I REALLY wish we had another store nearby! I have not lived here long, but the few times I have been to this store was extremely disappointing. They said they had fresh crab, but it was really overpriced and really bad. I took it right back after one taste. NO WAY was this fresh.Part of it seemed frozen and part was really hard. The pork ribs in the deli were really tough and not good either. I really can't understand why so many people go there, other that it's close, because it certainly has not been worth it to me.

I love shopping here and do so quite often. My complaint? The checkers are very poorly trained. Does no one say "please", "thank you", or "you are welcome" anymore? "No problem", is not equivalent to any of these! Or maybe I am just old? Otherwise great availability of speciality food items.

Great store. Always friendly and charming staff. Clean and well stocked. Meat department staff are super helpful. Sandwiches are amazing.

By far the best local natural food store in Chico. Sorry co-op. Great selection of everything from supplements to a complete meat department. Oh and don't forget your Tri-tip BBQ sandwich for lunch!

Over the last few months they mess up my order every time. I ask for no mustard and no pickles that's it. Every single time I get loads of mustard and they even cross it off on the menu when taking my order. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.

What is going on here??? This place used to be my favorite spot in town, used to get BBQ and deli weekly but stopped after buying a raw Rotisserie chicken and getting burnt sandwich time and time again. But today was my last time shopping here... for a "local family owned" business there is such a bad vibe .. I was shopping this AM and overheard who I'm assuming was the "manager" completely humiliate a man, I heard from several aisles over. I am assuming he was attempting to steal something... but wow what could he have been taking that was worth that. I'm disgusted I felt so bad for that man I could even tell by the other workers faces that they were embarrassed and in shock. Also to note she followed him all the way into the parking lot still yelling at him after she got the " attempted stolen item" back from him..

I Just left the bbq, and I am not happy. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak on sourdough. It came out on stale white bread. This bread tastes terrible and is stale or not made correctly. I took my more than half a sandwich back ti the register hoping for a partial refund or something. I got "let me get someone." Wrong answer. Then, the bbq girl says "it is sourdough, and I know it's fresh because it just came in." More wrong answers. I just walked out. This is upsetting because my family has been shopping here for many years, but I think we're done. I would give zero stars, but I've only had issues with the bbq. Last time it was burnt badly and I just ate the garbage. Get it together S&S bbq and clean your grill I just took this pile of a sandwich back to the guys at work. Five of them tried the bred and all agreed it's not sourdough, so what's the deal S&S? I don't even think you sell this cheap bred IN your store

They have a excellent fresh food grocery. The people who work there are friendly. A great selection of nutritional supplements. And very good sandwiches!!! Thank You S&S grocery!!!
