I came here a week before moving out of Chico and I regret not coming here years ago! The sandwich was insanely fresh and tasty, with lots of food for the price. The entire market was filled with really good looking stuff, and all the produce and meats looked and smelled fantastic. Real shame I didn't discover this sooner.

Almost 5 stars. But quite a bit overpriced. I'm from Monterey, CA I understand high prices, but S&S is marked well above retail value. Much more expensive then even Monterey's Whole Foods. Aside from the price, top notch customer service, great produce, great meats and fish. The best place I have found in Chico for fresh quality items. Customer service is really good. Although I have had to interrupt cashier's from time to time gossiping with each other while I am awkwardly waiting to be rang up, but they have never given me attitude back like I would get at New Earth, they apologize and promptly start ringing me up, so it really isn't an issue for me. As someone who used to work at The Cheese Shop in Carmel, CA. I must say they could really up their cheese game with little effort. Other than that, they have a great selection of tea, vitamins, probiotics, soups, etc. Really good store for the small space it's packed into. Pros: Overall selection of hard to find items, and making you feel valued as a customer. Cons: Price, parking, and limited selection of cheeses and rice.

This is absolutely absurd! So expensive, so expensive. And that's it! Such a rip off. The produce and everything else is at least 4 times more expensive than anywhere else, with the same quality! So many people struggling right now, I am not sure what this place is trying to accomplish. It's bot okay to take advantage of people! You work hard for your money, don't waste your time here.

I sent my husband in to get my CBD oil because I suffer from anxiety. Lady in the vitamins area turned to my husband away saying, "I'm going home, maybe you can get someone else to help you." This is not the first time I have been met with rudeness and turned and walked out due to service!

I usually always stop by when I am visiting my parents in Chico. Today I ordered a Philly cheesesteak ahead of time, the guy that took my order (LRG t-shirt) was such a nice guy. I had a modification and he was super cool about it. When I showed up he was extremely busy. When he helped me he was just as cool and composed as he was on the phone. The bbq part of this store has always left me super impressed, everyone is so great here. Thank you!!

Picked up a pound plus of tri tip and some St Louis ribs for the Memorial Day weekend. It was great. Loved the juices or marinade in the pack. Just plain Yumm.

I've been going here for years and they have a great selection of natural products that are hard to find elsewhere but their employees aren't great. They aren't very helpful and one woman was very rude to me recently when I tried to check the scent of one of the coconut oils. She told me to stop when I untwisted the cap to see if I could smell it and when I asked her if there was more selection of oils she gave me a dirty look. I've never been treated so poorly at a grocery store by an employee. I will be buying all my products online from now on.

I shop in your store regularly and recently bought some Chilean Sea Bass out of your butcher shop. This is the third bad experience I've had with Sea Bass in Chico. I ordered it twice in restaurants and now from you guys. What you are selling is either not Chilean Sea Bass or its so treated with chemicals that it doesn't have the same texture or flavor it once had. I don't know if it's chemicals to make it last longer or if it was frozen once before and holding more water, but it's not the same. I grew up in SF eating seafood my entire life, in particular Chilean Sea Bass. I know this fish was overfished for a long time but if you're selling it, it should be what you're claiming it is, especially if you're going to charge 36.99 a pound. I would be happy to pay that if it was real, legit Sea Bass. On a final note, one of the restaurants I ordered Chilean Sea Bass at was Raw Bar. S&S probably supplies Raw Bar with their fish. Epic fail you are serving this community and charging 36.99 a pound to do it.

Meat and produce is fresh and well-priced. (However, one time I got ground turkey from the butcher's and it had weird hard pieces in it, like bone? So I now only get whole pieces of meat from them.) I try not to buy anything else here since it is quite expensive otherwise, but I imagine that's because much of it is organic and high-quality. The BBQ is a great place to grab lunch from.

This is the only place I go for fruit, vegetables and meat. The meat is so fresh here. I always grab a pound of bacon, pound of country sausage and whichever steak catches my eye. They also carry more exotic/gamey meat too. They have seafood, but I have not had a chance to try it yet since I don't typically make seafood at home.
