Got my grandfather's car in and out for an AC repair same day, had the car done before the part was estimated to show up. Did a great job!

Buddy at Tedious Repairs helped me to do my 90,000 mile check up on my Lexus. The closest Lexus dealership to Chico is Roseville, and I was not driving all the way down there. He went through and tested everything the way Lexus would have and then presented me with a detailed packet of all the finding from the inspection. Professional, courteous, honest, and a quality mechanic.

Great experience, as far as having a car work done.
Friendly helpful staff is appreciated when your only car is broken. I knew all the costs up front.
I recommend Tedious Repairs for anyone with car problems. I trust them to fix my car now.

They did an awesome job! They were able to figure out the problem and fix it super fast.
I absolutely love the transparency through every step of the process. I felt that they clearly communicated everything so i knew exactly what I was paying for and why.
I will be coming back here whenever I need work and recommending them to everyone!

Me, the Dad, selected Tedious Repairs based on the 4.9 Goggle rating.
I sent my daughter in law and son to them with a transmission issue on a 2017 Ford Focus. She had already read the error code from the car. Smart girl. Tedious Repairs charged her $185 diagnosis the car and got the same code she did. They then wanted to sell them a new transmission for $8K. Plus additional $1700 for installation and removal and other shop supplies. What???
My daughter-in-law then rechecked the error code again with the same code reader she bought from Walmart. The code stated the transmission clutch actuator “motor B” was stuck.
A Google search recommended swapping “motor B “ with its twin “Motor A”. We did this and what to you know… that issue disappeared. Ran a error code check again and now it showed motor A was stuck. Motor B went to Motor A location and vice versa. That told us the motor B was defective.
I ordered two new OEM motors from Ford costing $235 delivered. She and I changed both A & B motors in the driveway with some hand tools since the car has 119K miles. Wow… transmission repaired. Goggle and YouTube and some common sense saved them $10K.
Tedious Repairs…. You should be ashamed
Of yourselves for what you did. You owe them for the cost of the diagnois for lying to them.
This is only a concerned “Dad’s” opinion.

Great service. I took my car in for warranty work and they stayed in touch with updates through the whole process. They even photo inspected the whole car and listed any possible maintenance suggestions. Go here ?

They quoted me around $6000 to get inside my engine for a ticking noise. I went to get two more quotes and went with another shop to get it done for $2000, the rocking arms needed to be replaced.

Tedious Repairs was thorough, generous and super nice. I had to take my truck in bc I was having transmission issues. They were great with communicating with me throughout the whole process-costs, when the parts would arrive, and even threw in a discount on account of my working for Sierra Nevada. Great shop to take your vehicle to!! Highly recommend them!! ??

I live in Oakland, but was in Chico on a job. I needed to get an oil change, but didn’t really want to go to one of those oil change places. You hear such occasional horror stories and I can’t afford a horror story. So. I started doing a little research and just stumbled across Tedious Repairs. The name just tickled me. It’s so clever and funny, especially if you are looking for something like an oil change. During my research, I had learned that an oil change using a synthetic oil could run anywhere from $40 to $150. Tedious Repairs gave me a quote of $80, which seemed really reasonable. I ended up having to return to Oakland, but they were able to squeeze me in that very day. Well, the service was amazing. Not only did they change the oil, but they did a thorough inspection of my car. My driving habits are a bit odd. I have a 2008 Prius, but only just hit 36,000 miles. Apparently, there are a number of services that should happen at 30,000 miles that I missed. Oops. There were a few things that needed to be attended to soon, but it turned out my water pump had cracked and needed to be repaired asap. Despite having squeezed me in for the oil change, they were able to replace the water pump right away. I dreaded the thought of driving to Oakland with a cracked and leaking water pump, so I was very grateful. The price quoted was reasonable and, thankfully, I had the money. They were able to finish the job that very day. I didn’t have a ride to the shop available, but I was able to pick it up first thing the next morning. (Another thing I liked about the shop was how convenient it was to where I was staying. Still it was too far to walk during the current heat wave.) I should add that the waiting room was small, but clean and comfortable. There was a refrigerator with free Sprite, Dr. Pepper and water and a clean bathroom available as well. Once I learned of the need for additional work, I arranged to be picked up Anyway, I highly recommend Tedious Repairs. The owner communicated well and the work was top notch. They even checked to make sure that I made it home without incident. I have never found a shop in Oakland that I really liked. I think I will be scheduling my automobile work for when I am up in Chico as much as possible from now on.
