Been living in Chino Hills for over 25 years and go to big five sporting goods once in a while. The other day I went in with my daughter and my grandkids and my daughters certified service animal. My daughter was told that her dog could not be in the store. My daughter told the worker that her dog was a service animal and she said it didn't matter that she still had to take him out of the store. I've been asked manager if she knew that it was the law she could not have my daughters dog removed from the store. She proceeded to tell me that it was their policy and they had a lot of dogs in there that were doing their business on their floor so that they were not allowing dogs in there unless you could carry them, there's no way I'm carrying an 80 pound dog. We left the store and I called my daughters dogs trainer who returned to the store about an hour later with her service dog and was told absolutely nothing. She walked around the store for a while and no one ever told her she had to take the dog out of the store. I'm thinking maybe because my daughter is 14 or I hate to think because of a race issue but sometimes it's hard not to think that way I will be returning to that store and I hope everyone else that goes there gets treated better than I did.

Terrible services, I purchased a few things on 1/04/2024, went back to the store on 1/9/2024 to exchange one item for a different size. " Sorry no returns since the original package is gone, that's our policy." The lady told me. I said:" no, I did not ask for a return, just to exchange it. " she said:" same , no original package on it, no returns or exchanges. " She did not even bother to check the condition of the item, and throw me a piece of paper, " here, this is our return policy". I did not shop at Big 5 Sporting Goods quite often before, with the experience, I am sure I will NEVER shop here again. There are so many stores for Sporting merchandise with competitive price and service, good luck Big 5, hope your business with this kind of service and employees can survive longer enough.

Such a great place for pocket knives and watches, especially when they go on sale, you can get them for under $20 and they make the perfect gift. We have bought various camping supplies like mats, tents, sleeping bags, stoves, coolers other fun things like boogie boards, floatation devices, pool games/supplies as well as various clothing. We take advantage of the sales on jackets, shoes and other apparel. There have been times we get special personalized service when they aren't too busy an employee will actually shop with us showing us where everything is that we need and offering suggestions. We really enjoy shopping here more than other sporting goods stores.

Make sure you verify in stock before you go. Specially on sale items. I went to two different stores for a one day sale item (ammo) and neither store had any in stock and they had just opened. I love how they put things on sale that they don't even have in stock. Great sale. I was even sent from one store to the other and they verified plenty in stock (17 boxes) on the computer but when I got there literally in 11 minutes they had none in stock. Not even a single box. Btw not the first time this has happened. But they did offer to check another store (like that helps) which was 30 mins away. No thank you. Third time would not be the charm this time. GYST Big 5.
