I should've not went here she charged me $120 for one color and a "treatment" my hair gets more frizzy and dry. I got colors that's on my scalp and on my back literally it seems I did a hair color at home. $120???? For this kind of service? I feel like I got scammed. I asked for a layer (my layer looks botched layer). And hair color is getting removed

So.. I got a hair cut around two days ago. My hair was pretty long, it reached the top of my jeans from the back. This was my first time here I just saw the salon driving by and decided to try it out after seeing good reviews on Yelp. I just got my hair done around 2 weeks ago for about 400 dollars, and my hairstylist recommended I get a haircut to trim the split ends. And I came here and told the lady about 3 times that I didn't want a lot of hair to be cut because I still wanted it long. And I said I wanted layers. I told her to only cut about 2 inches. So she's cutting away behind me super fast, about a 20 minute hair cut for all my hair. I said multiple times I DO NOT WANT TO CUT A LOT OF HAIR. Fast forward... she cut off about half my hair. And I have no weight to it anymore whatsoever because it is just thinned out and gone. When I saw the floor I almost cried because half my hair was cut off. I was growing my hair out for two years. I still paid her $50!!!! I didn't say a word because I'm not one for confrontation or problems. Overall worst experience I won't be coming back. I lost about $200 worth of hair. Here is a before and after.

This place is not good. The owner is not professional and not honesty. This is 1st time I had hair cut by the Hair Story owner because my hair dresser was not there. I paid $45 for short hair cut. It's expensive but she did not do good haircuts. Not recommended!

I love it going here. Been going here for about 5 years. I always make appointment with the owner. She is very polite and knows what she is doing. Please help the local businesses. I highly recommend this place.

Very unprofessional and the language barrier is definitely a problem, which is why I didn't understand when she said to bring cash only. My sons hair only lasted 5 min. One hand she was holding her phone and the other chopping my sons hair. Was left uneven no fade, and sides too high, and of course no shampoo. Hair dresser was trying to still charge me $25, I only gave her $15. Lucky I even gave her anything. Thank god for Vicara Salon at the Shoppes that we're able to fix it. I will never step foot at Hair Story again.

Thank you Cindy! My go-to lady for haircuts and perms. Great prices too! They welcome walk-ins, but its usually better to schedule an appointment ahead of time. Even though I'm leaving the state, I'll 100% come back when I come home if I'm ever in need of a haircut.

Came in to chop off 14 inches of my hair to donate and get it a bit styled after cutting it off. Luckily, the ladies working were very supportive of it. Moreover, I asked to make my hair more even and add light bottom layers in addition to showing her three reference photos. However, the hair stylist decided to cut off an additional 3 inches of my hair. I purposely grew out my hair another year so that the length wouldn't be too short when I cut off all that hair, but it all just became useless. On top of that, the haircut came out extremely choppy (bottom layers were uneven with weird indents) and the whole process seemed extremely rushed even though there were no customers present. She then tried to persuade me that it was the "style" and that it looked good? I proceeded to pay $40 and leave the shop crying since I took such good care of my hair for 3 whole years and ended up with such a horrible outcome. I don't usually post many reviews, but I couldn't help but feel so disappointed every time I looked at a mirror.

This hair salon is by far the worst hair salon I've ever been to. They completely fried my hair when I asked for a perm. They can't even do a simple trim and I am absolutely disgusted.

Been here twice so here's my hair story! I had Asian black hair with light brown balayage and wanted to go with a lighter, especially at the tips, but still natural look. I was in Chino Hills at the time visiting family, so I decided to give this place a try. The Korean ladies that work there were very nice, but their English weren't great. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and thought I got my point across. The owner quoted me a price that seemed reasonable, so I sat down for the bleaching/processing part. It took a good 3 hours (they kept saying it wasn't light enough but also gave me some Korean snacks to munch on), but after they finally washed it off and even after the toner, it was a bright brassy yellow with a pretty harsh line between the black roots and the yellow hair. Google image "bad ombre" and that's basically what it looked like. Nothing like the picture I had showed. I began to panic and told the owner that's not what I wanted. She was very receptive and began to put some more stuff on my hair. I don't know exactly what she did or how she did it, but I ended up with this nice silver/platinum blonde ombre look. It kept getting better with washes too as it became more and more blended, with a gradient developing between my natural black hair and the blonde tips. I have received lots of compliments on my hair color since! Three months later I was in town again and decided to go back for some toner. I wanted to get the brassy yellow out of my hair. The ladies remembered me and offered me more Korean snacks and drinks. Again, I'm not exactly sure what they used on my hair, because in my mind, toner should not cost around $100. They put some stuff on my hair and sure enough, my hair color was cooled down overall. My hair was pretty damaged from all the processing, so they included a complimentary repair treatment where they put a deep conditioner on and went over it with an ionizing flat iron to "seal the hair follicles." My hair was nice and soft after, but it only lasted about a month. Color-wise, after some washes, I now basically have the same nice blended blonde ombre look. Overall, great service with great results. I took off a star because I never felt like I knew what was going on. I never knew what exactly was going on my hair, both times I was there. The ladies would speak Korean to each other, even about what to do with my hair, so there was a slight language barrier between us. If you don't speak Korean, I would recommend being very clear about what you want, showing lots of pictures, and communicate throughout the process! Also, I couldn't find a standard pricing menu or their services. The owner simply pulled out a number for a quote each time I was there. Not saying she was ripping me off, but I would like to see more transparency. Nice people though and things ended up okay!

Finally we found some skilled hairstylist in Chino Hills. Didn't know we had one here. I started to go one Ajioshi in Ktown, very neat, used only scissors and did a great job. Since I moved to Arcadia, had someone also really skilled. But we couldn't find someone as skilled in Chino Hills area. But, today me and my wife were 100% satisfied with Jennifer and the other lady skills. Will definitely come back as prices are also reasonable so that's a plus. Jennifer cut my hair really well, and could tell she's really experienced. Also we liked the decoration, and waiting area.
