better believe . James Bond vibes 100%. Like being on a movie set . Georgia and Hal are so lovely and nice ! The office is super quiet . I always get a pen and paper when speaking with Hal . He has a lot of knowledge of course. Call it getting given a "chicken wing" bc I always leave this office much wiser than before ! Now I have another 365 days to hustle , Do better . Hopefully Make more ! But most importantly, keep it consistent ! Thanks again Tax Medic Chula Vista !!!

I just had my tax appointment with Hal yesterday, he has his main office in Chula Vista, however I opted to meet at his La Mesa location. Hal is very one on one, easy going and goes over a check list to make sure he gets all necessary information to prepare my tax return to get me any and all tax credits that are allowed. The tax laws constantly change, and Hall and his staff make sure they study the changes to be up with the latest information. Hal will send your tax return via email, or mail a hard copy to your home when completed. Hal and his office staff will take calls throughout the year when you have tax questions at no charge when you have used his service. I was originally recommended by a friend to Hal 10+ years ago, since then I have recommended several friends and they continue using his service yearly as he easily adapts to your needs. Hal offers the additional service where you can mail your tax info to his office, or drop the info off at his office, and he'll complete everything and mail it back to you, without your having to enter his office, if you're to busy or unable. I recently had a friend who became extremely ill and didn't know how he'd get his tax return completed, so I was happy to recommend Hal, who took his call and was able to help him get his tax return completed. Hal is very helpful in cases of inheritances, and ensuring that your beneficiaries you have listed for various insurance policies, 401K's, vehicles, are listed in a proper legal order so you can be assured the person you want to receive all or a portion of those items receive them, and if your beneficiaries predecease you that the next person you intended to receive that item will receive it, unfortunately if it isn't listed legally and correctly in a proper order, someone you never intended will receive that house, car, insurance policy, 401K, etc. I'm so happy with Hal's tax service, I've always met in person with him, however it's nice to know, I could mail him my information and he'd get my return done for me by mail.
