We purchased a switch pro controller in Buena Park, CA about 14 months ago at the time we also purchase a 2 year PRP warranty for it. Went into this store today to use the warranty due to joy-con drift on said pro controller. This store in Chula Vista Broadway said the ONLY option was to give us a REFURBISHED controller for it since they don't make the Super Mario Bros. Running Mario controller anymore, and GameStop recently changed their warranty policy so that they can now choose what to give you in exchange. I explained that wasn't the case when we purchased the controller + warranty, and that this is a bait-and-switch scenario. In addition to receiving a refurbished good we had to surrender the usb Nintendo charging cable. Pretty much we were going to end up with a USED/ REFURBISHED pro controller and NOTHING to charge the unit with. Please explain to me how this makes sense when we paid $59.99 for the pro controller and $22.99 for the 2 year "product replacement plan." Needless to say we left with our damaged controller and went into a different GameStop that DID honor the warranty that we had purchased for the controller. This store needs proper training, they didn't even scan the original purchase receipt or take a closer look into their system to see that we were entitled to a new controller. GameStop website states "THE TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS PLAN IS THE PURCHASE PRICE YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT; IN THE EVENT THAT THE TOTAL OF ALL AUTHORIZED REPAIRS EXCEEDS THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID FOR THE PRODUCT OR WE, IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION, DECIDE TO REPLACE THE PRODUCT WITH A PRODUCT OF LIKE KIND AND OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE." This means we get a controller that is the same price as the original purchased price, not half the price. Go to this GameStop if you want to purchase something new, but definitely not for store warranty issues.

New policy doesn’t allow for returns, only exchanges up to 15 days (30 days for Pro Members). Still, staff was super helpful! Always the best here

I needed a Rare cord.. it was not on the shelf. He mentioned discounted Cords. I insisted on the Discounted cord packed in a File cabinet of 50 plastic bags of Cords. 53 seconds of searching..WALA...I forgot your name BUT .....YOU THE FREAKING MAN.. SALUTES

Poor service, did not want to honor warranty that was purchased in store. Both "Brandon's" were self proclaim managers and did not manage to help until I called out to customer service to educate them on the warranty policies. Why do y'all work in customer service just to disrespect your customers? Both these dudes are jokes, went to a different location and I wasn't even stopped at the door and refused service I was helped and sent on my way with no additional issues by just one sales associate that was also busy but didn't give me a hard time at all.

Manager there didn’t want to accept my damaged online order return saying that it’s an online order and that they don’t accept online orders as it’s in their policy when customer service hotline sent me an email and slip saying to return item to any nearby GameStop location. I had to go to another location on Palm to do my return which they gladly accepted without giving me any hard time. I am sure they didn’t want to accept my return because they didn’t want to affect their sales. I will definitely not be doing any business with this location.

I have been shopping at GameStop for years and I have to say that I have never received such great service like the service I was provided at this location. Upon entering, Brandon C greeted me with a smile and was welcoming into the store. He could tell I had a question so he approached me to see if he could help out. He was very attentive and really made me feel like I was the most important customer he saw all day. After helping me out he wished me a nice day and invited me to come back anytime. I will definitely be coming back to this store even though it is a far drive just so I can get the service that I received from Brandon C on Labor Day. Thanks Brandon, you are a rockstar and made my day.
