worst experience, had an ROP student not ask for help after having a hard time finding a vein, and then blow out the vein. After blowing it out, then he asked for help. If you have a student, have a supervisor in the room to help or have a policy regarding what to do if they are unsure. Dont just go ahead and give it a try and blow it. Literally.

I am very disappointed to write this review as I have had decent experiences dealing with this lab in the past. Today, I went in for my glucose screening test during pregnancy. I had requested a one hour test, which was unusual for my doctor's office since they always send for the 2 or 3 hour test. I had told my doctor at my last appointment that I refused the 2-3 hour test and to drink the 75 mg of glucose drink because of a terrible reaction with my first pregnancy (And newsflash, you're allowed to refuse any test during pregnancy! This test is 100% voluntary!). The lab slip was not filled out correctly so the phlebotomist was unsure what test they had ordered. They wanted to speak with my doctor's office to get clarification, which is a perfectly reasonable request. They went ahead and gave me the 50 mg glucose drink and in the meantime called the doctor while I waited the one hour. I could tell that the manager (Jamie) was beginning to get frustrated, though I wasn't sure why since drawing blood and figuring out lab slips is her job. When I came back to have my blood re-drawn, the manager (Jamie) vehemently began displaying her anger and annoyance with the situation. They had called my doctor's office while I was waiting and had spoken with the nurse who is rarely there and had no idea that I had previously worked out with my provider that I'd complete the 1 hour test. I tried to explain to Jamie the reason why they were confused (my doctor had filled out 2 slips and the nurse was unsure why both slips were in my file). Jamie would not let me explain and aggressively over talked me, loud enough for people in the waiting room to hear. At this point, I offered to call the nurse myself to explain to her what my doctor had ordered. While I was on the phone with the nurse, I said something about "the confusion" and Jamie yelled, "Oh there's no confusion here!" and then something snarky under her breath that I couldn't hear. At that point I looked at her and said there was no reason to be rude, I was simply trying to clarify the situation. She snapped back something to me that I couldn't hear. She then left the room and went into the back, where I heard her gossiping about me with the other phlebotomists. Once the appointment was over, I got up to leave, fighting back tears and dumbfounded that this type of exchange had even occurred. Since I didn't say "bye," Jamie took it upon herself to very rudely yell "BYE!!!" as I was leaving, again, loud enough for the entire waiting room to hear. After all this, I did make a formal complaint to the main Valley Clinical Lab office in Oroville and I appreciate that she listened to me and expressed concern as to what happened. Unfortunately, I won't be going back in the chance that I would ever have to get my blood drawn from this woman again. Getting your blood drawn is awful enough, and to encounter someone so unprofessional, aggressive and downright rude made for a pretty terrible experience.

I just had the best blood draw of my life. Not that everything needs to be reviewed by it was so quick and absolutely painless I felt like I should have left a tip. Billing is done online and is no hassle. I find it to be less busy than many other places and rarely do I have a wait of more than a few minutes. I don't get often asked to recommend a place to get blood work but if I did it would be here!
