Superior Grocers, founded in Covina, California in 1981, has expanded to over 47 stores across Southern California. The store is known for its strong community focus and commitment to serving local neighborhoods. Customers appreciate the availability of Mexican products and find the store’s prices generally good, especially for fresh foods like grilled lemon chicken, carnitas, and Tres Leches, which are popular for parties and special occasions. However, some reviews mention that the quality of meats, produce, and vegetables can be average, with occasional issues like spoiled limes or onions being tossed around. Price increases are noted across many stores, including Superior Grocers, often justified by current market conditions. Promotional sales sometimes encourage customers to buy more than needed, which some see as misleading. The store charges a small fee for plastic bags, and employees are required to provide them at checkout, leading to feelings of mistrust among some customers. Despite these concerns, overall, it is seen as a good store with affordable prices, though it sometimes has long lines due to a limited number of cashiers. Customers value the store’s selection of Mexican products and its community-oriented approach.
Brand new store all laid out very well it's nice and clean and there's lots of room to walk around and check out all their products... the produce was fresh and bright! The staff was courteous and I will be back again!

Clean, not the best quality when it comes to their meats, produce and vegetales. Employee tossing the onions one x one, spoils limes mixed with the better ones. But you get what you pay for.
